Thom's voice has reached a very unique timbre. A lot of aging singers just lose their original voice and become husks of what they used to be, Thom has created a new colour with his voice.
Well said
This video is even more devastering than the Daydreaming video
His voice has become more fragile with Moon Shaped Pool and going forward. Maybe age but it works so well with his soundtrack work and The Smile songs. I couldn’t believe it was over 5 minutes. It’s a musical illusion as it ebb and flows like a burbling creek. The Smile songs grew on me. King of Limbs which many didn’t like also grew on me and became one of my favorites. An interesting teaser for sure with 30 years behind his belt. Selfishly, I still want another Radiohead album regardless. I’ve thought of them always as album artists which has become a lost art, or maybe I got lost along the way.
Definitely want another Radiohead as well. Idk how realistic it is though
But they could make like 5 more who knows
Also as a young composer this song blew my mind. Especially the strings. This is why I love the ThomYorkeverse
String arrangement by Thoms Radiohead and the Smile bandmate Jonny Greenwood. Which you likely know and he probably says in the video. I’m only just starting watching this reaction but I still felt like responding to a comment. So happy people are reacting to this
@@ThommyUnderhill Jonny Greenwood is a genius composer of strings stuff. His work on There Will Be Blood is masterful
People focus a lot on the voice, but the guitar is beautiful and complex. You have very unique chord structures and transitions... and just wandering...
I love how thom is not trying to use his old voice but always developing a new one, first change is bends to okC with him getting comfortable with his tembre, then in 2003 getting at new limits with crackly falsetto flawlessly flowing into the powerful scream all perfectly in pitch then getting smother in 2007-2011 and then getting even more crackly about his singing after 2017… (in spite of this you can hear he still hits almost all of those judging by the 2017 Berkeley performances) and now mixing it all together (judging by the Los Angeles 2022 perf)
Thanks for a great video
Wall of ice/eyes is an old song that's been kicking around since at least 2009. So many smile songs are old unfinished Radiohead tracks. I'm here for it...
ohh realy?
Desperately waiting for Cut a hole
Did I seriously hear you say you haven’t listened to their first album? Wtf?!?
yeah I'm a pretty busy guy (I just procrastinate)
I❤The Smile.
Wall of ice
:D
Merci Tanguy!
As-tu une nouvelle composition à nous partager bientôt?
De rien ! Pas sûr pour de vraies nouvelles choses, mais des choses plus anciennes jusqu'ici inédites ça oui :)

What's up!
