    Great,thanks for sharing! When using Agisoft Metashape, how did you declare the technical parameters?

  • @DanFrederiksen

    Agisoft certainly seems better for thin beams. With modern AI however we should soon see photogrammetry that is nothing short of perfect. Like it was modelled in cad. That'll be nice.

      I agree. I kind of think it will take the fun out of the challenge.

    Great video, is the Autel Evo II 6K a good drone for mapping? Which drone would you recommend to use for mapping?

    • @GM6DroneMapping
      @GM6DroneMapping  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks, Clearline. The Evo 2 has an impressive little video camera but Im not sure what the image quality is. Ultimately, you want a camera with a large sensor and global shutter. However you can map with a rolling shutter like on the Evo. I dont really have a drone I favor over anther. It depends on what you would be mapping the most. For someone just starting out I would say get a camera with 20mp or higher and with the ability to use flight planning software for mapping.

    nice demo,
    in metashape also you could generate a dense point cloud, that way it can be filtered out and refined, but I see you generated the mesh (3d model) from deph maps

    • @GM6DroneMapping
      @GM6DroneMapping  3 роки тому +1

      Yes. It seems like it is much cleaner from depth maps. Unless I missed something cleaning the dense cloud can be very time consuming for some models.

    What software did you use to capture the data?

    • @GM6DroneMapping
      @GM6DroneMapping  2 роки тому

      It's been a few years since I did this, so I am not completely sure, but I probably used Drone Harmony.

    Hello, which software generates better DTM and DSM? And which one does it more easily? And in pix4d you have to classify points to get the DTM? Thank you

    • @GM6DroneMapping
      @GM6DroneMapping  3 роки тому +1

      You do not have to classify points to create a DTM or DSM in all cases. If the land has nothing on it then you can generate the model and create contours.

    Hello, I have a rather urgent question. I performed a "low" quality treatment (cloud, alignment...etc). If I want to switch to "high" quality, is there a way to reuse the work done in low quality to reduce the working time or do I have to redo everything from the beginning in high quality?
    Thanks.

    • @GM6DroneMapping
      @GM6DroneMapping  2 роки тому +1

      @Plenty Facts you may be able use the low res to produce the high if you have preserve depth maps checked in the preference settings. Try it to see but if it completes in a few minutes or less then it will not work.

      @@GM6DroneMapping Thanks for answer.
      For example, if i add photos in order tjo optimize the result in some places where there are a lack of details, so i should start again or there is a solution to maintain the current result and just modify that place. Thank you so much.

    • @GM6DroneMapping
      @GM6DroneMapping  2 роки тому +1

      @Plenty Facts I have heard you add images to improve areas if the box is ticked for keep depth maps. But I have never tried it so I am not sure. Please let me know how it turns out.

      Thank you. It has been several years since capturing this building, but most likely, I used Drone Harmony or DJIgo.

    Nice video. Thanks - what kind of file you provide in this case for client ? obj? And what kind of viewer for final result you recommend to your customer? Thanks in advance

    • @GM6DroneMapping
      @GM6DroneMapping  3 роки тому +2

      The file type depends on the client. Engineers like the AutoCad files but I like .obj or .glb. The viewers I like the best are Agisoft's viewer. or CloudCompare which is free so your client won't have to pay extra to view it

      Thank you. I have my own recipes for processing but this model I did with Agisoft's default parameters. Honestly I was surprised about the times because Agisoft is normally faster than Pix4d.

    That is really nice mesh from Metashape! I have been struggling with the same structure, and I always got very messy results (a lot of noise and ground points were treated as part of the structure). Can you share some tips of how to get this result? Which camera did you use and what was your flight pattern? Best Regards

    • @GM6DroneMapping
      @GM6DroneMapping  2 роки тому +1

      I used the Phantom 4 pro. If the building is tall and narrow, you can also fly straight up and down. Create a column of pictures. There is other things you can do but that should help a lot.

      You can process bigger jobs with Agisoft than with Pix4D. You can make more improvements with Agisoft. It is cheaper. Overall it has more options than Pix4D
