As an oldie I have been firmly stuck in reading classics. I have not really read English classics, bar Orwell, Hartley, Wodehouse. I have never annotated a book, some people, imho, go over the top. There is a book vlogger on here who seems to mark every other word, pointless. Just immerse yourself in a book, though sometimes it is useful to get some history on the time the book is set in, War and Peace for example. Even if it is a quick look on Wikipedia. This is a really good subject to cover, I hope it encourages more readers to tackle a classic. Thank you.
I do agree some people tend to take annotation a bit far. However everyone should tackle a book in a way that feels right by them. I do agree the best way to immerse yourself in a book is to not take it too far and just enjoy as you read! Thanks for your comment!
