I would always first extract the intended amount of horsepower desired from the engine first before tuning the tranmission to maximize the engine's mechanical advantage on the road (ie. variators and clutch). While technically true, 1) sustained high rpm operation is not beneficial for moving parts and 2) due to the way and engine is designed, you would be substituting high engine speed with peak horsepower RPM (unless of course you modify the engine to work at higher RPMs). For a daily commute bike to and from work, it is much more practical, fuel efficient, and reliable to operate the engine at, or slightly below peak horsepower RPM.

You probably bought the higher model that has exchangeable battery? There will be a back cover that you can twist open with a coin. In that case, wal mart sells the replacement batteries the cheapest!
Oh if it doesn't have a battery cover then you have the same model as me. The battery inside is "technically" replaceable if you cut it open but it will no longer be waterproof and you would have a hard time closing it back up. Did you try to press and hold both buttons to see if you could reset and wake up the tach?
This has nothing to do with speed, it has to do with wasting money. There is no mechanical advantage to this, I thought that that was going to be a plug and play reprogramming chip for the governer and a car doesn't even idle at 2000 rpm after its warmed up, a car idles at around 750 to 810 rpm so why would a moped spin that fast.
hell if that engine is revving that high then the transmission is poorly geared and mods should souly be done on the transmission so that the final drive gear matches the rpm of the engine in which case I wouldn't wast money on a box that gives readings when the power to ground distribution is causing the moped to be more inefficient and cause higher emissions and a carbon footprint than V16 Diesel tuned to role coal on a constant. Think about it.
A scooter, much like motorcycles have smaller pistons and generate less power at 2000RPM versus a car's engine. The same could be said that a motorcycle and scooter can spin up to 14,000RPM, why can't a car spin that fast? Your lack of understanding above shows why you can't reap the benefits from installing tachometer into a scooter. I believe no further discussion is necessary at this point whether it helps find more speed or a complete waste of money.
My scooter already had digital gauges for gas, rpm, odometer, speedometer, ect. Very handy to have, but not a tool that makes your scooter faster....I hope that was a misprint or something and that you really don't think that, lol

Yes, increasing engine displacement is often times the easiest solution for people lacking understanding of how the scooter operates. However, a properly tuned 50cc could easily outrun a poorly tuned 70cc for the same reason above. Therefore I wouldn't necessarily call this documentary and knowledge a scam.
I have a 150cc 07 rocketa. The body panels are kind of wearing out and I was wondering if body panels from a slightly older or newer scooter will work? Mine is the limited edition so it is kind of difficult to find parts for that model.
if u look on the bottom left side of the engine(right below ur variator) it will tell u wht type. U may need to take off ur cvt casing to see the model etched #'s. Normally there are two diff kinds of 150cc engines if Im not mistaken. One is slighter bigger thn the other

How does this make scooter faster ? Can some1 explane ?
Follow through the episodes and you will see.
The tachometer only reads the rpm-s, it won't make you go any faster
That's equivalent to saying a larger carburetor provides more fuel, it won't make you go any faster
@@FIFTYmil A larger carburettor can provide more fuel, and it won't you go any faster! You actually stated a fact, One point for you! Wow you're on a roll,, or was i on a troll ? Nevermind..
@@9emelet852 This kid took the bait. This statement made my day "And, if you add a bigger carb to a stock engine it wont make a difference, cuz you have to modify the variator and the clutch. Also with a stock exhaust the gases wont escape the cylinder, and you will just blow spark plugs."
How fast will it go if i have a 49cc
This is a 49cc too, check the final episode for the results.

Yeah I don’t see how a gauge will give you any performance increase
But did you see that at the end of the title it says "Episode Intro"?
I don’t see how that has anything to do with a gauge not being a performance increase
Long Live Loaf well therein lies your answer. Watch the rest of the episodes to gain performance
This is so dump. Do NOT listen to anything he says😂😂!
Note this video title clearly indicates it is a episode intro. Proceed to the next episode to learn how to use it to tune your scooter before jumping to conclusions.
@@FIFTYmil I did and your next episode is even worse, complete imaginary improvements.
@@FarmerFpv Well that explains why some people could never tune their scooter properly. There's over 20 episodes documenting improvements that were significant.
Fiftymil you're just an idiot with a moped, you should see what I'm doing to mine, swapping a engine and transmission in there, guess what, without a tac.
how’s this bike so fresh
Is that a compliment? Thanks
FIFTYmil yes
@@caljam3599 Thanks!
not sure how that makes the scooter "faster"...its just a simple tach
not sure how a dyno makes an engine produce more "power" .....its just a simply dyno
@@FIFTYmil Wow another true statement, Point number 2 for you! And yes a dyno does not produce more power.. In case you were juts still thinking about it..
Don't be not sure how it makes a scooter faster, be sure that it does not make the scooter faster, that's the important thing.
whats the nameof your bike

I put one of these on my scooter and it made it go 75% faster. Not really, you see FIFTYmil, I can talk bollocks like you too. hahaha. Adding a tacho to a vehicle DOES NOT make it go faster. I suppose you believe go faster stripes work too. lol
You see Ian, if you have the tiniest bit of critical thinking skills you would realize the true purpose of installing a tachometer and how it would improve your tuning game. Clearly 674 people did. The episodes after will show you how I achieved it too. Why you dont do new videos ???
New videos coming soon! Is there anything you'd like me to explore?
my 4 stroke chinese scooter 50cc already came with a analog tacho...
Nice. They are not as accurate as digital ones though if you want to know the exact RPM.
FIFTYmil i dont need that. I just need it to go faster without much effort and cash because its going only 42 km/h....
That's pretty slow even for a 4 stroke!
FIFTYmil i know right! And i dont know what is wrong because everything works fine, even mechanic approved that. Or am I too heavy for it? (240 lbs)
Andy the car nerd ah that makes sense 240lb is indeed a bit more work for the little engine. What rpm are you seeing right now while accelerating?
Honda zuma?
No this is a piaggio typhoon.
How to make a 50cc faster. Step one. Burn the fucking thing till is looks like a burnt lasagna. Step 2 get a 125. The end
Scrap that, just buy my ducati
Just buy a bore kit, best way to add more power
You'd be amazed how many imroperly installed/tuned big bores I have outran on my stock 50cc.
@@FIFTYmil lmao stfu clown sure a 50cc can even stay behind a 70cc
I have a question,
What is your question?
@@FIFTYmil I figured it out thank you for your reply
How the hell is a tachometer going to make it faster all a tach does is indicates Revolutions the engine make Per Minute. hence RPM
Does a dyno help an engine extract more horsepower?
@@FIFTYmil no it shows how much horse power your making i suppose you'd know that if you would know what a dyno is
@@elitegamer6582 That is precisely the answer I was waiting for. So why do we need a dyno if it doesn't help you extract more power from an engine? Just tune your engine with your butt dyno mate.
So how does it make my scooter faster?
Follow through the episodes and it should help you make your scooter faster. Cheers
Does this really work?
Watch the rest of the episodes and you will see that I put proof to theory after each modification.
Scooters come with tachs!
Cool story, bro.
lmao. maybe a chinese speedometer that shows 130km when ur really going 50km. that will give u the impression of going faster
lmao. Maybe. If you don't know what a GPS speedometer is which clearly, you certainly don't.
It's a tach so that has nothing to do with making it faster!
Watch the next episode to see how i put it to use extensively, resulting in a scooter that become 100% faster 0-30mph and 40% improvement to top speed.
Wher can i buy this
A lot of you asked where I got my parts: This is where I bought my tachometer:
eBay Affiliated Link: goo.gl/LC0oA3
FIFTYmil tnx
you're welcome!
there is no rpm limit on 2 stroke
While technically true, 1) sustained high rpm operation is not beneficial for moving parts and 2) due to the way and engine is designed, you would be substituting high engine speed with peak horsepower RPM (unless of course you modify the engine to work at higher RPMs).
For a daily commute bike to and from work, it is much more practical, fuel efficient, and reliable to operate the engine at, or slightly below peak horsepower RPM.
There is my friend in many ways
If you want a faster scooter there is nothing more important than installing a "Tach" on, or installing a "Tachometer" on your bike. LOL
Those first words of wisdom lol, now I'm having more fun reading the comments,,HA
@@HEREISMULLEER Have fun while watching other videos on how to tune your scooter that never seems to get faster LOL. I mean, you ended up here for a reason, am I right?
@@FIFTYmil Yep, you are correct , i was searching on "How to make a scooter faster" but it was not correct , was it? Your video shows me how to mount a Tacho, not actually what i was searching for. ??? It seems that everyone here was searching the same thing but their search ended up with "How to mount a tacho" not quite the same outcome ??
mine came in and doesn't come on :/
You probably bought the higher model that has exchangeable battery? There will be a back cover that you can twist open with a coin. In that case, wal mart sells the replacement batteries the cheapest!
unfortunately the back doesn't come off, maybe I can pry it off?
Oh if it doesn't have a battery cover then you have the same model as me. The battery inside is "technically" replaceable if you cut it open but it will no longer be waterproof and you would have a hard time closing it back up.
Did you try to press and hold both buttons to see if you could reset and wake up the tach?
FIFTYmil that turned it on instantly lol, thanks :D
Glad it helped. Their instructions leave much to be desired but I guess I can't complain when their stuff are so cheap (and useful!). Happy tuning.
I believe no further discussion is necessary at this point whether it helps find more speed or a complete waste of money.
can you tell whats the gadget that you installed ?

Alex Petersen Yup that is what a tachometer does
My scooter already had digital gauges for gas, rpm, odometer, speedometer, ect. Very handy to have, but not a tool that makes your scooter faster....I hope that was a misprint or something and that you really don't think that, lol
Does a dyno allow a car to produce more power?
No, It just measures the power being produced. A tacho measures engine speed, nothing more.

My 50cc can do 58mph.... You have increased engine displacement by nearly 50% and only manage 60mph?
I need to know what to add to my 2018 taotao racer50 to make it go faster. I ordered a 100cc bore kit, a 39 mm air filer, a high performance camshaft, roller weights and some valve sets. what else do i need?

the engine is the work horse, develop the engine, bore, values carb, then the drive train (cvt) to deliver the horsepower. stick to the facts and put your opinions away.
how this gets over 200k views is a mystery. title needs to be changed to "tachometer install" because this won't change the speed at all. Nothing wrong with having a tach, but having a misleading title is lame.
It's the same title for the entire series of episodes...
More lies , just full of lies how can having a tax make the bike go faster, U said , not going to borer, lier clickbait, if U really think hooking that up will make scooter go faster, then U should not be making videos ,miss leading poeple
Before you go off on your rant and name calling , you do realize this is the introductory episode title name for the entire series documenting how i made my scooter faster right? Each episode involves a change and the subsequent episode shows the result made. The final episode sums up what I have done and displays the improvement in acceleration time and top speed I've achieved.
Sorry I can't help people who hope they can solve world peace in just one episode??? #firstworldproblems#spoonfedworld#crytomama#readingcomprehensionfail#cantreadforshits
SCAM, only way to boost youre engine is to upgrade youre engine kit(cilinder, piston, segments, upgrade cylinder head only if you have 4T engine in 2T engine you can keep youre cylinder head) EX: when you have 49cc engine, you can buy 80cc engine kit, ENJOY!

Mine is the limited edition so it is kind of difficult to find parts for that model.

my scooter engine number is 150 qmj it was sold to me new as a 150 but I thought a 150 would say 157 qmj do you know anything about it
if u look on the bottom left side of the engine(right below ur variator) it will tell u wht type. U may need to take off ur cvt casing to see the model etched #'s. Normally there are two diff kinds of 150cc engines if Im not mistaken. One is slighter bigger thn the other

i don't get it your wrapping a runner cable around rubber it makes no sense
crazy huh? That's all it take for the tacho pick up wire to detect spark and thereby give you a RPM reading. It works by electrical current travelling axial to the coil and generating a magnetic field in which a seperate current travels to the tach sensors.
Just buy a faster more expensive scooter. Why spend all that money in upgrades.
