An engine misfire is when a cylinder has an incomplete combustion ignition or the absence of combustion in a cylinder.
Each cylinder needs the correct air-fuel mixture and spark to complete combustion.
If the vehicle only has a P0301 Code, then the components on that cylinder should be tested.
A cylinder's individual components would be the coil, injector, spark plug, and spark plug wire.
If there are other engine codes, then there may be other issues.
For example, multiple misfire codes (P0300) can be caused by low fuel pressure, bad sensors, vacuum leak, and more.

Thank you HVAC Mechanic. On my older Toyota Camry 1995 4 Cylinder Engine, the professionals that I have gone to could were "UNABLE to remove Cylinder #1 Spark Plug" and the first old German guy replaced Spark Plugs #2, 3 & 4 approx 3 years ago. Now I'm spending too much money on 1) Diagnostic tests 2) and a new Fuel Filter and Injection clean-ups 3)and replacing 2 Front Axles for $842. I'm 77 years old and on fixed income and the car runs but I'm afraid to drive it. Please help me sir. Thanks in advance

What about the P0301 in conjunction with the P0201? ‘08 Impala

I would test the injector on cylinder #1 along with the injector wiring.

I have 2007 jeep compass limited cylinder 1 misfire dtc but also a cylinder 4 with no code wont go over 2500 rpms....im stuck please help

check the injector connections, and that they are seated properly, that is an injector problem

Could it be the o rings. ..because I checked the spray pattern

Wath abouth code P0101 and P0301.

I would clean the mass airflow sensor, clear the codes, and see if they come back. The P0301 is likely a separate issue on cylinder 1, but it's worth a shot.
