Stevie Wonder is a genius. This seemingly simple song has so much depth to it. The tune is simple but catchy but the lyrics are far more than they seem. First is the sentiment. A simple statement of love, calling a loved one. Then there's the eloquence of the words, the rhyme making it seem like a sonnet. Calling someone to tell them you love them not because it was a special day that reminded you of them, but rather it came from the heart. Then, what was not apparent to me before was how he started with New Year and goes through the seasons, months of the year to come full circle back until the end of the year. To put all of this in a deceptively simple song is quite frankly genius. Stevie is a prodigy.

Don't know the race of others in these comments but I'm a AAW whose beginning to HATE all other races because they've been so hateful toward my people simply because of the way Europeans portray us to be.
