    Who was the instructor? He sounds good letting you get at it. 👍

      I don't remember the instructor's name in that car, but he was really cool. All the instructors are very nice. I think once they figure out you can handle the car they kind of let you loose. To be honest though, some of them give so many instruction so quickly that it is confusing and makes it hard to drive if you try to do everything they tell you. I would prefer they just be quite and let you drive the car. One of the best instructors was in day 1 in the GT3RS. He was one of the senior instructors, been there over 20 years and did not give much instruction, which made it nice. The only bad thing is he kept telling me not to shift into1st at the hairpin turn before the long straight. The problem was I could not hear him telling me not to shift into 1st, which I did not realize I was doing until after a few laps of doing it. LOL.

      @@markturrentine5973 I just got back from a trip to Vegas and took my son there-first time. I did a 1:03 lap in a 911 GT3. Definitely want to go back to improve on that speed. Probably not too bad considering it was my 1st time at the track. Fun as hell but went by too fast as I only did 6 laps.

      @@rik112 LOL, that's awesome. I took my son too. That's pretty good for your first time on track. I have a GT3 so I am partial to the Porsche's. My fastest lap was a 54.? in the GT3RS, which was my favorite car. Did a 56.9 in the GT3. All my runs are on my youtube channel. You definitely need more laps than you did to get a feel for the track. Use your least expensive, slower car for your first run of at least 10 laps. Then use the more expensive faster cars later once you have learned the track. The minimum laps is never enough, LOL, and it goes by so quickly. To me, some of the instructors talk to much and create some confusion. Some will actually slow you down if they don't realize you can drive. Also, if you have too few laps, you may not get a good clean run if there are slower drivers you are having to work around. so try to do 7 or 10 laps minimum. I believe my time in the GT3 there was a lot of traffic that limited my clean runs. Good luck if you get to go back and do it again.

      @@markturrentine5973 Good idea re. taking more runs on the least expensive car to get to know the track! I saw your videos at the NOLA track in your GT3. Wow, that's some crazy speed you achieved on the straights!

      @@markturrentine5973 Good advice - I just got back from my first time on a track .. drove the GT3 RS 7 laps, and I definitely needed more laps to get the nerves out and to not let my instincts get the better of me. If only I had won a few more rounds of craps or maybe a slot jackpot, I would definitely have added more laps ;-) Next time I'm in Vegas though... 100% doing it again!

    Throttling's probably pretty tricky. I'm sure it's tough getting it just right and not spinning your wheels as you're coming out of those turns.

    Would you recommend this in the STO for 7 laps over the Porsche Driving Experience in LA for a similar price?

    • @markturrentine5973
      @markturrentine5973  2 роки тому +1

      No I would not. I have never done the porsche driving experience, but have done the porsche sport driving school at Barber MSP. That was a two day school for about $3500 back in 2018. But 7 laps is gone in less than 10 minutes. For what i spent for my son and i in vegas, we both could have attended the driving school. Hurts to think about that now. With that said, I still think speed vegas is the most fun thing to do in vegas.

      Haha. I am a terrible student. That car was amazing. Super quick steering and the power comes on so quick. Sounds fantastic too.
