One thing that is consistent every time I watch a WDR video is how the members are always expressing joy in the music they are playing. Whether it be openly smiling (almost laughing in some cases) or body language, it is always present.
In the beginning it is not as dynamic as Michael Kamen and The Greater Los Angeles Orchestra did it with the original score. In some aspect it sounds cleaner but it is also more softer. I love Kamen's work and I listen to some of his scores each month and I know many of them by heart. Altogether It is good that his talent is not forgotten and they touch his legacy with respect.
When I was a high school student, I used to play the horn in the brass band club. The eight sections of the treble ending with "ra" was very difficult. It sounds beautiful and wonderful.
The very first time I listened to it live, so not from the movie sound track, was in 1999 at the Edimburgh Castle, played by the Highland’s Infantry Battalion fanfare
I agree with this suggestion, and I'm also curious... why this particular arrangement (that differs so much from the original soundtrack)? Much "thinner" texture and the talent in this ensemble could DEFINITELY handle a more challenging arrangement and increased tempo... on the positive side... the dynamics and intonation here are GREAT!
I feel if you don't have the personnel to do the original orchestration, it shouldn't be performed. And it's way too slow here. Sorry. Excellent players, though.
Oh lord there’s nothing wrong with it being slightly different from the original. I grew up with this theme and still this version sounds great to me. If you want it exactly like the original go listen to the OST tracks.
@@devthriders It's not slightly different, it's much different. The magic of this piece is the orchestration and the brisk tempi. I usually enjoy the variations of different performances but this was way off. And listen to the original was exactly what i did.
Movies these days are missing scores like this
This next to the Braveheart theme. . Was everything
My man.. golden words!

We are really happy to be playing all of these beautiful pieces of music for you! 🤗
This dude was head and shoulders above Hans Zimmer. And I say this as a fan of Zimmer since "Rainman" and "Black Rain" in the 80s.
It took me back to my childhood in the 90s when we used to gather to watch the series of the movie in our neighbourhood
Memories:)

100% agree. Tempo was too slow. It lacked the “pop” that Karen recorded.
Wonderful and well played!
Thank you! 🤗
Die größte....beste filmmusik überhaupt....!!!

Amazing
There's nothing I can say that's positive enough to describe this.

Vielen Dank für diese wunderschöne Aufnahme.

Schön, dass sie Ihnen gefällt.
1.15x speed works perfectly :D

Ganz gut, aber für meinen Geschmack ist etwas zu langsam gespielt.
Stimmt, nur so ein kleinen Tick zu langsam.
Please increase the tempo next time maybe 👏👏👏
Thanks for the Feedback!
Increasing the playback speed to x1.25 actually works. That’s the about the speed of what the actual track should be played at👌🏼

Perfection🤍
Zwei Wörter: Zu Langsam.
Way too slow. Performed cleanly but it lacks the pep of the original score.
Nice but too slow
1.25x speed

I had to fast play it so it sounded a little bit like the original
