A great game, one of my favourites. I wonder why it hasn’t been in print in an English edition for so long? It has such broad appeal, for and Klaus Teuber’s name on the box!
I sense your disappointment at not getting what you were after, presumably you’re trying to compete an Alea set? One the upside, this Avalon Hill game is a significant relic in its own right. It must be one of the very first republications of a German Game in the American market, with the mystifying decision to keep the original title and all!
The side-by-side is interesting. I have Hoity Toity, but if I was to see someone playing one of the original games I would probably think it was the same art with a different colour-balance or something- but no, it looks like they got someone to do their best at copying the original! Strange, I wonder if they couldn’t get the rights for the original art?
Sorry for the mistake in the purchase. But at least for my part thanks for the lemonade.
I was lucky enough to get a copy of Adel Verpflichtet, ALEA version printed in 2000. It was in excellent condition and the price was reasonably cheap.
I am still waiting for an opportunity to play it.
That’s the one I thought I was getting in trade. 😞 The trader’s description was misleading, supposedly accidentally but hard to see how… Traded a valuable item in a math trade to get it, too. Hope you enjoy it!
