    I always love how obsessed and in love you are with your dogs. The love clearly goes both ways and you both love training. I know it might seem like a simple thing but too often I see training sessions that are about dominance rather than a relationship.

    • @weedhigh2564

      It is hard for a trainer to establish a relationship with a dog he sees once a week but when you train your own dog its a bit different and thats when the relationship really comes into play. Now dominance has a place in dog.training but not for all dog breeds, some breeds will never listen to you if you are just loving to them, thats why Alrick is such an impressive dog, cuz he so special he no need no stinkin dominance anymore. See I have rotties and sometimes they need to be reminded who is in charge, even just amongst themselves. Thats just how they are, if you give a rottie nothing but love he will take it all day but after that a simple recall will be a tough achivement if that dog also dont understand who the boss is.

    She worried about the dog (wearing head to toe fur) getting cold but no love for her fellow man out in shorts, no hat, no hair, and no gloves. 😂
    I’m in Minnesota and don’t worry about dogs getting cold unless the temp drops below zero or they don’t have an under coat. Huskies, Malamute, Samoyed, etc. are excluded of course!

      Not the OP but the best training treat is the one YOUR dog loves the MOST! My Shepherd likes food but he would walk through fire for his ball. One of my other dogs would do anything for a kiss on the head! :)

      Question: We can't see the restraint device for the dog while you are driving around. I don't need to say the tragedy of a MVA where an animal goes flying and has to be euthanized due to injuries from being improperly secured while driving.
      Our state takes it very seriously.
      Maybe a motor vehicle safety video would be helpful? 🙏

    • @hot_wheelz
      @hot_wheelz Рік тому +3

      Makes no difference. The old wives tale of batteries becoming flat or somehow otherwise damaged by sitting on concrete is from the old days when batteries were commonly encased in a lead box. Modern car / bike / truck / boat batteries that are encased in plastic really couldn't care if you sit them on metal, concrete or any other conductive or earthed surface.

    • @MyleeBenoit
      @MyleeBenoit 3 роки тому +4

      A very high calorie food, because his dogs are so active so they have trouble gaining calories. If your dog is not high active you can’t feed them on the high calorie diet or else it will gain weight. Dr Tim’s food I think

    What kind of words do you use for the commands, and why do you use them? 👌🤔👁👅👁 would you recommend using such words?

    • @willek1335
      @willek1335 Рік тому

      @@cherylmillard2067 Question if I may. Do you think it's ideal for a dog to have many different commands for the same activities, or a more simplified structure?. Our family members uses different commands, and some walk with it relaxed on long leach while others likes to keep it closer. The dog is not easy to walk with.
      Is this mixed handling good or bad for the dog? Does it not matter? The reason why I ask is because it's struggling with being very jumpy and nervous around other small dogs, and can even jump towards kids, small children, old people, and other people who are nervous in nature. (We always have a rope to it) It's not like other rottweilers we've had before, so do you think symmetry in our commands and handling matter or not?

    • @adde9506
      @adde9506 Рік тому

      @@willek1335 Dogs are like kids, or kids are like dogs, if you like. Having a single set of commands is easier for a dog that is learning, but your dog will learn different rules for different people just like children do. Being nervous around people and other dogs has nothing to do with the leash length or variation of commands; that comes from the dog's own personality, how well you have socialized them, and your reactions to other people and dogs when your dog is around. If you are nervous the dog will misbehave when you encounter someone, your dog will interpret that the presence of that person makes you nervous and they will be nervous. Your dog will also read and react to the emotions of the people you encounter similarly, but not as strongly as they will to your emotions.
      Definitely consult a professional, but in the meantime, I'd suggest you start by introducing your dog to people you know won't be nervous without good reason and working on YOUR confidence with your dog around others. Even if you're normally a confident dog handler, that doesn't mean your confident with this specific dog. Work on getting your dog good at following commands, even when they'd rather be doing something else. If you can teach your dog to come or sit in the middle of eating, you'll feel much more confident that they'll follow that command when they're trying to play with a child and accidentally bulldoze the kid. Also, don't pull on the leash, yank/jerk the leash; it's more noticeable for the dog and doesn't give them the ability to lean on the leash and forget about you.
      Getting the whole family on board with which commands mean what isn't a bad idea, especially if people are using the same word to mean different things. If it's already a confused mess, starting over with commands in a different language is a good idea. You don't have to speak the language or use the words correctly or even source them all from the same or real language, but I do suggest picking a language(s) that isn't common in your area to avoid stupid pedantic arguments with people you don't know. Germanic languages are popular for this because the words are short and hard sounding, so they make good commands. Also, make sure you are *commanding* the dog, not asking, not sing-songing, not suggesting. It's an order, and you need to make it sound like one until following it is a well-established habit for the dog. Don't yell, but be slightly louder than your speaking voice and very sure, like a second-grade teacher who is no longer entertaining questions about how to evacuate the building if there's a volcano, or aliens, or a stampede of dolphins.

    • @GusI727
      @GusI727 Рік тому

      Take your dog outside on a leash w the sole intent to use the bathroom, no play no food, no engagement. Repeat the word “potty” and you can use a physical gesture if you like (I raise and point my right arm). Wait them out till they go then immediately bring them in to their crate.

    • @zombbae
      @zombbae Рік тому

      I say “do you have to go potty” as an “outside” command and when they get back inside I say “good job potty.” Always repeating the command plus good job. Then reward with treats.

    Refuse to ever wear a mask! Why?

    • @AstiJay
      @AstiJay Рік тому +5

      I cringe seeing it on these videos from 2020 - ‘22.
      I vape so I made a video of myself vaping, putting on a mask as snug as possible and exhaling to show how much escapes the mask - which is nearly all of it. Then I sent it to family. They were shocked. What I found shocking was that despite this visible proof, almost all of them still insisted masks work. Fear is a powerful motivator.

    • @xXBenutzer235Xx
      @xXBenutzer235Xx 4 місяці тому

      @@AstiJay You do realize that that is not the main reason of wearing a mask ? Its so that when you cough or sneeze or talk the small droplets you emit that might carry a virus are physically stopped from flying into everyones face around you. It has been proven over and over and over how much masks help in doing that. Its somewhere in the area of 100 times less risk of infection when wearing an FFP2 mask vs even a surgical mask. Not to even talk about not wearing anything at all.
      If a mask filtered all of the vapor you exhale that would also mean that you would barely be able to breathe through it. Which wouldn't really make sense.
