I thought he was great in Dazed And Confused and that movie where he played Samuel L Jacksons lawyer. I'm drawing a blank on the films name right now. I never cared for any of the other movies I've seen him in tho.
Agree. Many people seem to think that Leo only became a serious actor after Titanic, neglecting the awesome work he's done before being hyped as a "teen heartthrob". Personally, I liked Leo's acting style in his early movies (pre-Titanic) better. At some point he started using the same gestures and facial expressions with every character he played, so they all look the same to me. It got really bad after The Aviator, as if he somehow got stuck in the body language of that character.
Tom Cruise is the opposite for me.Years ago was making great movies, now just plays Ethan Hunt in everything, regardless of whether he's in a Mission Impossible film or not.
Similar for me, but I did like him in Talladega Nights Albeit largely because I'm a New Englander living in the South and I hate NASCAR, so it was pleasant to see it mocked.
Sam Rockwell - Moon. I've never much liked him, but he's brilliant in that film. Mark Wahlberg - The Departed. Made me re-evaluate his performance in Boogie Nights. John Goodman - The Big Lebowski. I previously found Goodman annoying and not funny, especially in Raising Arizona, but I completely 180ed on him when Lebowski came out.
Gotta admit. I was kinda a fan of Mark Walburg way back in 91. Feel the Vibrations was kinda awesome. But acting wise, it took me until 98' when he was in The Big Hit. Mark Walhberg has been in some really great movies hasnt he?
DaSean Wayne that's the magic of Disney actors they are forced to be dummed down and downright impossible to like unless your a young girl, but when they start to try movies and TV shows out of Disney they tend to have better performances
I haven't ever watched a Zac Efron movie, but it honestly doesn't surprise me that he can legitimately act - a few of the actors on my high school speech team were supposed to compete against him at a massive Midwest tournament, but he missed that tournament to film his first movie.
Ted Schwartz he's actually pretty damned good he's great in Neighbors, Naughty Grampa, & Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, but the movie that forced me to not just see him as "that guy from High School Musical" was Charlie St. Cloud
ChannelyChannel the stipulation was that his name would be plumpy everywhere but because he lost @ Wrestlemania (which he was supposed to win) it became just on the wrestling channel.
+Hussein Alsalami Ummmm then how come he has been "Plumpy from Whatculture" in a bunch of videos NOT released on the wrestling channel since then. Face it, he is plumpy from WhatCulture, the audio for this was just recorded before wrestlemannia.
Samuel L Jackson: Unbreakable. Yeah, I know. Everyone thinks he is brilliant in everything he does, but for he always plays the person who enunciates every bit of dialog that comes out of his mouth from Pulp Fiction to Jackie Brown to Snakes on a Plane, and while don't think it has ruined every movie he has made, that one-note characterization has become annoying over time. So I was completely delighted with his quiet frustration as Elija Price in Unbreakable. And this is the scene that made me realize how great an actor he is: ua-cam.com/video/aEZsiXFc7AE/v-deo.html . It's all in his face and it is great.
Thank you for including In Bruges in your list. In Bruges is a little known and underappreciated film. Any film that can make me laugh out loud and tear up In a single scene is something special. The film is the result of an amazing script and brilliant direction. A tear jerker and a laugh Riot driven mostly by subtle glances between the main characters.
Zac Efron was hilarious in Neighbors another one of them pretty boys who did shit movies....even though he still plays the pretty boy in his last four or five movies he does it with great comedic timing and the fact that he is aware of it and gives a wink to the audience
Honestly, if they had kept him as Grindlewald I think it would have made the franchise so much better. No hate to Depp, but he just didn't pull off Grindlewald with any kind of impact or gravitas. He's an understated kind of actor great for certain roles and at times he can play villains well, but I never bought him as Grindlewald. So, I wish they had kept Colin Farrell in the part or went with Mads Mikkelsen from the start (because he always nails a good villain, let's be honest).
Actually DiCaprio blew my mind in Django Unchained. Before that he was mostly typecasted as "trobled good guy" basically reprising the same character over and over again. But then suddenly he turned into pure sadistic racist shithead who woke in me such hate that I literally clapped at his death. That was some top notch acting, if you ask me.
For me, Tom Cruise was redeemed by Edge of Tomorrow with Emily Blunt. I went in purely to watch his character die dozens of times, but then I really ended up enjoying the film, and a lot of that was due to his performance. Now I love the Mission Impossible movies! (except 2 & 3)
Jim Carrey - In Living Color Leo - Catch Me If You Can Channing Tatum - Haven't seen 21 Jump Street yet Colin Farrell - Minority Report Tom Cruise - Risky Business Ben Affleck - Dazed and Confused Anne Hathaway - Never watched her movies until The Dark Knight Rises JCVD - Bloodsport Adam Sandler - SNL Matthew McConaughey - Dazed and Confused
Sarah Smith I don't hate everybody. I hate Jim Carrey and Tom Cruise - from what I understand, the planet is made up of quite a substantially larger number of people than two. At least I don't go around wagging my ignorance all around the internet. Maybe take up knitting or something, you might be better at that.
My mother viciously despises him. I was just indifferent. Then he made I Love You, Phillip Morris. He can ride the goodwill from that one for a long time, as far as I'm concerned.
21 Jump Street was where I found the most respect for Channing, also, the movie with Ryan Phillepe and him where they come home from a tour in Iraq. Dude is great.
First and only thing I'd seen him in until Origins was Van Wilder, which was actually surprisingly good, so when I heard that he'd been cast as Deadpool in Origins I was pumped, though I had to do a lot of convincing of my more skeptical friends. Unfortunately the overall low quality of that movie didn't do him any favors with the public, though he did what he could with what he had. Somehow he survived Green Lantern and then gave us the cinematic Deadpool we all deserve.
Between Titanic and Inception, I had avoided DiCaprio's movies and after Inception, I regretted it because it won me over for Leo. I went back and watched The Departed and loved it.
Every male actor C list and up has been in a Superman suit at some point. There's even video of Nic Cage wearing one with a stupid looking mullet thing.
Oh my god, and I thought I was the only one in the wolrd who watched and loved JCVD. The ten-or-so minute scene where he talks to the camera is phenomenal.
I think a good addition would be Ryan Gosling, at first at least to me he was just another heart throb that would play in movies like the notebook forever but he definitely changed my mind with "Drive" and "The Nice Guys"
OK seriously. That "Now imagine she's white" scene in A Time to Kill was heart-rending and Matthew McConaughey was terrific. That was very early in his career.
For me, it was Mark Hamill as The Joker in the Batman Animated Series. At the time, it was so shocking that there was a rumour it must be some other Mark Hamill since no one whose acting was as bad as Mark Hamill could possibly be the amazing voice of The Joker.
Interstellar made me change my mind about Matthew McConaughey. Guardians of the Galaxy made me change my mind about Chris Pratt. 10/10 movies. 10/10 acting
xXcorpitoXx have you recently watched some of his original stand up in Toronto? Highly recommend it, even if it's a rewatch. Should be on UA-cam. He's in an extremely colourful shirt :)
Strange, hat you missed out the one real good moie of Adam Sandler, the Reign over me. Since that, I hate him even more, as he has shown, that he could be a damn good actor, not a piece of crap, like in most of his movies
mojoking7702 Adam Sandler is the Michael Bay version who is acting. He can do better, but he choses not to,because he knows he still gets a lot of money.
Reign Over Me was arguably his best performance. He did a couple of watchable (not to be confused with "good") films after that, but then he completely stopped giving a shit.
There is usually one I completely disagree with or one that is glaringly missing from the list but this one is pretty bang on! Catch me if you can brought me around on Leo as an actor and then blood diamond. But I didn't see Aviator until much later. I remember seeing Lincoln Lawyer and being very surprised and then blown away by Mud.
+Daniel Mashanic but before the Dark knight was released & it was only announced Heath Ledger was going to play him, a lot of people went furious thinking he was unfit. Many stating their opinions like why he can't be joker e.g. Brokeback mountain. & just like Ben affleck nobody said a bad thing about his Joker. Ben Affleck better than Christian Bale as Batman for the record ;)
because nobody ever hated Ledger. he shot to fame with great charisma in 10 things i hate about you and proved he was a serious actor in Brokeback mountain, it's just his career hit a bit of a speedbump with the massively hyped and promoted A knights tale that was supposed to be the hit of the year but under performed badly and didn't go down that well with critics
+morning morality 'nobody knew who he was yet'? what are you smoking??? he'd been HUGE for years!!! that's WHY his role as the joker was so anticipated!!
Sarah Smith Yes, Tom Cruise is a horrible actor. Julia Roberts owns an Oscar and SHE is a horrible actor (and robbed Ellen Burstyn of an Oscar). Please read LITERALLY ANY ARTICLE about the Oscars - they have nothing to do with talent and everything to do with money.
Sky Dome I've coached and judged competitive actors for over a decade, so yes, I would know. The "Oscar community," if we're speaking about people who would be voting for Tom Cruise, are other actors who AREN'T under obligation to watch the performances nominated. Do a little search on the Google machine and you can find plenty of results about how ridiculous the Oscars are... which kind of annoys me because I thought everyone knew that, but.. SURPRISE!
Smiled and nodded for Cruise in Magnolia and Sandler in Punch Drunk Love. P. T. Anderson is just that good. Let's not forget the performance he got out of Marky Mark in Boogie Nights.
Tom Cruise might be nuts but he does seem like a nice person none the less and when he's being interviewed on Graham Norton, he always seems interested in his fellow guests and is nice to everyone
David Core Hey, DiCaprio was able to play alongside Kirk Cameron for extended periods of time and not deliver every line with his middle fingers extended, which probably deserved an Oscar right there.
his latest film he directed is shit. hardly a believable scene in it. he's best when playing normal characters like in Good Will Hunting etc, he was great in that. i really liked Town as well. but i was totally unconvinced by his turn as batman, it's not enough to just deepen your voice and look grumpy ben..... try harder
Matthew McConaugheys performance in True Detective is what fully turned me into loving him. I can't think of anyone else in Hollywood who I couldn't have given a shit about during the majority of their careers and then 1 day, everything changed. Now when I see his name on a poster, I'm instantly interested.
Chris Evans in Captain America. I hated him in Fantastic 4, but absolutely love him as Captain America. So much so, that I didn't even realize they were the same person until someone told me.
The best part about casting Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love is he plays the same character he always played: the sweet man-child utterly simmering with anger and violence. PT Anderson loved Sandler's movies and wanted to do his own take on one. What's funny about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is Kate Winslet essentially plays the Jim Carrey role--manic, quirky, over-the-top. Jim Carrey's a little like Robin Williams or Eddie Murphy. When a director has them rein it in a little, they hit the sweet spot.
I would have put Collateral for Tom Cruz. It's the only performance for him I've seen where, yes, he's playing his action star badass, but he's nuanced and actually interesting to watch. It's a performance that actually sticks with you after you've seen the movie.
Tropic Thunder is, by far, Tom Cruise's best performance. The character of Les Grosman was completely opposite of any role he'd done before and he freakin' nailed it. I didn't care for him much early on with his "arrogant, pretty boy" roles and the over-the-top antics of the first few Mission: Impossible flicks. He was also great in American Made, Oblivion, and Edge of Tomorrow.
1. People knew that Leo was talented since he held his own with De Niro in This Boy’s Life in 1992. 2. I would say the perception of Channing Tatum changed with his performance in Foxcatcher. 3. The perception of Tom Cruise as an actor changed with Born on the Fourth of July in 1989.
Poor Leo!!! Why does nobody seem to remember his epic early roles that made him famous? He may have gone through a pretty boy rut but What's eating Gilbert Grape and the Basketball diaries were awesome movies and he was amazing in them. In fact he was so good in Gilbert Grape many people were shocked to find out that he didn't have a developmental disability. He was also nominated for his first academy award!!
I would have put Will Ferrell on this list. Most of his roles are just him over-the-top screaming for 2 hours, but then you see Stranger Than Fiction, where he plays a much more subtle role. It's the only role of his that I like because it's actually charming, witty and makes you think that he's not just a 1 trick pony.
Kirsten Wiig is exceptionally talented as a comedy actress. But her serious role in The Martian was amazing. Also it was Les Mis that sold me on Hathaway.
Never watched Magnolia! What actually turned me over for good (besides all his Mission Impossible movies) was his performance in the very underrated action comedy "Knight And Day"! And of course Tropic Thunder, but that´s Robert Downey Jr.´s movie!!
I know this list is about movies,
But I think Matthew's role in True Detective deserves a mention.
Holy shit what a performance.
I like him more in True Detective than in Dallas Buyer Club.
he shouldn't even be in this list, he's always been well thought of as an actor. and did you see him in Killer Joe ? holy fuck what a film
I thought he was great in Dazed And Confused and that movie where he played Samuel L Jacksons lawyer. I'm drawing a blank on the films name right now. I never cared for any of the other movies I've seen him in tho.
How do you feel about Interstellar?
Taker 469 A Time to kill....
Leo was best in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?"
wwaxwork I wouldn't necessarily call that a good movie, but I dont think you can question his acting after that. He was really incredible.
'I almost drownded Gilbert'
Great film, great book, RIP his momma
wwaxwork , I was most impressed with Leo's performance as Benjamin Button.
Tom Cruise is the opposite for me.Years ago was making great movies, now just plays Ethan Hunt in everything, regardless of whether he's in a Mission Impossible film or not.
britbloc123 edge of tomorrow
+YoDa BaKi
Yeah, what about it? It's a sci fi movie featuring Ethan Hunt.
britbloc123 recent example the mummy (tbf I didn't hate it)
"Like Dwyane the Rock Johnson 's level of cool" Yeah okay, I get it,but let's not get over our heads here.
I'd personally say he's that same type of cool, but no where near on The Rock's level.
The Rock's name is bigger than his acting ability. He's the modern day Arnold.
Wurmo
I choose to believe that you are referencing the protagonist of the Nickelodeon cartoon, "Hey Arnold!"
Since He doesnt have a football head. Your belief is far out there.
Zarathos His WWF days made him well practiced in tucking in bulges.
Tropic Thunder is DEFINITELY the movie that changed my opinion of Tom Cruise.
Will Ferrell, couldn't stand him until i saw Everything must go and Stranger Than Fiction.
Similar for me, but I did like him in Talladega Nights Albeit largely because I'm a New Englander living in the South and I hate NASCAR, so it was pleasant to see it mocked.
Stranger than fiction is incredible.. and severly underrated
I dont really like in either. But Night at the Roxbary probably going to be the best film he'll ever do, for my tastes.
DevilMann I started liking him as soon as I saw Elf!
Tom Cruise more ruined his public perception through awkward interviews as opposed to his movies.
He just needs the right role. He works best as a dumb/innocent guy (Boogie Nights, Ted, Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees) or Boston Guy (The Departed).
Totally agree.
Erik Dresner "We have a deadly petroleum crisis!"
By grabthar's hammer.....what a savings. XD
And we got get out of before they kill Guy.
I woulda put Zac Efron on here..I used to hate him in high school musical put then neighbors came out and he became cool..kinda like Channing Tatum
Ted Schwartz he's actually pretty damned good he's great in Neighbors, Naughty Grampa, & Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, but the movie that forced me to not just see him
as "that guy from High School Musical" was Charlie St. Cloud
DaSean Wayne neighbours was awful
Dirty Grandpa. He was a scream in that.
Your Plumpy from whatculture. Not Adam.
ChannelyChannel the stipulation was that his name would be plumpy everywhere but because he lost @ Wrestlemania (which he was supposed to win) it became just on the wrestling channel.
you're
Hussein Alsalami Didn't he call himself Plumpy in a recent WhatCulture news video?
+Hussein Alsalami Ummmm then how come he has been "Plumpy from Whatculture" in a bunch of videos NOT released on the wrestling channel since then. Face it, he is plumpy from WhatCulture, the audio for this was just recorded before wrestlemannia.
lol kayfabe broken
Who tf hates jim carrey
Erik Quinde I can see why some people would hate him, but he is too likable.
Me
Erik Quinde I like Jim Carrey except for 23
I don't hate Carrey as a person but I *do* hate his exaggerated form of acting; he's ruined every movie he's ever been in.
i enjoyed 23 a lot
Tom Cruise looks _PHENOMENAL_ in Magnolia
Matthew McConaughey was AMAZING in True Detective Season 1. That show really got me.
It's all in his face and it is great.
I think that Mr. McConaughey was underappreciated because he was so pretty.
He was always a great actor, and proved it, at least since the mid 90's.
Loved him in Reign of Fire! lol
I'm suprised to hear that people didn't like him at some point
Agreed. If you liked him in Lincoln lawyer, I think he’s even better in A time to kill
Perfect use of the word himbo!! POINTS!!!
Great video guys. Thank you.
Colin Farrell was an amazing antagonist in Fantastic Beasts, please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks so.
I used to be a hero like you.
Then a blue guy killed me...
or did he ;)
Oh yeah. Hes done.
I've been binging WhatCulture videos, specifically Adam's videos, thank you i love you
5 not as good as 10! 10! 10! 10! 10! 10! 10! 10! 10! 10! 10! Why aren't you called Plumpy
*im Plumpy from Whatculture.com and here are 10 movies that changed your mind about actors you hated
Nicolas cage performance in Kickass got me to respect his acting chops, he blew me away in that movie
Did anybody else catch that at 1:31 it says 21 JUMP STRET instead of STREET?
Zoe Tyler omg who. the hell. cares!
Bruce Willis changed my entire idea of him in Die Hard. Then he changed it again in Pulp Fiction.
I've always liked him, way back to Moonlighting and the movie Blind Date.
Tom Cruise: For me it was "Collateral". Bonus, also Jamie Foxx in the same movie.
I've loved Leo since Gilbert Grape.
Never watched any of these 3 Scorsese films! I fell in love with Leo after "Catch Me If You Can"!
Jim Carrey deserves more roles like Eternal Sunshine...
To me the Adam Sandler one should be Reign Over Me, because it's one that actually makes you cry with his performance.
Nobody hated nic cage because of ghost rider, come on now, he did a good job and made my childhood entertaining.
Jim Carrey - In Living Color
Leo - Catch Me If You Can
Channing Tatum - Haven't seen 21 Jump Street yet
Colin Farrell - Minority Report
Tom Cruise - Risky Business
Ben Affleck - Dazed and Confused
Anne Hathaway - Never watched her movies until The Dark Knight Rises
JCVD - Bloodsport
Adam Sandler - SNL
Matthew McConaughey - Dazed and Confused
I have never met a single person who hates JIM CARREY
Well hello, it's nice to meet you. And yes, I HATED him before Eternal Sunshine.
Ted Schwartz
Oh look it's you again, the guy who hates everybody.
Sarah Smith Just kiss already!
RYAN REYNOLDS-DEADPOOL for me
Bray Wyatt YES
Yeah I loved him in x-men origins
First and only thing I'd seen him in until Origins was Van Wilder, which was actually surprisingly good, so when I heard that he'd been cast as Deadpool in Origins I was pumped, though I had to do a lot of convincing of my more skeptical friends. Unfortunately the overall low quality of that movie didn't do him any favors with the public, though he did what he could with what he had. Somehow he survived Green Lantern and then gave us the cinematic Deadpool we all deserve.
Buried or whatever that movie was what did him for me
Safe House was better!
Between Titanic and Inception, I had avoided DiCaprio's movies and after Inception, I regretted it because it won me over for Leo. I went back and watched The Departed and loved it.
Wait a minute, Ben Affleck has played Batman and Superman?
Every male actor C list and up has been in a Superman suit at some point. There's even video of Nic Cage wearing one with a stupid looking mullet thing.
Oh my god, and I thought I was the only one in the wolrd who watched and loved JCVD. The ten-or-so minute scene where he talks to the camera is phenomenal.
Nicolas Cage in Adaptation anyone?
You forgot True Detective while mentioning Mcconaughey, its definitely one of his best works, anyway just a side note, great video keep it up guys!
S1 of "True Detective" was brilliant, but the title of this video says "movies", not shows.
hated anne hathaway as catwoman......... ruined it
Someone missed "Cable Guy" I'm digging your videos though. Thanks for all your work!
Zac Efron in Neighbors is a nice honorable mention, I thought he was irredeemable after High School Musical but he's actually hilarious
George Clooney in O Brother Where Art Thou. I despised him before that movie, but his performance in that film completely changed my opinion of him.
Come on... "This Boy's Life" and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" clearly showed from very early on that Leo was more than a talentless pretty boy..
Agreed. You may not like him but his performance in Gilbert Grape was outstanding.
The Basketball Diaries. He was amazing.
I don't care for Tom Cruise but I really loved his performances in "Interview with the Vampire" and "The last Samurai".
Ryan Reynolds - deadpool?
Van Wilder
I think a good addition would be Ryan Gosling, at first at least to me he was just another heart throb that would play in movies like the notebook forever but he definitely changed my mind with "Drive" and "The Nice Guys"
Well, now with BvS, my respect for Ben Affleck has been destroyed again.
man, Leo been good since the 90s
Interstellar.
pianapple riche that's the film that changed my mind on Matthew..God, I used to hate him before that lol
OK seriously. That "Now imagine she's white" scene in A Time to Kill was heart-rending and Matthew McConaughey was terrific. That was very early in his career.

Yeah, but he wasn't really hated, and he had some successful voice work before Joker. No one knew he was THAT good though.
Interstellar made me change my mind about Matthew McConaughey. Guardians of the Galaxy made me change my mind about Chris Pratt. 10/10 movies. 10/10 acting
Anyone who hates Jim Carrey is a person whose opinion should never matter
xXcorpitoXx have you recently watched some of his original stand up in Toronto? Highly recommend it, even if it's a rewatch. Should be on UA-cam. He's in an extremely colourful shirt :)
xXcorpitoXx I don't hate him,he has just made a lot of dumb movies!
Ever since i saw "Two for the money" ive been telling people Matthew Mcconaughey was a good actor. No one belived me until he won that oscar.
Why do WhatCulture use the girl @ 0:19 in all their videos.
They're getting the most out of their purchase of some stock photos, I suppose.
I wonder who she is
Hussein Alsalami do a google reverse search. Probably find the original stock photo
The performance that changed my mind about Channing Tatum was the one he made in The hateful eight. Just briliant!
Strange, hat you missed out the one real good moie of Adam Sandler, the Reign over me.
Since that, I hate him even more, as he has shown, that he could be a damn good actor, not a piece of crap, like in most of his movies
I was gonna say the same thing. I frickin' love that movie and he is brilliant in it. I think he needs to give up comedy at this point.
mojoking7702 Adam Sandler is the Michael Bay version who is acting. He can do better, but he choses not to,because he knows he still gets a lot of money.
Reign Over Me was arguably his best performance. He did a couple of watchable (not to be confused with "good") films after that, but then he completely stopped giving a shit.
Spanglish was good.
I think his last decent movie was zohan
There is usually one I completely disagree with or one that is glaringly missing from the list but this one is pretty bang on!
Catch me if you can brought me around on Leo as an actor and then blood diamond. But I didn't see Aviator until much later. I remember seeing Lincoln Lawyer and being very surprised and then blown away by Mud.
Why don't people like Anne Hathaways Catwoman? I thought Anne made a great performance as Catwoman. 🐱
John Cena And puss in boots is a man... cat..... durp.
But rly.
John Cena Natasha Richardson R.I.P*, you mean...pay some respect.
YES. Finally someone reveals the brilliance of 'JCVD'.
Why is heath ledger not on this list? Him as the Joker was amazing
onceagian Yeah, but people enjoyed his work before it. He just wasn't too well known before it.
+Daniel Mashanic but before the Dark knight was released & it was only announced Heath Ledger was going to play him, a lot of people went furious thinking he was unfit. Many stating their opinions like why he can't be joker e.g. Brokeback mountain. & just like Ben affleck nobody said a bad thing about his Joker. because nobody ever hated Ledger. he shot to fame with great charisma in 10 things i hate about you and proved he was a serious actor in Brokeback mountain, it's just his career hit a bit of a speedbump with the massively hyped and promoted A knights tale that was supposed to be the hit of the year but under performed badly and didn't go down that well with critics
I enjoy A Knight's Tale. I own it on VHS, DVD, and now Blu Ray. One of the few movies I have bought each time a new media format comes out.
+morning morality 'nobody knew who he was yet'? what are you smoking??? he'd been HUGE for years!!! that's WHY his role as the joker was so anticipated!!
Colin Farrell also did really well in Saving Mr. Banks in my opinion. (Which is also a very good movie if you like Mary Poppins)
So TOM CRUISE who is the biggest movie star since the early 80s, NO ONE LIKE HIM ?!
well i guess his movies are being watched by themselves.

TOM CRUISE movies will always be watched because people LIKE Tom Cruise, Not HATE him.
Just because people like him doesn't mean he's a good actor. To that end, I'm not positive that he's human based on his interviews.
Ted Schwartz
A 3 time Academy award nominee is not a bad actor.
SURPRISE!
The scene in Magnolia where Tom Cruise breaks down crying gave me a newfound respect for Tom Cruse
"Les Miserables," Adam, is pronounced "Lay Miz-ah-Arr-Bleh." 😏
TrenchcoatWallflower NEEEEERD
Freedfg 😌
TrenchcoatWallflower les mis in France
TrenchcoatWallflower pretty sure he butchered the pronunciation on purpose just to get this reaction 😜
he 100% knows and was intentionally butchering it that much to get people like you riled up lol
Smiled and nodded for Cruise in Magnolia and Sandler in Punch Drunk Love. P. T. Anderson is just that good. Let's not forget the performance he got out of Marky Mark in Boogie Nights.
WE WANT PLUMPY *CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP*
Tom Cruise might be nuts but he does seem like a nice person none the less and when he's being interviewed on Graham Norton, he always seems interested in his fellow guests and is nice to everyone
Can't say I agree. I liked Tom Cruise before Magnolia (and still do he is awesome) and I still don't like DiCaprio or Carrey.
Susilordi I get Carrey, but why not Leo?
I honestly think Cruise and Carry are both better actors than Leo.
David Core
Hey, DiCaprio was able to play alongside Kirk Cameron for extended periods of time and not deliver every line with his middle fingers extended, which probably deserved an Oscar right there.
I really think Mathew McConaughey's performance in the first season of True Detective deserved a shoutout as well.
Ben Affleck is still bad
i'm just bored Ben Affleck is the batdamn Batman.
he's a quitter...lol
I agree i still think he is not a good actor just OK at best.
He's brilliant given the right roles but he's a goddamn fantastic director and writer.
his latest film he directed is shit. hardly a believable scene in it. he's best when playing normal characters like in Good Will Hunting etc, he was great in that. i really liked Town as well. but i was totally unconvinced by his turn as batman, it's not enough to just deepen your voice and look grumpy ben..... try harder
Thank god you said tropic thunder I was about to go on a rant
Matthew McConaugheys performance in True Detective is what fully turned me into loving him.
I can't think of anyone else in Hollywood who I couldn't have given a shit about during the majority of their careers and then 1 day, everything changed. Now when I see his name on a poster, I'm instantly interested.
Chris Evans in Captain America. I hated him in Fantastic 4, but absolutely love him as Captain America. So much so, that I didn't even realize they were the same person until someone told me.
The performance that changed my mind about Channing Tatum was the one he made in The hateful eight. It was just briliant.
Yooooo! That JCVD movie is massively underrated. I freakin love that movie!
I love Punch Drunk Love. Just double dipped and picked up the Criterion blu ray. Excellent film with excellent performances.
3. The perception of Tom Cruise as an actor changed with Born on the Fourth of July in 1989.
just saw JCVD because of this list ... a surprisingly good movie with a powerful scene where he breaks the fourth wall, well worth watching
Everybody has to admit though that Adam Sandler's movie click was a great movie and a tearjerker
Ben Afleck in The Town was amazing and my favourite film with him in. Everything about that film was perfect to me.
Notice how PT Anderson is in there twice? That dude makes some insanely great movies.
I literally laughed out loud when you showed Adam Sandler pooping movies.
I think hotel transylvania is some of Sandler's best work.
Grindelwald Colin Farrell > Grindelwald Depp
Let it be known.
You missed my favorite. Will Ferrell on "Stranger than Fiction"
Bum!
Knew Leo could act from the days of "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" He was brilliant in it.
Colin Farrell as impostor Percival Graves was freaking amazing.
Hi Adam long time no see. Tom Cruz was great in Oblivion he actually did the impossible and made his character Jack likable.
