most of the things that went hard seem to have contained sugar (ketchup and bbq have a significant amount of sugar, toothpaste often has sugar or sweeteners), which probably caramelized or otherwise congealed over time. products intended for skin (as well as mayo, being oil and eggs) contain a lot of natural oils that don't play nice with plastics- ask anyone who's tried using normal hair products on a wig. oils are harder to fully remove and will build up over time if not totally cleaned, which is how you get greasy fur.
the acetone and ethanol, being high-strength chemicals, most likely dissolved parts of the plastic into one another (why they became solid).
i would definitely warn against using large amounts of essential oils despite how well it did; the synthetic fur might be fine, but certain essential oils (namely tea tree, and eucalyptus which is actually toxic if ingested) can give you chemical burns if left on your skin for a long time.
vodka (or vinegar) and water however is a tried-and-true method for spot cleaning fabrics, especially things you don't generally want to get soaked through in a machine- just make sure nothing ELSE you clean your suit with will react with them.
So.. go on a diet
Acetic acid or vinegar is actually commonly used as a disinfectant, and vodka has a good amount of high purity ethanol in it. I believe the difference between the ethanol and vodka this would be the other components of the vodka and the fact that commercially available ethanol is not nearly and pure and clean as ethanol in beverages.
PupperCut oh i knew vodka had ethanol in it, i assumed it was the reverse and that straight commercial ethanol would be more pure but that makes more sense.
also i forgot to specify but vinegar specifically when combined with other substances (namely bleach, which pocari has used to clean her suit before, and is something i know people use to whiten suits) can be hazardous. in the case of bleach, mixing the two can produce chlorine gas, which is highly toxic.
Divonne Retribution ya you gotta have the least amount of contaminants in anything edible.

We Know The Ketchup
*Shout shout shout at the ketchup!* *Glam Metal riffs play*
@@blazewarriorwolf Pantera, Mustard magic album. Going back to their roots lol
Sokul krasnyachukov I haven't really heard a whole lot of Pantera but I love what I have heard! Personally my favorite bands are Scorpions, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Black Sabbath, Of Mice & Men(Metalcore band), Marilyn Manson, Judas Priest, Death(Death Metal band), Rammstein, Metallica, and Skillet! Anyway, that sounds hilarious and fitting for this video
...Is that Chemical Plant Zone I hear in the background
Pocari I love you lol
Now it will be stuck in my head for a week at least
28 now =(
Is stormii! I luv ur channel! Stormi is best furry youtuber. And thats a fact!
“Some shampoo” *shows conditioner* “and conditioner” *shows shampoo*
Perfection¡
probably because it’s a voiceover??
Actually, she was saying she had both and had to slow down to grab both cause she is holding a camera
👁👄👁
Pocari: Rather than wait for a horrible fursuiting accident
*Flashbacks to the goose poo accident of 2017*
edit: guys I'm referring to a video clip where Pocari is running in suit through a field and they trip and fall in goose poo. It's on the channel.
Wait, what?
The what O-O
whAT!??!
H u h ?
What a nightmare-
that person working in the shop must been like "why tf is she buying all this"

Keep people from skipping through your video.

When my most favorite fursuit advice giver replies to a comment you made.
Probably no one:
Me: jesus. Whenever you do something good for me, hell follows shortly after. What does this mean for me....
Definitely not taking notes to keeping a future fursuit clean.
When I was on a road trip with my friend I brought my fursuit tail with me and I then accidentally spilled a bit of coke on my tail. It was a white tail so it didn't look to good. Thankfully I got it out
My Brain: What was ur fav part?
Me: The vid was my fav part
My Brain: thats not a pa-
Me: shut up im watching another
magic mustard and evil ketchup... I guess I never thought of it that way since I always eat them mixed together lol.
this was actually a very interesting experiment, and now I know more things to be careful about. I think that you should start another series called "pocari experiments" where you do all kinds of crazy science stuff and experiments on fur to see what works and what doesn't, because there are a lot more things you can do to test this stuff, and I think it would be pretty interesting to watch! it would probably also be kinda fun for you to record those videos
2:07 “good ol coles barbecue sauce,”
As a connoisseur of tasty treats and a verified aussie, I can assure you that coles bbq sauce is among some of “realist of deals” when it comes to condiments belonging in a Bunnings Snag. 🧐
Still not so good with fursuits.
My grandmother used to use vodka to remove stains
Me: Sees this on my recommended
Also me: "Oh yeah..."
acetone will eat some plastics. im actually surprised how the fur did in that. i was expecting a molten mass of plastic.
It's usually stuff like polystyrene (styrofoam) that disolves.
Great video, super informative. I did notice a minor error tho! When you were first checking the acetone sample, despite describing it as having a really bad texture, your graphic showed the texture as 5 stars
Yeahhhh my bad 😅 this vid was so huge that replaying my edits were like 2 seconds per frame, and exporting alone was 2 hours. Being already 3 days late i didnt have time to comb for errors 😓
Pocari Roo ahh I can imagine! It’s not a huge issue since your audio, and frankly the appearance of the fur, makes the point plenty well!
Even in swatches it pained me when she drowned them.
Pocari, this is an AMAZING video!!! You obviously worked so hard on it and it really paid off, it's such a detailed and helpful video! Probably one of my favorites of yours! :3 Keep on being awesome, I love your vids!!
16:35 It feels like a French fry. 5 stars, French fry’s are awesome!
This video was more focused on what stains faux fur the worst, and while I know what to avoid to put on my suit, I’d love to watch a similar video on what cleans faux fur the best ! I know you already made a video on that subject, but seeing you test recommended cleaning routines would be awesome. Like various isopropyl/water ratios, carpet cleaner brands, brush types and techniques, laundry detergents, etc. If that would be too complicated to do, maybe you could just make a video reviewing several kinds of fursuit shampoo that are sold in the fandom.
Thank you for your dedication, this video was awesome to watch !
This was actually really really fun to watch! Thank you roo!!!
Excellent choice in background music, I bet Stormi the Folf liked it XD
Making this video must have been a terribly long and painful process. You relay need to respect the effort that Pocari goes to to give us quality content.
I feel really pleased that the age old theatre trick of spraying costumes with vodka to kill germs/smell really doesn't effect the fur at all! I'm definitely going to keep using it as my go-to for quick cleans
Thank you for everything you’ve done! I’m making my own fursuit snow because of your videos!! Thank you for being so amazing!
It's nice to see an Australian UA-cam fursuiter since I too am from Australia! Go Aussies!!
this really helped!!! never in my life have i used fur or ever touched a fursuit so i hope all this information gets i my head before i start! im quite suprised about the choclate!
What did we learn?
You can dive in vodka with your fursuit but you can’t with chocolate
I have never heard somebody refer to a fursuit as a wearable carpet
I love it
Thanks for doing this science experiment Pocari! Definitely learned some interesting things!also I can confirm mustard is terrifying I've absolutely ruined regular clothes with it.. couldn't imagine a fursuit. (Good thing my main suit is yellow aha)
I love you Pocari Roo!! Cause you inspired me to make my own fursona and I gust love you so much thank you
I’m here for the cleaning product tests. And the grass stains, as a comically clumsy and short-sighted suiter (I haven’t worn my first head in ages because I can’t breathe properly in it) living in England, I have a horrible feeling my handpaws are going to have a green tint (at least they’re grey).
I learned that some stains look kinda neat, like wine and coffee!
I kinda wanna make a suit that has coffee or wine stains for particular colors of the fur. I think that could look really cool.
This video was very interesting.
I actually got ketchup on my fursuit's ear once at a con, thankfully it wasn't much. I just wiped it off with a wet paper towel before it dried and that did the trick! I can't imagine how awful it'd be dried on tho
Oh my gosh that would've sucked I'm glad you could get it off
All of a fursuiters nightmares with their fur in one video
vary useful!! I have been planning a fur meet at a place called Hi scores witch is a bar and grill and you can play all the games free if you buy a drink or food and now i know that the ketchup there will mess up fur! (Don't worry you didin't mess up my plans actually you helped it because you thought me that we don't need fursuits for a fur meet!)
chemical plant music was a great touch
Acetone melts plastics so wasnt suprised. Also for the essential oils dawn dish soap is best to use as a first cleaner then spot clean, also most sodas are used for getting out tough stains specially club soda.
"Mustard is magic and ketchup is the devil" lolol
Just *LICK* the ketchup off
-jk don’t do that-
-unless you have Fries with you-
You would literally cut up your tongue 😱 that ketchup was s o l i d
Rock solid ketchup, anyone? Care to break your teeth?
@@glutenfreedead c r u m c h
@@PocariRoo silly roo, you don't let it set for two weeks and dry out first. :P
Fascinating and horrifying! 10/10 would cringe over the fate of that poor fur again.
WOAH! The way you say “vinegar” is like actually really cool omg
Acetone is used in acetone vapour baths to blend the "layers" on 3d prints, it melts the plastic.
So it's safe to assume Acetone will melt the fibres of your furrsuit.
Isopropyl Alcohol is what I use to make fursuit spray. It works awesomely!
I love your fursuit in a scientist outfit, so cool.
The vodka didn't surprise me at all; there's tons of articles out there about using it as a cleaner and deodorizer. Just stay away from flavored vodkas; those contain sugars that will result in residue like the sauces.
When you wasted all of that ketchup, sans was CRYING
Hey Pocari! A great topic I think you could talk about would be fursuits made from dino masks. They've been popping up everywhere and there are many mixed feelings about it throughout our community.
If you ever try this again, try using this shampoo called "Tea Tree" (The minty one)
I use it for my hair (obviously), along with some various cloth and even foams:
I used it on my Oculus Quest 2 facial interface when the foam really needed to be cleaned, and it worked perfectly and smelled freshly minty afterwards!
I also used it with some towels, clothes, and a fur-like robe when I had stained them with various foods/drinks. (on accident-)
If you do attempt this, I wonder what the results will be for stains such as the sauces, chemicals, wine/vodka, and others!
"the best instrument mayonnaise" - Pocari Roo,2019
Your fursuit looks a little reddish what happened?
"I sPiLlEd BeEtS oN mAh SoOt"
Very interesting to know! I once played with some ketchup bottles in suit and now I've seen this, I'm very glad I didn't accidentally open it over myself or other suiters near me.
I'm pretty sure I have that same blue lipstick, and I think it's Maybelline!
This is a lot of good info to keep in mind for knowing how easy it can be to get certain things out of fur, and how difficult other things can be. Regardless, whenever I save up and get a fursuit, I'm probably just gonna keep it away from, like, everything 😂
Me: oh another Pocari video! But I need to sleep....
Portuguese clock: 03:00 AM
Vídeo thumb: VODKA
me: OMG OWO
That Chemical Plant remix was awesome
I noticed you put the fur outside for the weathering test on my birthday. Interesting
Acetone is literally used for melting plastic. Since the fur is acrylic, it also melts.
Why did Acetone get 5 stars in texture?
I guess an oversight, could mention it in the video description.
@4:49 exactly the moment when I thought "Wait...if ethanol is on the table, how is rubbing alcohol not?" And +immediately+ isopropyl comes up!
I use vinegar to clean everything! It’s a great natural cleaner. Though I don’t have a suit
I put febreeze fabric on my suit all the time i think it depends on what sent its is becaus eif you have a sweet scent it might leave it sticky
this was two years ago but it'll still help for when I get my suit, mine is fully light pink, darker pink, and white :')
Whoa. Alright wow. Now I know what to avoid like the plague! Thanks Pocari!
15:44 probably cause Mayo is mainly made out of egg (The whites, if I recall correctly.) and vinegar.
You could’ve used seltzer water it’s good for cleaning stains on the suit or carpets
Or baking soda
Acetone melts Lego plastic, so I wasn't really looking forward to that xD.
Hey I'm so excited to see niho can you make a video of all your fursuits part 2
At least we know how to look AND smell like a dog.
i have a all white fursona, I prey for that suit when hes made.
2:55 today I bought EXACTLY that cat food fur (hehe) my cat 😂
That cat food fur made me gag 😂😂😂
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
It took me 22 minutes to realize Chemical Plant was playing because you were doing things with chemicals.
so what you're saying is, if you're making like a doctor or a nurse fursuit, just spray a little bit of hospital cleaner on them to get that hospital smell?
2:08 ..... thats a big thing of bbq sawse
yes i meant sawse
Thanks for the video! 💙💜
Cool, this is like Myth busters the show.
*Nilered sees video*
Nilered has uploaded a new video: So i turned furries into vodka...
Mustard is magic and ketchup is the devil; best line to live by
HOLD THE MAYOE
Not sure if you’ll see this but I’m curious if you could see what happens with White and Brite. It’s an equine shampoo used to clean white horses. I’m curious if it would stain the white fur or not?
ive used lysol mainly inside and lightly over my fursuit and it hasnt done anything to the fur
Hey pocari we have the same fence we live in the same country, state and city and now I think u live on my street!
hello i'm a new subscriber (sorry this isn't anything to do with the video) and i just wanted to say your videos are awesome!
I love pickled beetroot its really good, Im suprised I dont live in Australia.
crazy how im watching this after her 100th bottle episode
Science is cool.
ah yes i now know what to do if my suit gets caught up in a food fight XD
Another on u could do is maple syrup
now ik wat to stay away from! 😂👍
Dang it, I thought maple syrup or molasses would make it. (I eat pancakes with extra maple sit-up all the time)
Toothpaste as tiny tiny firbres of plastic in them so I was concerned to see you put the toothpaste on
Top materials to wash off:
Vodka
Vinegar
Isopropyl alcohol
Lemongrass essential oils
Use that grey fur if you are planning on getting mustard on it
Pocari I made you some fanart fellow Aussie!
this video is kinda fun but it also hurts me
Thanks for doing this for the fandom and new fursuiters because now I know what not to do when I get my fursuit!!!!!!!! And what I will have to avoid when I wear it as well as when I go to clean it!!!!!!!😃😁😎😯😖😬🤯😰😱🥵
I am now craving sliced pickled beets.
