Wow pasaanger has some great backup musicians. Played the melody an octave above for him so he could just strum and focus on the lyrics.
Yes! They are a fantastic bunch and very talented! (Jon Hansen/Peter Marin/Benji Edgar/Rob Calder) They have contributed to many of Passenger's albums, Young As The Morning, Old As The Sea and The Boy Who Cried Wolf to name a couple. They work very well together!

Tracy Chapman's debut was the best album of 1988. And sounds nothing like 1988.
I agree 100%. I was born in 1988 and grew up on Tracy Chapman .this song has been a huge part of my life, eventually turning into my reality in a sense.
Listening to it now, it was so ahead of other musicians of the 80s and 90s, both lyrically and vocally. She never tried to be anything but herself, and she did a phenomenal job of letting her talent speak for itself.

Nice cover, but do you get the sense that the shiny happy fans in the NL get the real sense of despair in the song, which is the black experience in Urban Cleveland ohio? Not sure but still its nice to play the song for new generations and maybe open a few eyes,,,,
Maybe. Maybe not. But with these types of covers it does indeed pass them along to the next generation and hopefully they then will explore the original artists and lyrics and learn the history behind the music.
