1 Corinthians 15:3-10
God's grace is the unmerited favor , unearned benefit, or undeserved kindness.
-It is God's amazing gift of forgiveness of sin and power to live with dignity in the present and hope for the future.
Justice - gives us the punishment that we deserved.
Mercy is the act of withholding deserved punishment .
Grace is the act of endowing unmerited favor.
What motivates a christian to keep going and to live his faith steadfastly inspite the persecutions , and keeps him on the right tract when everything around him tends to be going the opposite direction.
Even the martyrs of faith, what made them keeping with God; because they see the grace of God and experience it.
3 Motivating factor to keep us in faith by the grace of God.
1. The grace of God is a divine attitude.
V.10
Paul said, i am what i am because of the grace of God.
Paul gave 2 different view of himself.
* firstly-being apostle.
-a position of privilege , and of authority and responsibility.
*secondly being abnormally born.
- unsatisfactory , unpleasant
* its a struggle of his identity.
But the grace of God upon his life change the way he look at himself.
Abnormally born - a failed condition.
1 Tim.1:15
2.The grace of God is a dynamic stimulus . V.10
*Understanding the grace of God is to be ignited by the most powerful motivating factor we can ever experience. The grace of God was not wasted on him.
One thing a believer motivates him is the understanding that we are what we are by the grace of God and when that taken hold of us we discover that grace produce gratitude in our lives.
I am convinced that one of the greatest need of the churches today is for the people to grasp the grace of God to ignite them to serve God.
3.The grace of God is a daily enabling power in our life. V.10
* Enabling grace refers to the power of God's grace to enable christians to live godly, obedient lives.
-Enabling grace of God not only save us but gave us new heart , new strength and everything we need to to follow and honor Him.
And keeping God's command and living righteously is only possible through God's supernatural help.
1 Corinthintians 15:10
Apostle Paul, the greatest persecutor of christians prior to his conversion, but God's grace radically his life and empowered Him for ministry. It was an active grace ( not passive)pushing Paul to labor abundantly empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Philippians 4:13
The consistent pattern is that God God pours out his favour and power to equip christians's obedience beyind natural human ability.
Conclusion:
Christians live everyday by the grace of God. We recieved forgiveness according to the riches of God's grace and grace drives our sanctification. Apostle Paul tells us the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation for all people training us to renounce ungodliness and wordly passions and to live self controlled upright and godly lives , Titus 2:11. Spiritual growth doesnt happen overnight .We grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. .
