@@wealthy_islife6195 I'm the same way. I fight mostly southpaw and sometimes switch it up. I can kick with both legs on the switch. I write with my right and throw with my left. I all mixed up.
I was a natural southpaw. And I thought it was wrong because I’m right handed so I trained myself out of it. I’m trying to work southpaw now and your videos are Fantastic. Seriously Thank you
I never went pro or had any fights or whatever but when training I always felt like southpaw was my best stance, better straight, better lead hook, better combo speed & I also tried to train myself out of it and got a decent orthodox stance and that left me with two decent stances and (weirdly enough) two different styles of fighting depending on what stance I fight out of. So keep training your orthodox, it’s a good ace to have up your sleeve when someone’s picked up your habits from southpaw.
One of the most important southpaw tools is learning how to place your left to the body. Our lead hooks land on the opposite side of the body from where the liver is. Once you learn how to step off or close the distance and land the left to the body it changes the gamr
I've noticed southpaws tend to grasp the underlying concepts behind technique's and there applications in boxing about five times as quick as orthodox kids and have a far more profound understanding of the intricate ways in which they blend and connect. Always figured it had something to do with breeding.
Southpaws of course have the advantage cuz the orthodox generally don't really have to face the southpaws, whereas the southpaws almost always have orthodox as their opponents. But then again, it's all about the fighting spirit, not technique at this level.
(I'm not a boxer just a fan but hopefully I can help) : technically, it's equal for both sides jab vs jab; but the orthodox fighter typically isn't as used to fighting an unorthodox opponent and therefore reverts back to what they know: if a jab is thrown at them they are used to slipping to their 'traditional outside' the right to avoid a cross/ over hand therefore leaning into a southpaw's 2. Against a southpaw they are now leaning into their opponent's power hand cross/ over hand. Ross could explain it much better than me/ and if I'm wrong please correct me! The jab may also be left out to blind angles/slap the lead arm down/ gain a sense of distance for the cross
Because the orthodox always come running into a straight left. Letfys have been fighting rightys our whole life. We got y'all pegged. Knocked out two people with this punch.
What you don't get is that southpaw like myself and I am a boxer, is that we love leaning towards that outside lead foot. It's so beautifully natural for us to move that way.
@@nathanthompson949 as a Southpaw I can say I ALWAYS liked to move my body to the right, feels comfortable and natural to me, and is natural that we will always be outside their lead foot and this is our comfort zone of attack and defense. Did you already thank God for being a Southpaw? I mind this like a gift and bless from the heaven lol.
I’m a forced southpaw because I dislocated my right arm, right now I feel more comfortable in southpaw than orthodox, the ‘left hook’ is deadly when enhanced
Same here brother, but I was naturally born lefty but I was pretty born like that with my right arm so I have to box in the different way and have my right arm more for defense than offense and can’t go too much on offense because I could risk injury
I'm a southpaw, ambidextrous, my left hand is stronger, right hand has more hand eye coordination so I use my right as my jab for speed and aim and my left for power and finishing blows.
Kevin Ku It's a habit most experienced fighters have, its more defensive and does protect the liver more. But if you intend to box, never start boxing with your lead hand down. This is boxing 101, always keep them hands up
Kevin Ku well I’m a southpaw kickboxer and reason why I fight low hand like that!!!,first off your jab is disguised when low so can’t see it or read it as good and way quicker, secondly protects body which like they say is liver, third can’t be kicked in body or knee it really hurts so easy to block and easy to catch kicks, although in boxing you have to be very good fighter and fast to have balls to be that close and still do it,
Either. Outside is lower risk, potential high reward. Inside is higher risk, potential high reward. Gotta mix things up though. I'd say a 70/30 split outside/inside is good.
Russ James thanks Russ, if I want use with feet inside I should circle towards the strong hand of right handed oponent right? Thanks for your attention, keep the hard work
Outside is ideal, if either person has the Outside that is ok, but if your foot is Inside theirs you have very limited options, best to Jab and move but of course that is Boxing if you are involved in MMA having the Lead foot Inside isn't bad at all because Wrestling options like the Inside Trip become available but since its a video of Boxing I figured that was your interest!

Should’ve sticked with your natural southpaw could’ve build up your strength in your left hand. You wasn’t wrong it’s all natural
In fact, Bruce Lee, a natural right-hander, fought in a southpaw stance so he could have his power hand and foot closer to his opponent.

I’m right handed but naturally southpaw ,so I like to do the 123 jab cross end with the right hook.
My biggest advantage is my foot work and my dominant leg being forward makes me agile and strong. Idk why people hate on right handed southpaws
I'm a one too .... And we both know we two got strong hook
Works everytime 👌🏿💯🥊
I switched to southpaw because I love that slick boxing style and my right hook is my money punch.

How about Zab judah
I notice a lot of these guys have their right hand quite low, is there a reason for this?
I'm guessing because when your stace is southpaw, your liver is at the front, making you susceptible to liver shots :)
This. Getting hit in the liver is like having your scrotum slammed in a door.
