Your tutorials are so easy to follow and understand! A couple months ago I ended up finding 2 psp's at Goodwill (a 1001 model and a go) and ended up modding both for my fiancé using your tutorials! Keep on keepin' on, Dude!
Thanks for the tutorial! I'd recommend PSP Filer over the PC method due to Filer allowing you to rip games without the need of a computer. Plus I had some issues when using the PC method. Filer is just simpler and more straightforward.
watching this again i should point out for anyone who is interested in dumping umd movies you will need to use either the usb method or "UMD Dump PRX v1.00 " as psp filer won't dump umd movies.
@@MrMario2011 I actually got a problem, when i opened the files of my psp instead of showing me the normal files,i actually got new different files and they re all protected,i m using ME btw

Now my games do not freeze when playing them, games such as the sims 2 pets was prone to freezing up as data had to constantly load.

Great video MrMario. You've got me getting my psp out of the closest and back using it. It's such a great hand held. I really want that gameboot you have as well. Where can I find that and what's the best way now to install those?
@@MrMario2011 Thanks for the reply. I thought that's what it was. I can't seem to find a good link for it anywhere. Could you by chance send me the link you found?
@@MrMario2011 That was actually confusing when you ripped the game that you had the gameboot for. Thanks for these tutorials though, I'm trying to send a PSP to a kid in the Philippines and weight/size/battery issues were a real headache. Mr Mario, great videos and very helpful. Do you know the limit of the number of games you can access on a memory stick? Not the physical capacity but how many games the system supports? I've loaded 50 games and or movies to a large capacity micro memory card, plenty of space to do so. However, not all the titles show up to the system. Seems a limit to number of items, and wondering if you were aware and know a work around please?

I'm trying too get homebrew apps to run, but they keep corrupting. Is there is a reason why that keeps happening? i'm using the stock 2GB memory stick and the programs are in PSP/Game
I just seen a video about using a cheap eBay battery that lasts much longer. But I have a feeling you won't be able to use the drive because the battery fits there. I suppose you could rip your games first and then do the battery mod. I'd probably keep any parts left over but I didn't finish the video so maybe that's not even required. Seeing the battery take the place of the drive made me not want to do that route.
As always it is a great video, but if you have the opportunity try to get a PS Vita that can be jailbroken. You can benefit form the whole PSV, PSP and PSX library.
@@MrMario2011 i see, thanks haha. I recently picked one off ebay, but when it arrived the quality was extremely bad. I don't think i can find one similar to yours anymore, they probably dont even sale them now.

I tried this with system software 6.39 ME-5, VSH 6.39. I can rip with PSP filer, and I can copy the umd directly to my PC. The game I backed up (megaman maverick hunter x) will not go passed the psp splash screen. I get error (80010087) Looks like that error appears when the game is not instered in the psp or the firmware needs to be updated. I'll try to get my psp to the most updated cfw later and see what happens. I modded this thing like 10 years ago, and your on 6.61, so I'll work on it and see what happens. Thank you for the video.
Some of my UMDs won't back up, it keeps "splitting" them. Says UMD [1] and then [2] and the system won't display them. Any ideas or should I copy them to the PC and then back down to the PSP?
Sorry, I've never ever run into that. They're well under the 4 GB limit that FAT32 holds. Try backing them up to your PC directly using the USB method.
