The opening unfolded gently, with warm tone and neatly-managed articulation, capturing the lyrical style. The counterpoints were well-defined, in a Fluent and accurate performance which was rhythmic and well-shaped,
and aware of changing textures, with carefully-graded dynamic and tonal colour. The fugal entries were well-defined throughout, and consistently phrased, with precise part-playing and well-managed voicing, in a poised
performance.

Piece 2 (out of 22) : Joplin - The Cascades
The playing was precise and rhythmic from the start, in a fluent, accurate and neatly co-ordinated account. Tone and balance were effectively managed, though dynamic colour a little restricted in the first sections. The LH
was unvaried in articulation, but the momentum of the music was well-maintained throughout, in a mostly stylish performance.

Piece 3 (out of 22): Beach - Scottish Legend
The performance was carefully paced, with thoughtfully-shaped phrases, and attention to detail, though the melodic line was initially not always clearly voiced, and the pedalling tended to cloud the harmonic changes.
The major-key section was confidently played and strongly characterised and contrasted, and the chording well co-ordinated throughout, though pedalling continued to cloud the sonority, in an otherwise expressive performance.

Scales and arpeggios were well-known, Fluent and accurate, with even tone and clear dynamics and articulations, though 3rds were not wholly legato.
