Right now everyone's claiming blue light defense without universally-accepted measurements for blue light protection so I'll hold off any judgment for now. I'll say these have only PA++ and PA+++ rating, and I'd use a separate sunscreen if possible. P.S. I just double-checked babes, and the old Laneige cushion refills don't lock into the new Neo Cushion cases, and are too tall to close the compacts over. Sad, cos I do have a couple of them to finish up. (My silly first world problems.)

oh yay, im so glad you did a review on these. im more interested in the neo matte, because anything glowy irritates my rosacea. however, the glow on the glow version was soo pretty ! my face tends to sweat very easily, so i am hoping the neo matte lasts through the humidity. thank you for the review !
If my sweating under a face mask was anything to go by, Neo Matte is quite good at withstanding it! I'd still suggest blotting lightly with tissue to remove the shine but it didn't start breaking down due to the moisture, unlike many other Korean cushions!

Hey Marielle, sorry for missing your msg earlier! 23 is close to and sometimes a bit lighter than a MAC NC20 and 25 is closer to or just slightly lighter than an NC25 if you're looking for a point of reference!

I know right?? The packaging is insanely cute... I think you'd have a shot of locating one online on some of the Korean beauty sites that ship internationally! A quick google should turn up a few cos they'll have English-language sites. I have dry skin too but I don't find the matte cushion dehydrating. It's supposed to provide 8-hrs of moisture as well, so it's more of a matte finish than an oil-absorbent formula, if that makes sense!

I ordered the 50% off old formula and im glad i chose the pore control (which is more moisturizing as claimed) over the oil control one after hearing your theory about your skin compensating for the lack of moisture on the matte side. I hope the formula suits my skin type. Btw those are not yet available here.
Abt MsIrene I probably should have clarified that the oil production wasn’t very bad still hahaha. It was 8 hrs with a couple of hours out in the heat wearing a mask, so actually it was not a lot of oil. Just a bit more than the Glow side!
I used the old Laneige bb cushion for years already. When i about to buy the refill (because of this pandemic, 1 refill last for more than 9 months lmao), only then i realised that they replace it with this new cushion. Fellow Singaporean here and seriously, I loved the fact that someone here is giving these no BS detailed reviews. I first came to check out the hype about the Shu Uemura petal brush then dropped in on this video because I'm now in the market for a cushion foundation. Still don't really agree on the method of application (you used a brush) for a cushion foundation so I'm not sure if that's affected the "test" a little. So anyway, good job and keep going. Looking forward to the corresponding follow up on the glow version.
Matt's SPF & PA are slightly lower than the Glow. Does it compromised in terms of sunscreen protection? Care to share about your opinion ? On the old version (pore control), I'm on 21N. What shade would you suggest to get for this Matt version ?

No sadly they don’t! The new ones have a twist mechanism which the old refills don’t have. Hahahah I wish it did cos I have some older refills I still want to use up!! And thank you for the sweet compliment!! 💋
I'm 190 currently! I would say 23N is round about a 180 for Fenty, and 190 is around a 25N. (I go between these 2 shades depending how tan I am. Hope this helps!)
Hi Farah, yes I have! 122 Sand is probably closest to my skintone and I use that more around the face, but I sometimes mix in a bit of 120 Light if I need more brightening under the eyes, if that makes sense!

Hi Stephanie, so sorry I didn't see your comment previously! The next shade is 27N! If you have trouble locating it, brands like Etude House, Aprilskin and ROM&ND (plus other brands on sites like yesstyle.com) are very nice, and start at a lower price point than the LANEIGE ones. Just note that some of the cheaper ones only come with a single foundation sponge, so you get less product. But the initial investment is not so pricey if you're still testing different formulas to see which one suits you!

Hi Tasha, I can't be 100% sure as there is no Clear Smooth here in Singapore, but from the comparisons online, it does seem like 17 or 21 would be the best. If Nude Beige sometimes looks a bit too deep for you in daylight, you can try 17. If Nude Beige looks sometimes a bit light on your skin when you first apply it, then you may want to try 21.
That's a Givenchy Teint Couture Everwear brush (it's a mouthful I know LOL)! It's got an almost heart-shaped slant cut that's quite good for depositing and smoothing out color and getting into tighter corners.
Hahaha the pink is still a great formula if you like a glow! I like it when I'm a bit more dry or I'm in a dry environment most of the day. You can always buy the mint after you're done with the pink and have a choice between which of the 2 cases to use!
I'm using Vanilla, and it seems to be 1-2 shades lighter than Light Beige, and 25N is likely a closer match to Golden Beige, so my best guess is #31 or #33 as there aren't that many shades available for these cushions, unfortunately!
Hi. Came across your video and am considering the neo cushion. 21 on their old cushion. I have oily t-zone but dry on the others. Which shade would u recommend me getting 21N or 23N for their matt & glow.
you may want to try 23N if you prefer the original 21 because the older color deepened a little bit after oxidizing but the new one doesn't deepen. If you match the new/fresh boxes of 21 but it's too dark on you after it oxidizes, then go with 21N!

Hi Esther, usually I apply the cushion first, then see where I need extra concealer. But there is no right or wrong way because cushions are patted on and don't "disturb" concealer if you like to apply that first! Often I will even apply concealer only under my eyes and cushion everywhere else, and I won't layer them. Cos many dewy cushions will crease and look cakey around the eyes. It really depends on your preference!

Hi Candice. I ran out and got both the Glow and Matte cushions after your review. I was the 21 in their older cushions, but in the Matte i was 23N and in Glow in 25N! Somehow they both looked like the old 21 on me. Do u find the colors run a tad lighter in these versions ?
Hi Joanne, I think slightly! But I think more for the Glow version than the Matte one also. I have both mine in 23N, but the Glow looks a bit paler than the Matte (partly cos of the light-reflecting pigments possibly). If you remember the old formulas, they oxidized, so a cushion that has sat around for awhile in the compact or on your face will go a deeper shade than it was when it was freshly made. These Neo ones don't oxidize much, especially the Glow formula which resists darkening, so it makes sense to get a slightly deeper tone that fits exactly.

I heard that Laneige’s shades are slightly darker than usual so 25 Missha would be slightly lighter than Laneige’s 25 and so on. I’m in a dilemma choosing which formula should I buy because I would like to cover my blemishes .. I’m a NC25 for MAC studio fix powder plus foundation and sephora 8hr mattifying compact foundation in 24 Vanilla which shade and formula would you recommend for me ?☺️
23N and 25N are both possible! It depends if you are on the lighter or tanner side of NC25. If your MAC NC25 is a perfect match in the morning when you put it on but looks a bit too tan at the end of the day, get the 23N. If your NC25 foundation looks slightly pale/ashy in the morning but fits you better after a few hours on the skin, then go with 25N. (Hope this makes sense!) Definitely suggest the Neo Matte formula as well, because it's made more for oily skins and has higher coverage, so it will cover marks and blemishes better! Neo Glow has less coverage and will also tend to emphasize any bumps or texture from recovering acne because of the slight glow.

Hi Andhina, yes I usually powder on the T-zone, and inner cheeks but not everywhere else cos my skin is quite dry! I definitely suggest powdering lightly if you live in a warm place! I should leave that in the video next time... sometimes I cut it out to make the video not too long hahaha.

The Glow one would definitely work better if you are dry! If you set with a little powder in areas it doesn't smear off and actually lasted pretty well for me.

Hi Candice! I'm using Mamonde's 23N for their cushion, and got 23N for this NEO GLOW. I'm guessing 23N should be okay since I saw some reviews that said it might be abit brighter due to the whitening effect but might also oxidize abit after a few hours 🙈
@@michieet Hi Michelle, I think 23N would be fine cos the Mamonde cushions also don't oxidize much, so it should be safe to get the same number! 23N sets slightly deeper (compared to when it's wet) but it doesn't continue to oxidize further during the day.
Hi Sandra, I believe the closest match will likely be 31N or 33N! 31N's undertones will fit a MAC NC30/35 more though, as the swatches I've seen online of the new 33N seem to suit an NW30 skintone.
Hi Dayna, as all the shades above a 25N are made for the Southeast Asian market (at the moment), so it may be hard to find deeper shades from Korean sellers. I've so far only seen them mostly on Southeast Asian ecommerce platforms like Lazada. Your best bet is probably to get on Lazada or Shopee and message some of the sellers to see who would be able to make an exception and ship it to the US for you!

Stephanie Preston-Mullins 31n is the next shade that is darker. I tried a lot of other cushions, but only like laneige. It’s just so difficult to get this new cushion in the US.
Hi AC, it really depends on your skin (degree of oiliness), the environment (how hot, humid or dry) and the finish you want (how luminous vs matte). I think for general resistance to oil and heat, Hera Black is definitely the way to go. It has a semi-matte finish that's not 100% matte. Neo Matte is 2nd most lasting for me and has a gorgeous velvet texture which the other cushions don't have, so if you have combi skin or are not super-oily, or you prefer a more airbrushed skin texture that hides pores, Neo Matte may be great. Dior Forever is more of a satin finish, not as matte as Black and Neo Matte. Hera Glow is really much more for slightly drier skins or cold/dry places when you want a very hydrated high-glow finish so it's completely different.
I have sensitive dehydrated skin, with very slight psoriasis eczema - only 2 very small patches near my eyes. Also I am a redhead with freckles and I'm sensitive to sun-damage. I live In Denmark - the climate is mostly dry in winter to more humid in summer. It rains relatively often and is windy. Which one would you recommend? I do like longer lasting coverage, but want my skin to feel healthy first and foremost. That's the reason I'm looking in to cushion instead of conventional foundation. also - I'm very confused as to what colour to order - I'm thinking either vanilla or cool beige.
Hi Jette, the pink one would likely be more soothing and comforting for dehydrated skin, as it has 5.7 times more hydrating ingredients than their previous cushion. As for the shade, it would be easier to gauge if you can share what other foundation shades you've used that were good matches. The Korean lines do cater to very fair skins, but I believe most of their pale tones are Neutral and the cooler tones only start from 21 up, which is round about a MAC NW15-20 or so. Before that though, have you already tried It Cosmetics' CC Creams? It does sound like their original CC Cream formula might be a great option for you because it combines lots of hydration with the same amount of coverage as medium-to-full foundations, and is formulated specifically for people who have sensitivities and rosacea to cover up. Not to digress from Laneige but I do find that formula truly good if you're concerned about having skincare benefits in your foundation.
@@IamCandiceKC I have previously tried the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Cushion Compact in the shade "120 Ivory". Haven't tried IT Cosmetics no...not yet :)
@@vanefreja86 The Neo cushion shade you match will likely be 17 Vanilla more than 21C Cool Beige, if going by Shiseido's 120, which is quite neutral (not very pink). Cool Beige is pinker, so it depends on what your body undertone is and whether you have any uneven redness on your cheeks that you want to cover a bit. If yes to redness on the cheeks, then 17 will be better to neutralize some redness. If your overall skin tone is quite pink overall, then 21C will match better.
Hi Cindy, do you mean the older 2 formulas? I used 23 and 21 because the older formulas oxidized and got darker over time. The Neo Glow cushion is a bit paler than the same number in the old formula cos they don't oxidize and contain some silver pigments. So if you use 23 in the BB cushions, you can try 25 for Neo Glow but probably stick with the same number for Neo Matte.

Hey babe, I go between NC20-25 depending on which foundation formula, how much it oxidizes, and whether I’m more tan or less tan! P.S. if you are closer to NC20 then a 23N would be ok. If you are leaning NC25-30 I’d go with 25N.

@@Taestan95 31N might be a touch too tan for NC30. Technically, I'd recommend 27N (Korean foundation shade) for NC30, but they sadly don't have it in this range. If NC30 is your Summer color I'd go with the 25N (as it's easier to bronze it up with bronzer or deeper face powder). Go for the 31N only if you prefer a tanner look or your body is quite tan compared to your face. As for the formula, both are hydrating (even the matte one has 8 hrs hydration) and they have a very lightweight texture on top of the skin so it should look great on mature skins as well!

i used the neo cushion glow whie using KN95 mask, it fully transferred but i love the way the formula sit on my skin , vey light weight, no creasing, so so light, so i dont mind
Hi Leang, 23N in this new Glow cushion is whiter than BB Whitening, so if you used 23 BB Whitening, you should buy a 25 Neo Glow, but you can use 23 Neo Matte.

Laneige has a 25 for the Neo cushions as well, depending on where you buy it! It should match the HERA 25 pretty well! If you're not able to find it, 23N would be the closest but may look a tiny bit paler.

Unfortunately as per usual the shade selection while better than most Korean brands but still really poor. Rlly don’t understand why it wouldn’t cater to women of colour when they want to launch internationally such as USA.
I'm not sure if these are meant to go to the US actually! Not unless they downgrade the sunscreens to the older filters approved by the FDA. In Korea they launched with 10 shades but you're right - it's still only up to a tan sort of color.
Hi Tricia, good on you for pointing that out. Actually, LANEIGE does manufacture deeper shades exclusively to cater to the southeast-asian market. The current range of cushions and concealers all go up to shade 37 which will suit beautiful chocolate-toned skin. I've personally seen this pretty lady try shade 37 on her dark cocoa skin-tone and it blended right in! I'm expecting that the NEO cushion will come in deeper shades for SEA too. But sadly, it does seem users in the US don't get access to these shades. Hmm....
Issie hmm hope the brand values diversity as singapore does have women do colour that would benefit from having a darker cushion foundation for once. If u come across any in Singapore do let me know :) been on the hunt for a friend but darkest seems to be 23N or like a 5 sand for Clio.
Haha thank you for the feedback and compliment! Yeah, makeup tends to always "flatten" and cover up any natural translucency, so most days I try to only use foundation around the undereye and inner cheek area to even out the skin tone and avoid it everywhere else. Skipping powder helps too!
I feel like skincare infused makeup is prob good for lazy people who dont like to apply skincare before putting on makeup. Its a waste for people who are diligent about skincare...
I know what you mean! I wouldn't walk out the door without proper skincare and sunscreen before makeup! I think it's partly also how some brands market skincare-infused or SPF-containing makeup as being your "one step" which creates a false sense of security. But then again, if it's between lazy folks using skincare-infused makeup versus walking out the door barefaced into the sun, I think I'd still encourage the makeup LOL! I'm over-enthusiastic enough (and also at that age) where if I can have extra protection and soothing ingredients in my makeup, I'd pick it over a similar-priced item without the skincare ingredients. But I won't compromise performance (how it looks) just for a gimmicky skincare claim!
Yeah I find the Glow formula to be slightly ashier cos of those "reflective diamond glow particles". I would have picked a 25N for that formula to reduce that "white-ness" if I'd been able to swatch it in-store. The Neo Matte settled into a nice warm-neutral tone after it dried down so I found it much better!

I know right?? The packaging is insanely cute... I think you'd have a shot of locating one online on some of the Korean beauty sites that ship internationally! A quick google should turn up a few cos they'll have English-language sites. I have dry skin too but I don't find the matte cushion dehydrating. It's supposed to provide 8-hrs of moisture as well, so it's more of a matte finish than an oil-absorbent formula, if that makes sense!
Makeup Box I just checked Yesstyle and it’s on there! If it’s a non-drying matte formula then I might just try it 🤩

I ordered the 50% off old formula and im glad i chose the pore control (which is more moisturizing as claimed) over the oil control one after hearing your theory about your skin compensating for the lack of moisture on the matte side. I hope the formula suits my skin type. Btw those are not yet available here.
Abt MsIrene I probably should have clarified that the oil production wasn’t very bad still hahaha. It was 8 hrs with a couple of hours out in the heat wearing a mask, so actually it was not a lot of oil. Just a bit more than the Glow side!

I first came to check out the hype about the Shu Uemura petal brush then dropped in on this video because I'm now in the market for a cushion foundation. Still don't really agree on the method of application (you used a brush) for a cushion foundation so I'm not sure if that's affected the "test" a little. So anyway, good job and keep going. Hi Pao Pao, you can apply this directly after sunscreen. It is already a foundation so you don't need a separate one!

I'm 190 currently! I would say 23N is round about a 180 for Fenty, and 190 is around a 25N. (I go between these 2 shades depending how tan I am. Hope this helps!)

Hi Farah, yes I have! 122 Sand is probably closest to my skintone and I use that more around the face, but I sometimes mix in a bit of 120 Light if I need more brightening under the eyes, if that makes sense!

Hi Stephanie, so sorry I didn't see your comment previously! The next shade is 27N! If you have trouble locating it, brands like Etude House, Aprilskin and ROM&ND (plus other brands on sites like yesstyle.com) are very nice, and start at a lower price point than the LANEIGE ones. Just note that some of the cheaper ones only come with a single foundation sponge, so you get less product. But the initial investment is not so pricey if you're still testing different formulas to see which one suits you!

Hi Tasha, I can't be 100% sure as there is no Clear Smooth here in Singapore, but from the comparisons online, it does seem like 17 or 21 would be the best. If Nude Beige sometimes looks a bit too deep for you in daylight, you can try 17. If Nude Beige looks sometimes a bit light on your skin when you first apply it, then you may want to try 21.

That's a Givenchy Teint Couture Everwear brush (it's a mouthful I know LOL)! It's got an almost heart-shaped slant cut that's quite good for depositing and smoothing out color and getting into tighter corners.

Hahaha the pink is still a great formula if you like a glow! I like it when I'm a bit more dry or I'm in a dry environment most of the day. You can always buy the mint after you're done with the pink and have a choice between which of the 2 cases to use!

I'm using Vanilla, and it seems to be 1-2 shades lighter than Light Beige, and 25N is likely a closer match to Golden Beige, so my best guess is #31 or #33 as there aren't that many shades available for these cushions, unfortunately!

Hi. Came across your video and am considering the neo cushion. 21 on their old cushion. I have oily t-zone but dry on the others. Which shade would u recommend me getting 21N or 23N for their matt & glow.
you may want to try 23N if you prefer the original 21 because the older color deepened a little bit after oxidizing but the new one doesn't deepen. If you match the new/fresh boxes of 21 but it's too dark on you after it oxidizes, then go with 21N!

Hi Esther, usually I apply the cushion first, then see where I need extra concealer. But there is no right or wrong way because cushions are patted on and don't "disturb" concealer if you like to apply that first!
Often I will even apply concealer only under my eyes and cushion everywhere else, and I won't layer them. Cos many dewy cushions will crease and look cakey around the eyes. It really depends on your preference!

Hi Mitch, I go between NC20-25 depending on the formula! NC25 is close to 25N for Laneige, and NC30/35 = 27N if you were wondering!

Hi Candice. I ran out and got both the Glow and Matte cushions after your review. I was the 21 in their older cushions, but in the Matte i was 23N and in Glow in 25N! Somehow they both looked like the old 21 on me. Do u find the colors run a tad lighter in these versions ?
Hi Joanne, I think slightly! But I think more for the Glow version than the Matte one also. I have both mine in 23N, but the Glow looks a bit paler than the Matte (partly cos of the light-reflecting pigments possibly). If you remember the old formulas, they oxidized, so a cushion that has sat around for awhile in the compact or on your face will go a deeper shade than it was when it was freshly made. These Neo ones don't oxidize much, especially the Glow formula which resists darkening, so it makes sense to get a slightly deeper tone that fits exactly.
Makeup Box oh that makes complete sense. Lucky i went for a closest most natural match to skin!

Hi May, 25N would probably be perfect for you! 23N is around NC20-25 and 27N is prob closer to an NC30.

I’m in a dilemma choosing which formula should I buy because I would like to cover my blemishes .. I’m a NC25 for MAC studio fix powder plus foundation and sephora 8hr mattifying compact foundation in 24 Vanilla which shade and formula would you recommend for me ?☺️
23N and 25N are both possible! It depends if you are on the lighter or tanner side of NC25.
If your MAC NC25 is a perfect match in the morning when you put it on but looks a bit too tan at the end of the day, get the 23N. If your NC25 foundation looks slightly pale/ashy in the morning but fits you better after a few hours on the skin, then go with 25N. (Hope this makes sense!)
Definitely suggest the Neo Matte formula as well, because it's made more for oily skins and has higher coverage, so it will cover marks and blemishes better! Neo Glow has less coverage and will also tend to emphasize any bumps or texture from recovering acne because of the slight glow.

Hi Andhina, yes I usually powder on the T-zone, and inner cheeks but not everywhere else cos my skin is quite dry! I definitely suggest powdering lightly if you live in a warm place! I should leave that in the video next time... sometimes I cut it out to make the video not too long hahaha.

The Glow one would definitely work better if you are dry! If you set with a little powder in areas it doesn't smear off and actually lasted pretty well for me.

Hi Candice! I'm using Mamonde's 23N for their cushion, and got 23N for this NEO GLOW. I'm guessing 23N should be okay since I saw some reviews that said it might be abit brighter due to the whitening effect but might also oxidize abit after a few hours 🙈
@@michieet Hi Michelle, I think 23N would be fine cos the Mamonde cushions also don't oxidize much, so it should be safe to get the same number! 23N sets slightly deeper (compared to when it's wet) but it doesn't continue to oxidize further during the day.

Hi Sandra, I believe the closest match will likely be 31N or 33N! 31N's undertones will fit a MAC NC30/35 more though, as the swatches I've seen online of the new 33N seem to suit an NW30 skintone.

Hi Dayna, as all the shades above a 25N are made for the Southeast Asian market (at the moment), so it may be hard to find deeper shades from Korean sellers. I've so far only seen them mostly on Southeast Asian ecommerce platforms like Lazada. Your best bet is probably to get on Lazada or Shopee and message some of the sellers to see who would be able to make an exception and ship it to the US for you!

Hi AC, it really depends on your skin (degree of oiliness), the environment (how hot, humid or dry) and the finish you want (how luminous vs matte).
I think for general resistance to oil and heat, Hera Black is definitely the way to go. It has a semi-matte finish that's not 100% matte.
Neo Matte is 2nd most lasting for me and has a gorgeous velvet texture which the other cushions don't have, so if you have combi skin or are not super-oily, or you prefer a more airbrushed skin texture that hides pores, Neo Matte may be great.
Dior Forever is more of a satin finish, not as matte as Black and Neo Matte.
Hera Glow is really much more for slightly drier skins or cold/dry places when you want a very hydrated high-glow finish so it's completely different.

I have sensitive dehydrated skin, with very slight psoriasis eczema - only 2 very small patches near my eyes. Also I am a redhead with freckles and I'm sensitive to sun-damage. I live In Denmark - the climate is mostly dry in winter to more humid in summer. It rains relatively often and is windy.
Which one would you recommend? I do like longer lasting coverage, but want my skin to feel healthy first and foremost. That's the reason I'm looking in to cushion instead of conventional foundation. also - I'm very confused as to what colour to order - I'm thinking either vanilla or cool beige.
Hi Jette, the pink one would likely be more soothing and comforting for dehydrated skin, as it has 5.7 times more hydrating ingredients than their previous cushion. As for the shade, it would be easier to gauge if you can share what other foundation shades you've used that were good matches. The Korean lines do cater to very fair skins, but I believe most of their pale tones are Neutral and the cooler tones only start from 21 up, which is round about a MAC NW15-20 or so.
Before that though, have you already tried It Cosmetics' CC Creams? It does sound like their original CC Cream formula might be a great option for you because it combines lots of hydration with the same amount of coverage as medium-to-full foundations, and is formulated specifically for people who have sensitivities and rosacea to cover up. Not to digress from Laneige but I do find that formula truly good if you're concerned about having skincare benefits in your foundation.

@@vanefreja86 The Neo cushion shade you match will likely be 17 Vanilla more than 21C Cool Beige, if going by Shiseido's 120, which is quite neutral (not very pink). Cool Beige is pinker, so it depends on what your body undertone is and whether you have any uneven redness on your cheeks that you want to cover a bit. If yes to redness on the cheeks, then 17 will be better to neutralize some redness. If your overall skin tone is quite pink overall, then 21C will match better.

Hi Cindy, do you mean the older 2 formulas? I used 23 and 21 because the older formulas oxidized and got darker over time. The Neo Glow cushion is a bit paler than the same number in the old formula cos they don't oxidize and contain some silver pigments. So if you use 23 in the BB cushions, you can try 25 for Neo Glow but probably stick with the same number for Neo Matte.

@@Taestan95 31N might be a touch too tan for NC30. Technically, I'd recommend 27N (Korean foundation shade) for NC30, but they sadly don't have it in this range.
If NC30 is your Summer color I'd go with the 25N (as it's easier to bronze it up with bronzer or deeper face powder). Go for the 31N only if you prefer a tanner look or your body is quite tan compared to your face.
As for the formula, both are hydrating (even the matte one has 8 hrs hydration) and they have a very lightweight texture on top of the skin so it should look great on mature skins as well!

Laneige has a 25 for the Neo cushions as well, depending on where you buy it! It should match the HERA 25 pretty well! If you're not able to find it, 23N would be the closest but may look a tiny bit paler.

Unfortunately as per usual the shade selection while better than most Korean brands but still really poor. Rlly don’t understand why it wouldn’t cater to women of colour when they want to launch internationally such as USA.
I'm not sure if these are meant to go to the US actually! Not unless they downgrade the sunscreens to the older filters approved by the FDA. In Korea they launched with 10 shades but you're right - it's still only up to a tan sort of color.
Hi Tricia, good on you for pointing that out. Actually, LANEIGE does manufacture deeper shades exclusively to cater to the southeast-asian market. The current range of cushions and concealers all go up to shade 37 which will suit beautiful chocolate-toned skin. I've personally seen this pretty lady try shade 37 on her dark cocoa skin-tone and it blended right in! I'm expecting that the NEO cushion will come in deeper shades for SEA too. But sadly, it does seem users in the US don't get access to these shades. Hmm....

Haha thank you for the feedback and compliment! Yeah, makeup tends to always "flatten" and cover up any natural translucency, so most days I try to only use foundation around the undereye and inner cheek area to even out the skin tone and avoid it everywhere else. Skipping powder helps too!
I feel like skincare infused makeup is prob good for lazy people who dont like to apply skincare before putting on makeup. Its a waste for people who are diligent about skincare...
I know what you mean! I wouldn't walk out the door without proper skincare and sunscreen before makeup! I think it's partly also how some brands market skincare-infused or SPF-containing makeup as being your "one step" which creates a false sense of security.
But then again, if it's between lazy folks using skincare-infused makeup versus walking out the door barefaced into the sun, I think I'd still encourage the makeup LOL! I'm over-enthusiastic enough (and also at that age) where if I can have extra protection and soothing ingredients in my makeup, I'd pick it over a similar-priced item without the skincare ingredients. But I won't compromise performance (how it looks) just for a gimmicky skincare claim!

Yeah I find the Glow formula to be slightly ashier cos of those "reflective diamond glow particles". I would have picked a 25N for that formula to reduce that "white-ness" if I'd been able to swatch it in-store. The Neo Matte settled into a nice warm-neutral tone after it dried down so I found it much better!
