But that circus there is NOTHING compared to how fed up I am with casuals giving excuse to Kovalev - who started quitting in the 5th RD; who was clearly eating more punches than he'd have ever expected; who was HURT by and WOBBLING after Ward's right in the 8th RD and KRUSHED with body blows (some on the line, some others UTTERLY valid!).
Ward KRUSHED the Krusher, who never gave a glimpse of strength to fight back after being caught.

I'm a Russian but I think Kov faked a low blow early in that round. But At least 1 low blow was in those last seconds . I kinda disapointed it ended like that. The ref should give Kov an 8 count and KD if he was sure all those blows are legal and let AW to finish his job. Kov was in trouble and most likely he about to lose the fight but he deserved to continue.

Kovalev should have gotten a 10 count once he sat on the ropes. I doubt that he would have survived all 12 rounds. Kovalev was mentally beaten 2 rounds prior because of Ward's body shots and aggression.

Low blow means Kovalev got hit in the jewels. He was not. He got hit with nasty body shots and folded like a cheap tent.
Kovalev now a lot of work will be: Beterbiev, Stevenson, Alvarez. If Beterbiev wins in July, he will definitely be in the fall to meet with Stevenson. Kovalev will fight Alvarez for example, in the fall. It is possible in the spring he will be able to arrange a fight with the winner of Stevenson-Beterbiev. But Arthur needed to win nemica in July. If Kovalev take one belt, probably in 2018 we will see a third fight. But if ward goes the first heavy weight, the belt will become vacant, and Sergei may be able to collect them. He's a great fighter, fast, with good defense.
Kovalev fought a good fight. Ward had an excellent game plan. Kovalev had no defense for a sustained body attack. Even if Weeks gave Kovalev 8 count and he got up let's be honest Kovalev was getting knocked out and may have took career ending damage.

If you know boxing you know Ward is the kind of intelligent fighter who would come out a second time with all the necessary adjustments to dominate his opponent in the rematch. Kovalev made no adjustments and got schooled. I had Ward winning every round but the second. Kovalev has no heart, only excuses. His team should take some responsibility for putting all that negativity and excuses in his head.

as a kov fan i can say kovalev is being too proud. he got wrecked plain and simple. ya the fight was close. but kov was also overacting on the body shots to mask real legit body damage throughout the fight. the only borderline shot was the last one but kov was done man. he's too proud. he should have taken a knee if he wanted to continue. the ref called him on it and stopped the fight. kovalev actually just let the ref call it. kov was DONE.
Andre Ward out worked Surgey Kovalev simply imposing his will on the inside landing body shots including that straight right hand played a factor especially towards the end of the fight anybody who watch the fight without being bias or a sore loser truly knows who's champ.

Like Roy jones said, the trunks are worn high, if I gave a low blow, maybe I would give one, but that's being generous. KOV got rocked, no doubt, I saw KOV with a dropped guard, backing up, feet wobbling. I would have given him a count instead of a stoppage, but it would have not gone 12 rounds in my opinion.

Kovalev was losing the mental war in the fight you notice Kovalev Twice Turned away from Ward when the fight was going against him the shots by Ward which landed on the belt broke down Kovalev slowly but surely. That's why Kovalev kept complaining to the Ref, Kovalev wanted the Ref to stop Ward from hitting his Body so every time Ward hit the belt of Kovalev, Kovalev complained to the Ref.

Ward got robbed of a legitimate and real possibility of a genuine uncontroversial stoppage victory by the referee.

Damn im disappointed in Kovalev, never in my life did i think id see that man hurt or turn his back and crouch down as to say "i quit" without actually saying it.
ward looked a Great deal better in this Fight and I believe he would have definitely won this bout regardless of the outcome. HOWEVER, I believe the Ref stopped the fight a little early and that seems to be the trend lately in boxing. maybe the Refs need some refresher training once in a while. that will enable them to stay sharp and not miss these crucial calls. we must remember though, these are boxing refs Not basketball or football. combat sports are a much different animal.
People are the same way about boxing matches that they are about politics. No matter what happens the other side is always wrong 100% of the time. 75% of the people in that ring were white yet the racial argument is just as strong as usual, I wish we could leave the racial bullshit out of just THIS ONE sport. This sport is my comfort zone and it honestly makes me a little depressed that both black and white people only seem to care about the colors of the fighters, rather than the fact that that was a very exciting bout. And although the stoppage was a bit early, Kovalev looked like he was close to finding the canvas. We see yet another example of the boxer outclassing the brawler in the long run. Kovalev's coaching staff said he lost fair and square. Kovalev hit Ward behind the head. Why are the keyboard warriors not mentioning that? His coaches said he lost. Who the fuck are you to say otherwise? It was a great fight with a bit of foul play.... On both sides, granted, but one man won, and that was the best man of the night. The best right now. The #1 pound for pound. People bring up Lomachenko. You have to consider the level of opposition. Ward was involved in a 60/40 fight the first time around against Kovalev and won. The second time around, within 7 months, he was involved in a 50/50 fight against the second best in the division. STOP HATING OR WATCH MMA

I been kicked in the groin without a cup on.On a few occasions. and when in the heat of battle it didn't stop me from completing an attack . sure I might have felt the pain during and after the physical altercation. and I can tell you from my experience kovalev did not get hit in the groin that build is way above the groin that's just a sorry excuse down by the lower part of the eight pack is not considered the groin is still part of the stomach the ABS. kovalev sounding like a sore loser, a loser that's sore😥
I lost respect for Kov, he quit once Ward sucker punched him. He had excuses about being fatigued and he was gonna end Ward's career. Then he gets knocked da eff out and blame a low blow that had nothing to do with his wobbly legs. That blow was vicious, I saw the fear in the bully's eyes.

Up to the 7th round start I thought it was even but Kovalev looked like he was out of breath by the fourth to fifth round. What anyone calls the 7th is anyone and everyone's guess.

Without question Ward was the more damaged guy after the first fight, (he was not the winner by anything resembling a rational analysis). In the second fight several blows near the end were low. This wasn't a clean or convincing win for Ward. He did a good job of making it look like he couldn't win without going south of the navel. Had he really dominated or knocked out Kovalev, he'd have a had a better chance of being a best pound for pound guy or comparing favorably w/ greats like Roy Jones.
