I recommended my friend make one when her neighborhood started to go after the library books. At least when they're on your property they can't really do anything about what books you put in it.
Same here. We have "free library" beside an actual library, And everything inside it are unwanted uninteresting books that people wanted to get rid of. Ugh it's just so sad to see
@@Clemmiesbookies I was literally just pointing out that it's easier for her to read more because she has the time to do it. I didn't say anything derogatory at all.

Love that you're reading books that aren't the norm! That's the exact reason I love to get all my books at thrift stores. Would love to see a video like this with thrift store books!!

I love normal people and conversations with friends! I feel like Rooney always writes very realistic characters with realistic thoughts compared to what we are used to reading. It makes me feel closer to the characters throughout their lives and thoughts:)
Debut doesnt mean its the first book shes ever written. Its the first book of hers that ever been PUBLISHED. To be a writer you have to send your stuff in and get rejected. Im sure Sally Rooney went through so much
Yeah, I hear all the horrors from my writer friends from Llewelyn and Weiser books. I’m always curious what the books might have been like if they didn’t tell them to change, redact or restructure the books during the editing phase as well.
Can I be honest, I really don’t understand why a book is automatically bad because it discusses a taboo topic? It’s fictional, it’s not meant to be a manual to follow for your real life…
I really love this concept ! I personally call these libraries "wild libraries" or "bibliothèques sauvages" in french, and almost everytime i go to one of these, i find absolute pearls ! Truly the best place to find unexpected stories :D
Haley is one of my only two comfort youtubers. I watch almost all my videos on 1.5x, but with Haley's I never do. Not because it's a faster pace, but *because* it's so slow and therapeutic. I love the pinterest-y vibes, and the way her videos manage to be entertaining even if you've never even heard of the book she's reading. I always watch her videos as soon as they come out. :)))
We have a little library in my neighborhood, but it's mostly little kids' books. It does make sense since theres lots of families in my neighborhood and i love the idea! It really plants a love to read for little kids!
I love Free Little Libraries! There are none around where I live which is sad but I still love them. Also I just finished Better Than The Movies because Haley said it was her favorite romance book ever so I had to read it. It is literally my most favorite book I’ve ever read. I annotated the whole time I was reading and I wrote down the lyrics to the songs on the side of the pages and it was so much fun!! If you haven’t read it you seriously need to!
I love the Salley Rooney books as well. I read Conversation with Friends and Normal People this past summer in a couple weeks because they were so short. I like how she writes delusions because it helps me picture what the characters may look like.
Actually "Conversations with Friends" was her debut novel. Glad that you enjoyed "Normal People". I am amongst the party that didn't like it. I'm willing to give her another shot thought. I plan to read "Conversation with Friends" sometime in the future. Hopefully, I'll like that one.
I read 'Conversations with Friends', and I absolutely hated it. I struggled finishing it altogether. I haven't read 'Normal people' but after that I'm not sure I want to
I almost feel like a knife piercing through me when I read a bad review of Normal People. Though it's understandable it's subjective but if you understand the depth in the characters you'll love it, delving intimately into personal thoughts and space. Love the characters love the book😭❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You look so cute in the thumbnail it’s giving coraline vibes but not in a creepy way! We have a little library on my street it’s good because we living in a family oriented neighbourhood so always books for the kids 😊
If you ever do this again, reach out to your local library to see about where the little free libraries might be! A lot of the time they know where they are or the "friends of the library" stock them. Friends is the fundraising group for the library.
6:35 You’re absolutely right, his stories are much more fun to analyze and easier to read with the guiding hand of a teacher. You should revisit the story sometime and I’d recommend Felicia’s Journey by Trevor, it’s a bit confusing but so rewarding in the end
There are five open bookshelves in walking distance from my flat and I frequently get books from them and honestly, some of them are great finds, some are just plain weird and some are disgusting. I don’t know what people do with their books, but the amount of weird sticky spots I found on and in books is very irritating to me. But it’s still fun. Once I found a collection of 12 Agatha Christie books in perfect condition and once I found a collection of 5 books about the former dictator of my country (it was a weirdly sympathetic collection). So it’s always interesting to see which books other people read and which books people want to give away.
The library has come such a long way- the shelves are getting full 🥰 My vote for the star’s name - comet 💫 since you’re name is Haley and he’s a star - sorry if it’s lame 😂
Funny enough, the 3 little libraries in my town are either religious text and harlequin. Sometimes a childrens book, but it looks like most dont bother with a book exchange.

But I’m honestly happy you enjoyed it since I gave the book to someone else who wanted to read it. So hopefully she will get a use out of the book and enjoy it where I would’ve just thrown it in the trash. 😅
