Awesome vid. Good to see how it plays competitively even though I'm not into defending much. I love the voice comms, reminds me how it used to be in the days I played Tribes competitively.
i for one loved both the editing and the music. there are a lot of parts in the video where the audio and video are synced in a very cool way you should give it a shot. :3
In my experience, melee'ing is all about timing as the damage occurs when the weapon is at its furthest arc, so to achieve moving melee kills you have to time it just right so that you start swinging as you move toward your target. If the target is moving fast, you also have to track their movement unless you manage to bodyblock them as well.
The voice chat is actualy quite interesting and I appreciated you leaving it in the vid. It does help a lot with the ambiance and all, and provides context to the short clips you used. But yeah, to be able to make out what is being said, I've got to endure the music (my volume slider is not selective, sorry about that...). Great vid other than that.
Nice video guys! Music is a little bit too loud, I can't really hear the voice chat when there are loud parts in the music, but overall really cool video, hope to see more of these. Maybe compilations of matches or something like that?
I've been playing Tribes since Tribes 2 in 2001, so I already knew most of the potential core comp community in Europe, so I had a big leg up. I'm also lucky enough to be surrounded by superior players who carry me and make me look 10x better than I am. The best place to start would probably be sandboxclan, from what I understand, also the Gameshrine recruitment section, and take a look at the Tribes section of the Reddit. Comp T:A is just waiting for new players and teams. Good luck. :)
Yeah Super Heavy is basically used as standard, but at least personally I try to set up to kill cappers in such a manner where I line myself up behind the flag, so that the capper will have to go through me after the flag. However, before that I go for a Prox + Thumper so that I essentially have 3 chances to kill the capper. And thanks. I think judging by some of the comments I went a bit OTT with editing, but you can't please everyone. Usually I don't edit so much, but wanted to try it. :)
Haha. Thanks. :) Just keep practising, I've only been playing Tribes for about 11 years so I'm proof it doesn't take long to reach my mediocre standard!
Roaming for sure, a HoF should be able to take of the stand alone but a Soldier or Pathfinder is needed to clear up people trying to get to the HoF in tandem with the Sniper.
Super curious ... Are you using Super Heavy as soldier (and general flag defence)? Is that common in scrim/tourney gaming? And great video, except maybe a bit blurry.
I fancy myself quite the good player.. But I can't melee moving targets for shit... I saw some melee kills here and they were from like half a meter away O_o
Awsome ! You guys rock. It seems that -3- clan deserve his 1rst position :) BTW, I'm seeking Raider- disrupt- footage on competitive games. If you know someone, it would be great ! thx
+SANEDRAK in development for now, you could get access via the Kickstarter but that's over and it's funded now. they're looking for ways to make it possible for people to continue funding and buy access so keep an eye on playmidair.com
Wow. Impressive play. I wish I could have watched it all the way through. At first I was like, I can't watch this, the music is utter shite and very irritating. Then, brainwave! I'll mute the sound. Then I realized the editing is as irritating as the music. Shame, though, really impressive playing from what I could gather through the haze of rage-inducing and utterly unnecessary video effects.
EXCELLENT choice in music. Fits so well. Great editing and great plays as well.
It's Satellite by Uppermost. Glad you enjoyed the video. :)

damn i keep coming back to this video at least once a day. one day... maybe.

sld with ar thumper proxy superheavy is a common HoF loadout, although the only one I saw in the video at 4:46 seemed to be on a raider, which isn't.
Awesome video, hope to see more from you guys
Wow, amazing. This and your new comp vid inspired me to try being soldier on flag.

Gotta love flyby melee kills
This competitive play looks a lot more fun than pubs. Maybe I'll get good enough to experience this someday...

Bleeding nose you say... Yes.
Was the most efficient way of taking out Raiders pre-nerf. ;)
That you for reminding me of how much I love this fucking game.
Absolutely great montage. The flag pass at 2:00 blew me away. Whats the song name though? Goes great with the video.
Ho, you see ? From 00:00 at 6:15 it's just awesome.
Roaming for sure, a HoF should be able to take of the stand alone but a Soldier or Pathfinder is needed to clear up people trying to get to the HoF in tandem with the Sniper.
Comp games are played with pooled credits, so my credits displayed are what the whole team has earned. No hacking. :)
Hey, it's 'Satellite' by Uppermost. :)
thx beardbro
Still my favourite video of yours =) sucks i can t press like again!
Nice vid great edit bro.
I already was a fan of Heartbreakerz, now I have a mancrush on you and sh4z
You are quite the player. I have always wondered, how does one go pro? I don't think I have the talent for it myself, but I wonder all the same.
if there is already a DMB on flag, is the soldier on flag still useful to play (random pickup games)? or should play a more roaming defense then?
1:39 - 2:06 omg no wonder you are a top team :O!
Super curious ... Are you using Super Heavy as soldier (and general flag defence)? Is that common in scrim/tourney gaming?

Niiiiice pass!
I know someone has probably asked this already, but what song was used for this video? It's pretty sick.
