you should test this on a weapon with high casting times, like bow or staff. bow has a passive that gives attack speed already so this will be easy to test
Since it's technically making every attack and animation of your character faster, that -.2 seconds of cast time can also be translated to "playing the game 20% faster"

Agreed, that is the balancing of weapons in attackspeed. Greatsword for example has higher additional attackspeed over dagger because its already fast enough
Both death blow and Guillotine blade have large damage bonuses when striking enemy who has prone / stun, so I think the point for GS is to tune in a way you can execute the attack when CC still applies. Also I would want to see whether the base attack speed of the weapon itself makes any difference. Do the slower weapons do more damage with skill, but cast them slower? Or are the skill damage and speed independent of the base speed of your weapon?
@@ondrejvasak1054 Slower weapons like Greatsword deal more damage in normal attacks. For skill damage, it depends more on the specific skill and additional traits like skill boosts. Yes, skill damage and speed are independent of the weapon’s base speed
@@JustJanwoo You misunderstood my question. I want to campare slow greatsword with a faster great sword and see if it makes difference for skills. @@ondrejvasak1054 oh i see, skill percentages are based on the weapon's base damage (not DPS). Your Heroic GS of Resistance (98-140 damage) will yield higher skill damage than Duke Magna's Provoking Warblade (59-110 damage) because of its higher base damage. The attack speed affects how often you can use skills, but not the damage each skill deals. The biggest impact is on animation speed, not on cast timers. So for Gillotine and Death Blow, you will notice the difference in the actual attack animation, not the charging, and having even just 20% attack speed is significantly faster.
