didn't Doublelift recommend Weldon to TSM in 2016 after they had a lot of internal problems during spring split. I remember that being a fact back then.
@@Ice_IcembEven if as a sports psychologist, if what DL saying is true about piping in on game discussion and champ pick, Weldon sounds like someone who lacks understanding around professional boundaries... Why would you want someone like that?...
@@minwookim3316 he may have been thinking about pick from a psych POV... what if that champ changed the confidence and decision making of player/players etc. I dont think its out of bounds to veto certain champs from a role like that.
@minwookim3316 I've met the guy personally at an MN COLLEGE around the same year the TSM super team was popping off. He is a nice guy, and I trust in his work for psychology, but there was something off and arrogant about him. I think he definitely sold himself as the ALL around greatest coach. I always found it strange how a guy like him got into the top coaching position so quickly when he had very limited knowledge of LoL.
The clip from jankos about the heretics statements supports that claim aswell. Hes completely on perkz side and said that they lied so much and if he gets fired aswell he doesnt care.
Wow, knowing Weldon even from CLG Days up to TSM days being the Sports Psychologist for them, I had that massive respect for him for being that. You know. Then just to hear this crazy stuff and how it went. Man, I wish he just stayed as that, the Sports Psychologist. I bet he would've been far more successful than cosplaying as Coach. Such a disappointment.
Both TSM and G2 had massive turnarounds and strong runs when they brought Weldon in as a Sports Psychologist (although yeah when he became head coach things weren't so good)
I don't know the guy, but it's common in many sports (and in some businesses) to have lipreaders to get secrets and vice versa either covering your mouth or give them false information this way. Generally speaking, I would have tought LoL pro teams have someone in the back for strategy, so he can quickly pull up all kinds of analytics in which comps those champs were played by the team and so on. I've watched some LoL Pro plays recently and I honestly wonder if many coaches/psycologists are frauds or completely ignored by their team. In LCS and LEC it sometimes looks like the typical SoloQ throws.
its been known that for western teams coaches are really only there for inputs not really telling the team what to draft. the teams that have coaches that do it all is rare noawadays
@Kenkatsu17 so? A lot of players bad performance lays in bad mental.if they have someone who helps them gain confidence and right mindset it can boost your performance ergo play better.
Because most players are mentally weak and he helps players with their mental. He literally explained how it was taking candy from a baby because it hadn't been done yet in esports.
Dlift can say he was useless all he wants but there is for sure a clear before and after Weldon with him. People forget how much of a choker he was on a domestic level before Weldon. He didnt need game help he needed someone there to help get him past mental barriers.
I think you must've meant "internationally" and just mistyped, no one called Dlift a choker domestically except for maybe really early on, but that was before Weldon and totally unrelated
i kinda agree and disagree with this at the same time, we as a society rely on labels too much i feel, for example we have made all our students feel as though getting a degree even though it puts them in huge debt is worth it and in some cases necessary, and if someone whos not the coach talks about draft but are actually right about draft then its great, but also at the same time when someone whos not the coach for a team talking about draft could also be time wasting for the team, its like having too many cooks in the kitchen, so i honestly am 50/50
I think fake talking is a good strategy though... Coaches in the NBA and NFL also do that or hide their mouths with the clip board so the opposite team cant read their lips and know what theyre going to draft/play

All DL stories are about Bjerg getting pissed lmao
Maybe it’s cuz he wants to win
knowing a time where Bjerg was pissed is a story worth telling.
I can be a coach for sure, I've been playing solo q since 2013 and never hit diamond but it's all good

Idk how Weldon ever got a foothold in the scene. His whole persona -screamed- quack and fraud. But I guess it was still the wild west in NA esports..
