Testament to our passion for afl it was announced yesterday that we have a record number of members in the afl. One in every 26 people in Australia is a member of an AFL club. I’ve been a member of the Adelaide Crows since their inception in 1991.
Bruce McAvaney and Dennis Cometti were the best of the best at football commentary. Sadly they are retired now.
That Nick Davis goal was one of three in three minutes, it was amazing that's why there going off like a welsh lunchbox GO BLUES RARARA
13:20 the Gary Moorcraft mark I saw this live on TV and knew straight away it was mark of the year. He had an amazing game that day. For a little guy he ran rings around his bigger opponents
I like the way you set up your screen giving the game the majority of space and your face a nice neat quarter screen top left. I wish others would follow your setup. 10/10 for watchability Sir. Well done. And I’m glad you like our game. Pretty good huh?!
Thanks man yeah if I ever make it to doing more reactions thats the way I feel it should be and yes I've watched a few afl games and it is awesome 👌
4:50 I was at this match. That last few seconds was the only time Sydney was ahead all night! We were crying tears of joy. It was an elimination semi final, Sydney went on to win the Premiership a couple of weeks later. The close-up of the goal umpire, the camera was shaking cos the entire stadium was shaking from the crowd reactions. I was on ground level, on metres of solid concrete, and I've never felt that before or since in decades of footy matches. I still get a shiver down the spine whenever I see this. Almost 20 years later! (it was 2005)
I actually think the silence at full time of the drawn GF was perfect.
Glad you're enjoying the Aussie commentary, mate! It's very much the Aussie spirit, and a whole lotta fun.
Bruce is a national treasure.
I can see why these are some amazing commentators. Also amazing players too!
@@clairash2004 we all have our feelings differently towards things and I can respect that
@@clairash2004 How can you not love him he's "special"! (Just to be clear, that's a very mediocre joke about his catchphrase)
I'll add "Dennis Cometti" champagne football , centimetre perfect!!!!
24:18 i was there when Ballantyne did that the crowd was electrifying
I missed the first clip! the commentator was Sandy Roberts, so this took place in the early 1990s. What was going on with the pig was that Tony Lockett was a huge force playing at full forward for St. Kilda, and then at Sydney. He wore #4 for both clubs. He has the record for the most goals ever kicked in the AFL, at 1390. He broke that record in 1999, which that record stood for 62 years, and will probably remain unbeaten. people thought of him as overweight (he was 6'2" and 260lbs), which that and his accuracy for goal earned him the nickname "Plugger". So what was written on the pig was Lockett's number, and "The Real Plugger!"
Someone had fun that day.
i know Im pretty randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to watch new series online ?
@Emmitt Kyrie meh try flixportal. just search on google for it :P -darwin
@Darwin Ellis thanks, signed up and it seems to work :) I really appreciate it !
HAHA awesome reaction bro. at 11:27 the commentator (Brian Taylor) drops the F bomb. "Boyd's kicked a goal! Boyd's kicked a goal from inside the centre square! FUCKKK!"
These are mostly TV commentators but one of the most iconic commentator was Rex Hunt on 3AW radio.
Bleeding Red and Black - Go Bombers❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤
Look up Dennis Cometti...
He was the best commentator of all time...
Others would be Rex Hunt and Ted Whitten, but they were radio commentators
The pig has Tony Locketts nickname ( Plugger ) and number ( 4 ) painted on it . Tony was playing for St. Kilda at the time . One of the most memorable moments ever .
And ironically, a few years later, he signed for Sydney and broke the all time career goalkicking record. It wouldn't have happened if he'd stayed at St Kilda. He was particularly unhappy with the fish bowl (famous) lifestyle.
The ruckwork for the Nick Davis goal was perfect.
When footy was free, no one had phones or Ipads, kids ran outside every arvo for play down in the park, or played in the street, not many cars then. Kicking balls around and over the telegraph wires was normal.
Your love for the commentators, particularly Anthony Hudson makes me smile. They are all national treasures in my book.
Huddos the best. That call of Nick Davis with him being a geelong fan is just amazing. You can feel the pain in his voice, yet the call is stuff of legend.
10:45 Outside the 50 metre circle line! In. Grand final!
Low key missed BT yelling out 'FUCK' during the center square goal kick lol. Dropped the F bomb live on Air, head commentator on channel 9 while half the country is watching on TV🤣🤣
I miss Bruce and Dennis commentating.... BT is awful IMO, especially when he comments of Collingwood, such crazy bias
You should see the Malcolm Blight kick after the siren from even further than the Boyd kick.
That's the best AFL reaction video I've watched, shows so many aspects of the sport and a lot of great plays and special moments. Some great commentary too. Thanks for making it.
Thank you for respect to the commentator
Sandy Roberts, Bruce Macellvaney and ex Collingwood player now commentator Brian Taylor
Jumping to take a ‘Mark’ is also called a ‘Speccy’ meaning spectacular mark..
4:43 "That's worth a replay." As a Swans fan, I fully endorse this. Watch as many times as you like.
10:10 "I actually want to see that again." Nope, I take that back, things from the past should never be seen again.
22:04 "I could watch that over and over." You're killing me...
25:45 "Do that again." That's more like it.
BT dropping the "F" Bomb! 😂😂😂 Classic Bristler commentary! 😂
The pig had the number 4 and plugger it was a dig at the all-time highest goal kicker Tony Locket aka plugger
Fair dinkum unbelivable afl 😂😂❤😂😂❤😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤😂❤
Worth check out Rex Hunt commentry highlights. Might struggle with the terminology but funny in any language
When the game gets close and exciting, so do the commentators!
Cometti was always my favourite. BT and Bruce annoy me (to be fair, it's a select few commentators that don't). Excitable, sure, but often prematurely - heard both of them use the line "Looks beautiful off the boot" on kicks that have ended up out on the full.
Great reaction, mate. You got the Goal of the Millenium, Tom Boyd's boomer from inside the centre square 2016. "Tom Boyd's long kick, how will it bounce ? and the Western Suburbs erupt"
I spelt Anthony Hudson, Antony. That was a spelling error. My bad.
Just call him "Huddo" anyway.
Brian Taylor is called "the bristle", because of his moustache.
"BOYDS KICKED A GOAL! FROM INSIDE THE CENTRE...FUCK" Best ever and the other commentators piss themselves laughing, not sure if they got fined for that. But a great bit of commentary and an awesome match to get the dogs the flag
The pig has PLUGA which is named after a player nicknamed PLUGGER
Denis Cometti is the GOAT
Where's Cometti??
Great viewing
lol crispy! youre something else!
4:00 Won the game with only seconds left! Finals playoff!
Go Geelong
im a afl player
Afl.No.1 game in australia rugby league shit game aussie rules no.1 😂😂❤😂😂❤❤😂😂😂❤😂😂
Not a fan of the modern day AFL but the commentators cannot be beat, that's for sure.
Do you guys know that we also have a WOMENS Series for ozzie rules?
70 yard kicks are not unusual in AFL.......AND with accuracy
60metre kicks are not unusual in AFL.
You should react to Sidebottom highlights 250. It’s his 250th game coming up on the weekend.
@@PureBrutality awesome. When you watch/react to it notice how good he his kicking on both sides (left or right foot)
I can tell you right now that as an AFL fan for the past 27 years, I haven't seen pictures of all of the commentators. From the voices, I know you have:
Bruce McAvaney (retired from commentating on footy, one of the best commentators they had.. YESSSSS!!!!!)
Dennis Commetti (retired, had some of the best intellectual one-liners you'll ever hear. He was like a librarian!)
Anthony Hudson (He's a huge Geelong fan. Funnily enough he was commentating on all of the matches in this clip that Geelong LOST. "The miracle on grass! Nick Davis! 13! 13!)
Brian "BT" Taylor (this guy is hilarious.. He has highlights of his own as a player and commentator! The Package! They've gone bananas at the 'G!). Just wait until he gets on his "Orazio Fantasia!" kick. You'll know what I mean.
Dwayne Russell (
Tim Lane (The Longest premiership drought in football history is over!!)
Hamish McLachlan
Back when we only had the 1-hour highlights show in the US, they had someone like Rex Hunt hosting the show, but they never got shots of the commentators because since it was a highlights show with a "match of the round", they always picked up the action mid-game. But you just knew the voices, and that was all that mattered.
I bet if you searched for any of those announcers on UA-cam you'll find a good set of highlights of their commentary, especially BT. Good fun stuff!
@@PureBrutality The guy you really liked and said was born to be a commentator was Anthony Hudson. Hes one of the best among the names that athlonen mentioned.
@@davehocking4091 man he's awesome they all are but I love his delivery of comments on the game
@@PureBrutality Youre spot on mate.
One of the other things is theres a couple of radio commentary bits in this video.
The radio guys tend to go a bit more 'nuts' becuase its allowed/encouraged by their audience.
brian taylor for example is funny on tv but he goes next level when he's on radio.
@@davehocking4091 oh heck yeah man they def hype up the game even more make it even more awesome then it already is!!
stop pausing it
That was one of the most frustrating things I've watched
My best memory of a commentator is: "He snuck up on him like a librarian." And, I'm a librarian.
