Ok, so from what I understand, Jedi are recruited at a young age. Would the 50 year old tiny Yoda thing at the end of the 1st episode of Mandalorian be recruited before 50 years old?
Even the Jedi Order was still around and still using that policy, they probably wouldn't wait much longer before recruiting such a child. The average human age for the Jedi to recruit, seemed to be around 3-4 to around 7-8. The "Baby Yoda" seems to be the equivalent of a toddler, so probably close to that relative age.
At this point I only trust Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau with Star Wars. And that guy who made Rogue One. They together hold the Mantle of Responsibility.
Dave Filoni should have been placed in charge instead of Kathleen Kennedy. Lucas picking her was the worst mistake he's made in Star Wars ever since the holiday special.
There's a lot of similarity between the back stories of the Mandalorians, and the Sith. Sith was originally a Race, before they got wiped out (Okay, for using the Dark Side, and tryiing to enslave the Galaxy) so they started taking promising children as apprentice from other races, until they started The Rule of 2: (Only 1 Master, and 1 Apprentice, at any given time. So, they don;t get wiped out, again.)
That answer I think will vary depending on whether you follow Disney lore or the EU lore. But I believe if I remember right in the EU you could become a mandalorian by simply being born and raised mandalorian obviously or being adopted into a mandalorian clan and adopting the culture, life style and a shit ton of training and trials. I think it's somewhat similar though for Disney lore as well though I think it varies a bit. Also during the old republic the Mandalorians did in fact have ranks in their military this can be shown in the Kotor game series.
8:33 i think the right word for that would be, honorable. Not just cold blooded killers, but having a code that dictates their live and work makes them have honor, somethong the Deathwatch didn't had.
The mandalorians are like a combination between the early colonists of North America, most of them respected each other and they would usually help each other if they needed it and the colonies south of what is now Canada all fought beside each other during times of war
The same way Jango fett became a Mandalorian. He was adopted in. That’s right Jango is a Mandalorian. A peaceful faction of the mandolorian world ( Who exiled honor bound armor wearing ones) disowned Jango verbally you obi wan. But they disowned ALL armored mandalorians. I think it’s obvious favreau is making jango a mandalorian officially.
I would say we dont REALLY know what they mean by foundlings beyond the rescue-adoption. I mean are they just ANY youngling brought under their protection? Or are they younglings which are exclusively rescued from Mandalorian worlds/outposts/etc? Perhaps all from the above? And which category would our protagonist fall into?
Give RJ a break. Whether you enjoyed TLJ is your own opinion but I think he just wanted to take a new look at the existing material and a lot of which was heavily implied in the prequels - specifically around the failings of the Jedi Order this channel has covered well before. Otherwise another good video
The smith in Mandalorian, says that the beskar ingots will support many new foundlings... i want know; do Foundlings receive beskar helmets? or do they get regular helmets and the ingots support them by like buying food and other necessities?
Now that I ponder...if it took 18 ingots to make all of his armor minus one pauldron, then 2 ingots are definitely not going to cover multiple helmets... I guess thanks for helping me figure out the answer to my question..😬
I think foundling refers to them founding a new mandalorian society or foundation. It may be that they've had to change and shift their society to adapt to the realities of war and loss.
Can someone explain the carbonite freezing? I thought like they needed a giant pit/machine like with han solo in empire. Im super confused about this actually
Alex Maurice I believe the big chamber is safer and more controlled, but the one The Mandalorian used is portable and more dangerous. That makes the most sense to me
The carbon freezing chamber on Cloud City was an industrial facility, meant to be used to freeze volatile gases for shipping. It was not designed to freeze living beings safely, which is why Vader wanted to test it to make sure it wouldn't kill someone put in it. However, using carbonite to freeze individuals and place them in hibernation is something that had been going on for a long time before that. It was considered an unpleasant, uncomfortable experience, but not dangerous...provided you were using carbon freezing technology that was calibrated for that purpose. As opposed, to using a piece of industrial machinery.

I am not concerned about Dave. He is the person, IMO, that should’ve been named as the President and CEO of Lucasfilm. He has been next to George almost his entire career , and if someone was going to take over StarWars moving forward, there is no better person than Dave. How the Mandalorian is being received, should be proof of that. Call me crazy, if this continues he may replace the current “overseer” of everything StarWars. Bottom line, Dave is simply great at telling “Star wars “ stories, the Clones Wars shouldn’t be disregarded because it’s “animation”. Good stories, or just stories told we’ll translate to any medium.
This answers a lot of my death watch questions. So they were essentially the black sheep or the gangstas of the Mandolorian factions for a while. Interesting that Dyn Jarin was raised by them. Either there values changed or he was raised with values more similar to the OG mandolorians. I couldn’t see him going around mindlessly killing people or lacing spices with drugs or trafficking slaves He seems pretty honorable.
You don't just *become* a Mandalorian, you have to be _born_ as one. Foundling just means he's an orphan without a House/Family Clan, not that he wasn't born a Mandalorian. The tradition of accepting worthy members of other species into Mandalorian culture died out when the originals went extinct. Every Mandalorian in modern times is part of a distinct human-like species born either on Mandalore or it's moon. It's kind of like what happened to the Sith only the reverse. If you think I'm wrong then you can kindly explain how and why there are no alien Mandalorians in modern times.

You know, you're the first UA-camr I've seen so far who has the same theory as me about Foundlings and what's happening in the flashback. Everyone else I've seen so far assumes that the droids are attacking Mandalore or a Mandalorian family, rather than Mando being an orphan who was adopted into the culture.
Educated guess on what Mandalorian Iron actually is: Steel.
However, structure the Iron in the shape & form that is similar to the Carbon in Diamonds and . . . no wonder its resistant to Lightsabers, especially to the Kyber Crystals & such.
I wish there was a star wars game where we played as a sith or a Stormtrooper or maybe even a isb agent like at the fall of the empire it's cool seeing what most empire troopers did towards the end of the empire and the months after it
Star Wars fans: Ahsoka will be back right?
Dave Filoni: I don’t know.
(Give him some time. I’m sure he’s coming up with Ahsoka’s story that will both end her arc perfectly and satisfy every fans. Because I want to know what happened to her after the Battle of Endor.)
Ashoka should stay in animation. Live action just feels wrong for her
@@deadshot5007 They made Amy Allen look so accurate to a Twi-lek (Aayla Secura) in ROTS so I don't know how well they also mess up Ashoka if they bring her to Live Action.
There is a ton of spaghetti western vibe in the show and I live it, Mando even feels like a throwback to A Fist Full Of Dollars where Eastwoods Man With No Name is called Manco by the other characters.
"wear the armour, follow the code and you are mandalorian"
Wear your armor, raise your childeren as Mandalorian, take care of your family, speak Mando'a, and last but not least, awnser to the call of Mand'alor.
I love the Mandalorian, Disney finally did something right.
The fact that Star Wars nerds are behind the creation of this series is great. I don't think Dave filoni will be directing all the episodes.
@@BlargeMan I concur
JJ was not a "fan" just casual fan at best. I heard him say as much in a post ep7 interview. He saw the OT as a kid and that was that.
The mandalorians are like a combination between the early colonists of North America, most of them respected each other and they would usually help each other if they needed it and the colonies south of what is now Canada all fought beside each other during times of war
Maybe.
When was our hero adopted by the mandlorians.
how do we know he isn't a real mandalorian
Foundling
@@CdnFN1 yeah I was confused a little when he said that, i'm new to the star wars and Mandalorian lore but i'm learning lol
Based on feelings towards droids I’m thinking clone war
@@CdnFN1 ahh that makes total sense. i'm sure they'll explain more about that as the show progresses
So the Mandolorians are like individualistic Spartans.
King Cobra Mandalorians literally are Spartans in space.
Kind of a mix of Spartans, Vikings, and Mongols all wrapped up into one dysfunctional pile.
Can you do a video about what is a victory child. I sew pictures of a new Star Wars timeline and they were mentioned being after the battle of Endor.
1:10 Nice Republic Commando reference, Alan. Gotta love them Nulls, am I right?
The smith in Mandalorian, says that the beskar ingots will support many new foundlings... i want know; do Foundlings receive beskar helmets? or do they get regular helmets and the ingots support them by like buying food and other necessities?
Now that I ponder...if it took 18 ingots to make all of his armor minus one pauldron, then 2 ingots are definitely not going to cover multiple helmets...
I guess thanks for helping me figure out the answer to my question..😬
Man, this video should be 2 mins long max! I just wanted to know how you become a mandalorian! Anyway, keep up the good work
I think foundling refers to them founding a new mandalorian society or foundation. It may be that they've had to change and shift their society to adapt to the realities of war and loss.
Allen when are you going to join the Mandalorian Mercs? Come on bro! Convert!
"For _Mandalore!"_
Thank you and may the force be with you and this is the way
Can someone explain the carbonite freezing?
Mandalorians are beautiful characters
Are you going to be uploading a play through of fallen order? I don't plan on buying an ea game at full price but would live to see it through your eyes
take a shot everytime he says mandalorian
Jango is a true mandalorian, NOW CHANT VODE AN WITH ME!

Yeah. I know I butchered the spelling.
Great artistry beautiful concept
Evidently, the Clone Wars TV series is still considered canon. So, that was a relief when I found out.
It's a person that you fondle everytime
Filoni and Favreau are both awesome making new content but dipping into expanded universe for material. You don't see that with the movies.
Hey just wondering is british ben still on this channel? I haven't been keeping up, and I haven't seen him recently in any videos I've watched
He still does Star Trek videos on our second channel generation films
@@GenerationTech ok, thank you Generation Tech!
A True mandalorian fights for Mand'alor and honor. Not for money.
that part of his glove armor he is warring in the show looks like a clone commando piece.
Also the pauldron that replaces with the forged beskar one, they resemble those used by Scarif shoretroopers in Rogue One.
Greatly appreciated thanks for the upload
Love binging these vids, wish I was a foundling tbh because man school is boring
School teaches you how to get through boring stuff, which is a good life lesson.
@@GenerationTech but mando training teaches you how to get through everything. Better life lesson. (To make the training shorter for you aruetiise: blast everything in your way. Then proceed doing what you wanted to do before. Easy.)
Mandalorian is astonishing
Take a shot every time he says Mandolorian
Its awesome. The Mandalorian. Just watched episode 4
Thats like asking, how does one become an Earthling?

Second: Make 0% fxxxing connections with the Force.
Third: Learn to use every type of firearm to protect yourself with good education.

Loving this content, keep up the great work Alan!
The Mandalorian's blaster pistol is a 1894 Bergmann number one, a real gun.
So is the Mandalorian in the show an actual Mandalorian and born on Mandalore?
Yes
I doubt he was born on Mandalore
But he seems to be a Mandalorian in the truest sense!
(killing somebody who is helpless, like a baby, just not make you look stronger as a Mandalorian)
He seems to be a Foundling, an orphan that was adopted into and raised by Mandalorians.
He doesn't like droids because hatred of them is an ancient part of Mandalorian culture. They acquired it when they fought an extremely brutal war against a "race" of droids.
