Instead of players accepting that Texas was going to score regardless of what they do like they did during the Riley-Grinch era, Venables-Roof's team refused to give up and accept the statistically "inevitable". Pure Heart!
Why would we want to be ranked that high this early?? Look at our history. Our history shows everytime we open the season ranked #1 or get ranked really high during the season we fall flat on our faces. We need to stay out of the top 5 until the end of the season then move up in the top 4 and handle business. Its much easier getting there than staying there.

And they basically described it as Ewers flipping around to throw to the opposite side. I had never seen the play before, but when I instantly recognized it when I saw it in this game. So glad the defense blew that up. Definitely seemed like an "Oh shxt!" moment for Ewers when he spun around and saw Downs coming at him. 😂
Billy Bowman, at the goal line caused Texas to turnover on downs, jars the ball from receiver at the 1 to cause turnover & pops QB causing his fumble. 3 huge plays.

But we eventually did when we lost to Kansas a few weeks later. Kanak tried doing his best Ethan Downs impersonation on what would've been another epic goal line stand, but that Kanak penalty negated it and allowed Kansas to score. 😑

"The hit"? Is that when Scott Hill laid out Tony Dorsett in '76? A little before my time, but I've heard a few this about it. I was born in '77.
