- A look through the contents of these kits. With the new Revell kit, which is half the price of these I though you guys might be interested to see whats in Trumpeters boxes.

Have to admire Trumpeter for their boldness in what they produce. First came across their kits in Hong Kong in 2001 and wow what they've done since is incredible, things I never thought I'd ever see. Great review Nigel.
Fascinating box review.
I think the word you are searching for is "elevons", flaperons are wing mounted and canards are up front ahead of the wing as per the Typhoon (which being a Prestonian , I still call an EAP)
Cool kit review. Thanks for sharing.
Good review Nigel, although I’m not into jet fighters, to me they all look the same, like going to buy a new television and you see a wall of them. They all look the same!
It looks like Trumpeter did a half decent job on the moulds, and I’ll happily follow an ex Rolls Royce engineer into a hornets nest 😊
Excellent review. I’m trying to figure out whether to get the E or F. Tough choice!
Wow really shocked when you said the price! £30 ish looking on eBay average £135 I’m doing the 1/48 version, you have to coax and ease and persuade it to quite an extent but it’s a really shaping up into a great looking kit. Really detailed and informative review Nigel as always thanks for posting. My big issue is do I get this or a Tamiya Enterprise aircraft carrier….
Love the Flory references ~ 😂
Great review! Does the kit come with any LAU-127 launch rails? (They’re used for double AIM 120 or AIM 9)
The horizontal stabilizers are called elevons
Marc Minter or Tailerons
try hard to match Tamiya, parts with box and the same font. Very cool. Was looking to get the Revell one but this seems to be the one.
Thanks for this, impressive kits in the box aren't they? Despite the usual Trumpeter surprises....Not seeing great things online about the Revell kitset so far I'm afraid to say, despite the lower price, It looks like it may have been rushed a bit to market? Anyway, look forward to your review if you decide to buy it [the Revell].
i guess it's quite off topic but do anybody know a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Malachi Seth i dunno I use Flixportal. You can find it if you google :D -rohan
@Rohan Crew thank you, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) Appreciate it!
@Malachi Seth Happy to help =)
I'd like to see the revell but if I'm fair just to see it build. Even the revell hornet looks ok to me I'm a ww1 ww2 plane nut
Hello I wonder if you can advise me on if there is a eduard upgrade for the trumpeter f18F 1/32 .. i see there is one for the E variant but cant find anything else..
Yeah, strange innit..?? They never did anything for the F or G AFAIK??
@@NigelsModellingBench old school plasticard and lead it is then lol
Cheers.. you build any of your f18s or plan to soon
@@carlwhitfield5463 True, It'll look great. The biggest issue is the fact theres no cockpit sidewalls so you can see into the strakes.
Doubt I'll be building any soon?
Are there any companies that do aftermarket stuff for these two planes. Just wanting PE parts for the cockpit but eduard doesnt have any anymore
Check scalemates.com.
Both stunning kits indeed, maybe you don't or won't need to get the revell kit nigel?,it's felix the cat with the bomb on the Tomcatters version, not mickey mouse btw, lol, cheers
Thanks Malcolm for the compliments.. Felix the cat or Mickey Mouse?? My age, myn eyes, no difference lol. Thanks for putting me right!!
Ha ha,cheers
Build!,build!build!🤔
Did my comment offend or something or is those silly Algorithms again?
My explanation about the ECS vents and the targeting pod has disappeared.
I haven't deleted any comments that aren't offensive so I guess You Tube has taken it down? This happens a lot?
@@NigelsModellingBench All good, I didn't think I'd written anything offensive, it was just offering up some information on some of the parts of the Super Hornet you weren't sure about. Just helpful info that's all.
@@Zone5Aviation I always appreciate those kind of comments, so long as they are from someone who knows what they're talking about. You obviously fit into that category.
@@NigelsModellingBench Appreciate the feedback. I'm a former aircraft technician so I understand airframes and operating systems and naturally I'm an aviation nut and scale modeller. I've followed and researched the Super Hornet right from the beginning as it was going through flight trials when I was in high school. As a scale modeller, obviously I'm more concerned with external differences between one version and another. So much like the F-14 Tomcat between the A, B and D models, the Super Hornet E (single seat) and F (Twin seat) versions go by Block number. Feel free to check out my Zone 5 Aviation facebook page (link on my channel page). I don't have a lot of content just now on my channel as I recently pulled a lot of old stuff down but all my previous builds are on the Facebook page.
