- With The Amazing Spider-Man 2 releasing worldwide, we thought it was time to finally crack open the original Raimi Spider-Man trilogy and look for sins. Because the sin-counter is a great power, we did our best to execute great responsibility. We probably failed.

I made this joke, because at the time, properly wearing your mask was a big deal and people were refusing to do it. This was especially true in my personal life, but clearly it resonated with a lot of people, seeing all the likes it accumulated since i last looked at it.
Your lack of understanding of the joke is understandable, considering this joke is no longer contemporary and was never meant to "age well".

As much as dislike cinemasins sometimes, he's still right cuz during the stunt they made the tray stick to the items, so it doesn't obey normal physics like he says, cuz really they should bounce off and not stick cuz of how he catches is

JJJ wasn't trying to save peter's life. He knew that nobody was better than peter to capture spiderman's photos and if he tells green goblin about Peter then he won't get any photos and his business would be ruined. He must have assumed that if he tells green goblin that he doesn't know about the source of the photos, goblin would leave him and spidey will show up to save him.

@@sunandanair5658 it's been long established even in the comic that JJJ is actually a good journalist with principles among them being "never reveal your sources" in fact in most versions of the comics the reason JJJ hires peter as a photographer was because he felt sympathy for him when he realised peter lost his uncle and even has gone as far as to say he sees peter as a son, the reason he goes for spider-man so badly was because he mistrusts the concept of "heroes" in general due to his traumatic past, as his father was considered a war hero but he would get drunk constantly and beat him up.

The sin about the food tray catch was unjustified- there were no special effects in that scene, they made Maguire actually catch the stuff.

Actually, no special effects were used to make that scene where Mary Jane slips and Peter catches everything. That was all Tobey. The only thing that was used was a little bit of glue on Tobey's hand to stick the tray on.

I must say though that Williem Dafoe played his part SO well in this movie I just loved watching him. His villainous laugh, his two-facedness and even his insane monologue scenes were so entertaining. Not as good as Heath Ledger's performance but definitely somewhere up there - far better than any other Spiderman villain i've seen.

I really don't think her focus would be on trying to figure out who spider-man is based off of one line Goblin says. Rather her focus is on staying alive. In the comics at least, Norman always recognizes Harry while Goblin'd out. But they don't have the most loving relationship anyway so he's completely okay with wounding his son to get at Spiderman in most situations, though he usually stops short of killing him. Usually.

I hope Tobey Maguire knows just how big of a role he played, not only in Spider-man but in the comic book community as a whole, it's him and Sam Raimi who are to thank for essentially the birth of the MCU and the inspiration to filmmakers everywhere who have made excellent comic book movies, an entire generation of fans, actors and filmmakers alike are standing on their shoulders and if I have an inspiration, it would have to be Sam Raimi for reinforcing the message that was in the comics from the beginning and exists with the character even today that anyone can be Spider-man and that it's about doing the right thing, that's why I consider the Raimi trilogy the best series of comic book movies of all time and Raimi himself as one of the best filmmakers of all time

Yeah, in the new ones they made Peter Parker a total douche. The original trilogy is way better. The third movie isn't very good though, especially when Spiderman becomes Venom and Peter turns all emo.
