I have a friend who went to school with Jorja. Jorja would bully the friend because of her darkskin. What a coincidence when Jorja has supporters who are mostly darkskin skin and black. The friend who got bullied by her is finally coming out and speaking about it.

Thank you for this information. This is a generational problem where dark skinned children and adults often get bullied or treated badly because of their dark skin tone. It is very disappointing to hear that jorja was or is a willing participant in something so awful and I will no longer be listening to any of her music.

I saw Jorja Smith being interviewed here on UA-cam and she spoke about when she was younger, how she had a preference for light skin, how all her chosen friends were White and how she worried about going out in the sun because she was fearful her skin would become too dark. For Jorja to reveal this about herself speaks volumes within itself. I have met many biracials who permanently feel this way and only embrace their White side. For that reason alone I have no interest in her or her music.
@@NN-jd5ul I saw the same thing and she was talking about her experience of being only 1 of 3 or 4 girls of color in a predominately white school. When a person is young like that they certainly are not wise in the ways of the world or know the long history of discrimination, what they only know is that they want to fit in with the majority/the crowd and not be "different." You can't fault a child for that and that's what she was at that time. It's always a matter of context, and we all need to remember that and not be so quick to judge another person.
