Wow, of all of the other draw my life, nothing strike me more than this one. Thank you for making this video. Im 1 year younger than you, abusive father, and he also shamed me out of my dream of becoming an artist.. at 31, im still broke and struggling, as of right now yet to find the comitment to actually start my youtube chanel. Thank you for leading by example! Oh wow, I am, so sorry for all you have gone through and also your mom too.
I now understand your darker side that comes across in your art a lot more.
I mentioned previously that my brother died. He was an amazing artist. When he was 9 and I was 2, our mother passed away from cancer. Our dad followed 14 years later, also of cancer. My brother at 9 was really vulnerable and back then, there were no programs to help kids with grief. My dad had 7 kids to raise and had his own sadness, so never talked about our mother. It would have been too painful. This greatly impacted my brother. I remember at his funeral, all his friends saying 'at least he is with his mother now', as they knew how much that lose impacted him. As an artist though, his style was more like yours. He could draw and paint anything, but he focused heavily on goth style and vampires. I think he was obsessed with death, probably since he was that innocent little 9 year old boy. I kind of wonder how he would have turned out, had he not gone through the trauma.
Our childhoods scar us so much. Even as adults when you would think we should be getting our shit back together, the trauma stays. It doesn't take much for those memories to come back.
I am glad for you that you got to your happy place after everything you went through. There were some huge obstacles in your journey, but you got there in the end,
I understand that completely. So many "what ifs" and constantly wondering if things had been different would they have been better? I am happy with where I am now, so I don't have too many regrets, but my heart does break for my mom, because I know she blames herself for my sister.

I've just found your channel and deeply look forward to binge watching all your current videos and future ones. I absolutely loved the honesty and truth of your 'draw your life' story, you've gone through so much and had to stay strong but it sounds like through it all you've managed to find out so much about yourself like how strong and resilient you can be, you found someone special who loves you for you, you have some beautiful babies who I'm sure will agree are the best mom they could have and now you're finding a way to let out all that wonderful creative talent you've been bottling up. I love your UA-cam channel about art. Your art is really inspiring for my create this book. I watched this UA-cam video and was like, "Wow. No one in the history of UA-cam never expressed their actuall lifestyle like this." I love that you really express yourself and your art. Do you have any pointers in becoming an art youtuber?
Thank you! I'm still learning so much myself and I think that's part of it. My advice is If you want to start, just start. As you go, you'll figure out what things work and what things don't. Watch others. See what's working for them and don't copy, but put your spin on it. And just really engage with your audience. You have to build a community and make friends, because that's what people want to watch, a friend.

Thank you. Cliche as it is, I'm happy everything happened the way it did to bring me to where I am now. I have found my happiness and hopefully we just keep rolling in that direction!
@@artwithashleighmonet I understand. I've had a rather difficult life too. But I haven't really found my happy place yet. Due to things that happened in my past I now have stress related seizures and now have brain damage because I've had so many of them and had lots of blows to the head. But I'm trying to find my happy place now with the help of colouring and crafting ❤️
@@gagaforgluing8247 I'm so so sorry to hear that, It must be so difficult to navigate everyday life with that on top of everything. Crafting can be very therapeutic though. I hope it gets you to your happy place soon 💕
@@artwithashleighmonet thankyou. Yes it is very hard, especially as I don't have any warning signs before I have them. I just fall on the floor and have convulsions. I've cracked ribs, cracked my eye socket and broken a cheek bone, as well as other injuries.
I find crafting and colouring very therapeutic, but I also find it difficult because of the brain damage. I can't ever see an image in my head as to what I want it to look like, so I just have to go with it and hope for the best. Sometimes it turns out really good, but other times not so good. But I'll keep trying 🥰
Aw, hugs. You've had a rough path. Hope this new channel does well- but more importantly, is a fun creative outlet for you.
Btw, a video doing art with your kiddo(s) would be fun. (Not showing their faces, of course, unless you're cool with that)
Thank you! I'm not opposed to showing them. They both love to be recorded and my son was featured a lot on my old channel. I have already planned out a future video with him (after Christmas).

My name is Phoebe. for a long time, it was such an uncommon name that I always knew someone was talking to me, if I heard it. But in the last few years, it's become more and more popular.... but it still feels strange when I hear my name, and it's not in reference to myself. For a long time, I didn't like my name.... then I did like it, mostly because it was different... now I still like it.... but it's not so unique anymore. Oh well.
Aw, I love it so much. The main reason we chose it for our daughter was because it was unique. We had a list of our top 5 and asked my cousin to weigh in. She's a teacher and said that in her years teaching, she had a student in her class with every name we liked EXCEPT Phoebe. As an "Ashley" in the 90's, I definitely didn't want her to be one of 3 girls in class with the same name. Hahaha.
