- This is Of Mice & Men's first ever acoustic set. I was lucky enough to be in front because of waiting from 11am to 1pm just to see my heroes preform this. I apologize for the watermark though, I didn't want anyone stealing the video or making gifs without my credit of the video as it kinda has been with a past video. Enjoy! I tried to fit in as much as possible :)
I love how Austin smiled the entire time, it proves how much he loves being where he is and how grateful he is for everyone who got him there, and the fans for supporting him and everything. This is also the first time I've ever heard Austin sing and I must say he has quite the vocal cords. I hope to hear more of him singing in their next album or in future shows or something, I don't know, but that would be pretty awesome [=

Hey guys, if you're reading this well I've been seeing a lot of negativity on this video about how it "ruined" Of Mice & Men. To be honest, Of mice & Men did a great job considering they don't do much of this. But you all have your personal opinion which is completely okay. :)
And yes it does bother me that people were only focused on Austin, if you can't tell I was trying to get Alan's attention for he was right in front of me, and I really wish he (Austin) didn't get all the attention because it was really Aaron, Alan, Phil & Tino who did a lot of it, and they deserve a lot of love! I absolutely adore all of them, they make great music. But anyways, just please be nice to each other on this, yes you have your own opinions which is completely understandable but just don't type it out in a harsh way. We're all in the Of Mice & Men family so just be kind and just don't let the negativity into this. Thank you! and enjoy the video if you haven't already.
Amanda Carlile one thing I'm just a little peanut butter and jelly of is how so much better Aaron's falsettos are than mine, and I'm a chick and a soprano in choir... lol jk, I still love and support ALL of OMAM through thick and thin, and even if Austin's no longer a part of the band, I also love him for being him no matter what!

Austin's vocals aren't perfect but I personally LOVE them. And Aaron ROCKED it. Tino was pretty funny with his little drums, and Alan was just awesome on guitar. Phil is so sick on guitar and it was beautiful.
austin was a little out of place but who cares…not really his thing. Aaron on the other hand was amazing
Just a little side note: what Tino is playing is called the Cajon. Super cool little acoustic instrument. :)
Chris Walt Yea Austin was a little out of place you're right, but in my opinion his voice is so beautiful (Not in a weird way) but still I love his voice and I think he should do some clean vocals too in songs more

austin's clean vocals . i literally started crying it was to beautiful!

Okay so I'm gonna tell a little story of my experience of this day. I was in the back of the area where people were sitting. You know, almost crying my eyes out because they mean so much to me and what not. I'm watching this beautiful acoustic set and my heart melted.They got up to leave and only then I realized i forgot to pass my letter up to them. It basically just talked about how much I loved them and how they have helped me and so on. I started freaking out because I didn't get my letter to them and I was all upset. Immediately after they finished this set they ran to the bus area and everyone followed including myself and my friend I made go with me to warped tour. If you haven't been to warped tour before the bus area is just the place where all the busses for the bands and crew are parked until they leave. It's blocked off by a fence and a security guard. The band waved and started walking to their bus. I'm still flipping out because I didn't get my letter and I was standing right in front of the opening in the fence. I was standing next to some random girl who also had a letter in her hand. The security guard turned around and walked a couple feet away giving me the perfect opportunity. I looked at my friend and the random girl before we all nodded and walked casually into the bus area without being stopped. Of Mice & Men were getting closer to their tour bus so we started sprinting. Their manager turned around just as they got to their bus and was all like "you guys can't come any closer to the bus" I was freaking out because I was only about 20 feet from Alan and Aaron, the rest of the band had already gotten on the bus. I as calmly as i possibly could answered the manager guy with "Okay but I have to get this letter to them its extremely important." The random girl that went with me agreed and explained how she had to get her letter to them also. The manager guy nodded and took the letters and just stood there I guess to make sure we didn't go closer. Alan and Aaron were still standing their talking to each other so I decided to talk to them. I called Alan's name before saying hi and waving. He just smiled and waved back. Then I looked at Aaron. (If anyone saw on twitter Aaron had been complaining about how people were throwing stuff at him the night before during their set and he was extremely pissed off about it) I felt bad about what happened to him so I said the first thing that came to my mind. "AARON IM SO SORRY PEOPLE THREW THINGS AT YOU DURING YOUR SET YESTERDAY" Aaron laughed before responding with "hey its okay shit happens" then the manager guy made us leave. By the time I got out of the bus area I was hysterical crying. I was so happy I had actually had a conversation with Aaron and Alan waved at me and everything. Of Mice & Men mean so much to me I can't even explain it and to know that my letter got to them means the world to me. That was the best day of my life. It was only about 2:30 at the time and the rest of the day was great too.

It's funny, Austin has like nothing to do because he can't sing....but Aaron...Jesus. That man has pipes. I might go gay for him....I just might.
No austin can sing. He's just a lot more of a screamer. And yeah Aaron fucking kicks ass.
Not very well, lets be honest.
Well he is doing the low harmonies, which are incredibly difficult. Unlike the higher harmonies where you can just sing fifths or the melody an octave higher, lower harmonies are like a guitar solo translated to a downtuned bass. They also come out much softer. It's not fun. Austin is on the note, and he is a screamer putting a melody to dissonant vocals. So I am pretty impressed with him. Doesn't measure up to the extravagant harmonies on say a Pierce The Veil record or the whopping 60 voices on Bohemian Rhapsody but for small acoustic set where a screamer would be completely obsolete the guy held up.
I can't stand vic fuentes' voice so I can't really compare.
JxC well this vid isn't really a great representation of austin's clean vocals. so yeah. he's definitely sang better. and like matthew mentioned it's harder to do lower harmonies.
They should really release an acoustic EP. I love them doing this, it's really awesome. Especially because their songs involve so much screaming (which there's no problem with), it's incredible that they could sing it in acoustic. I love this band so much.
I feel a bit ashamed to be part of this fanbase. Not for the band. The band is incredible. Just the fact that I associate myself with the fangirls. Give a little more credit to the rest of the band. Yeah Austin is an incredibly talented heavy vocalist but Aaron doesn't get enough credit. His cleans are amazing. And Alan and Phil can shred. Tino happens to be my favorite member mostly because I'm also a drummer and his drumming style is one I try to study besides Mike Fuentes and Cory LaQuay. Tino's drumming is incredible. Those fangirls aren't fans of OM&M. They're fans of Austin.
What you're saying is incredibly accurate, the rest of the band are so unappreciated and they deserve to have way more recognition and it shouldn't be all about the front man.
I honestly couldn't agree more to this comment. People don't give Alan, Phil, Aaron and Tino as much love and support as Austin does and it's sad.
I agree with what u're saying. The music wouldn't be there if was just Austin and Aaron, Phil, Tino and Alan are amazingly talented and deserve more attention. However, please don't assume all teenage girls are fangirls and all fangirls don't appreciate the rest of the band.
***** I never said that all girls are fangirls or just because a girl listens to the band automatically makes her a fangirl. Also never mentioned that every single fangirl is guilty of this. All I'm saying is there are too man fangirls that don't give the rest of the band the credit and appreciation they deserve. They act like Austin is the whole band. Without the rest of the members working in unison the band would not exist.
I feel you man, its saddening that this is exactly the reason OM&M is no longer OM&M. When Shayley was around the band was absolutely the best and the flood was about as far from generic as possible. But he left because he didn't get any recognition, so thank you fan girls for ruining it.

yeah its kinda sad how pathetic fangirls ruined it. ITS NOT ALL ABOUT AUSTIN. THIS IS A 5 PIECE BAND. GIVE THEM ALL THE CREDIT THEY DESERVE.
They should do this more often!! :-) It sounds phenomenal, it's amazing to hear Austin's voice in this form.

Austin's cleans are actually not too bad. You could tell that he was kind of nervous to sing instead of scream, but it's also evident that he does it for the fans and because he genuinely enjoys what he does. Added respect to him for that. The rest of the band seemed like they enjoyed shaking things up a bit and doing something different (which I think they should do more of, but that's just me.) They did a great fucking job.

This is like the 22nd time I've watched this...I seriously can not get enough!!!
I focused more on Austin in the sense that clean vocals are a big thing for him he doesn't do clean vocals. I was really proud of him, he looked extremely nervous at first but he did amazing. the band was awesome altogether. it was the sense of Austin doing clean vocals. they were great Of Mice & Men should do acoustic more often.
I'm not trying to sound like an asshole, but what happened in the last year? OM&M's fans are now mostly scene fangirls... It's like a Sleeping With Sirens afterparty in this video.
IKR! Sws and omam use to have a decent fan base but now it's all these scene fan girls who only care about Austin like ???? Why??? What about tino and his drumming? What about Alan? How he's so young and like 7 years apart from the oldest but still manages to play as maturely as the others especially when he plays acoustic? What about Phil and the way he kills it, both acoustic and rock? And Aaron? What about Aaron? His voice omg. I'm not bashing on girls that are fans of omam for I am a girl myself, but it's frustrating having a fan base of just fan girls who are only fans of Austin and scream the. Whole. Fucking. Time. I'm proud of the band and to be part of this fanbase but not part of the sub-section of fangirls.I appreciate the music and how Austin looks like he has just about nothing to do,but the band works so hard to try to give us everything they think we want and I appreciate their time and effort in their music enough to cover up my disgust for the fangirls.I came for the music,I stayed for their music.That is all.

I am a fan of the whole band and not just Austin, Alan is actually my favorite honestly.They did so well for this being their first acoustic set! I might see them in concert in San Diego, Ca. I really hope so this band, along with a couple others, have saved my life, I can't thank them enough. And thank you, Amanda, for getting this on video. I love it so much!! Austin smiled the whole song, that's beautiful. They all rocked it Aaron is an important factor in this band. But seriously Phil and Alan are just smiling at the fans and they are actually just wonderful! Tino might be in the back but that's okay he keeps everything together just perfect.

I played that date of Warped one year ago. I actually talked to Allen for a bit before the venue opened near the wall that separated the two parts of the venue. I was putting up flyers when i saw him, chatted and gave him my bands card. We were a band from Detroit called Aim Your Arrows. We all had different bright colored hair.

oh man i wish i was there! I'm seeing them in southampton (in the UK) in march and can't wait. Ive only just got into this band like two months ago after hearing bits my brother played and wow they are quickly becoming my favourite artists - i know they will prob play a lot of Restoring Force but hope they play a lot of their old stuff too, i know they changed singers but still think they might do their old stuff? anyway they are amazing, they look like they have a loyal and big fan base and I'm glad - they deserve it, much love to OM&M

To give you my experience at Warped Tour,yes it was mainly girls there for the acoustic.Most of the guys decided to wait for their main set.I mean they were guys at the acoustic definitely,but the girls outnumbered them.
OM&M has a lot of guy fans, girls just sing a lot higher so the guys blend in with the band more lolol.

Actually there were a ton of guys there, they just weren't singing, just mainly mouthing the words but it was half and half which was pretty cool. :)

i love how nervous austin looked to use clean vocals. and while he needs a little work, i think it's mostly because he was thinking about the fact that he had to use them in songs he would normally scream. but i've heard him when he's just singing along with songs that aren't his and he's good! i think he just got a little caught up in the idea that they were his songs and he was nervous. but i'm sure if OM&M continue to do acoustic stuff once in a while, he'll shake off some of the nerves and blow us away again
