I was able to fly from Florida to see them in New York. They are insanely talented and I hope I get the opportunity to see them again. Thanks for highlighting them.
And, a few years after this song was released (and VOB had played in Europe), Indonesia's Minister of Education, Nadiem Makarim, mentioned them in an interview, - "I'm very proud of this VOB, because they are young people who will bring Indonesia's name to the world stage."
I agree that we need to support these badass women.🤘🔥🤘 I also missed this song as well as a couple of others, but especially love that you shared the lyrics in English. I also remember hearing about many bad challenges in their early years and admire thier grit and bravery. Really enjoyed your reaction, Thank you👍 🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
I could hardly imagine that the three of them were able to create Amazing Awesome Music and Lyrics.... oohhhh I can't say anymore.... How the three of them can make music, the lyrics are really good oooh woouuw VOB
Hello again Harb and thanks for more VOB! This song was released on National Education Day (HARDIKNAS) in Indonesia. HARDIKNAS was named after Ki Hajar Dewantara, a pioneer figure in Indonesian education, who fought for access to education for ALL Indonesians, not just a priviliged few that were chosen by the Dutch colonialists. His view of the ideal teacher was this: Be a model when leading, give inspiration when alongside, and give encouragement from behind. He was imprisoned by the Dutch for his activism, but he lived to see Indonesian independence.
They are the only band from generation Z that I follow. They are very impressive, I love this band. and they always write songs that are closely related to criticism. They are brave
Tks 4 the reaction, VOB, they have tour in UERO France n Wacken in Germany, n also USA Tour in 9 city, 4 next pls check VOB chanel " Not Publick Property" Looking 4 ward from u bro, big love from Indonesia n all the best ....
And Marsya (singer/guitarist) has mentioned in past interviews that she would like to open a school one day, but a special school, with teaching based on having the learners/students actively involved in the process, rather than just passively receiving information chosen for them (Constructivism, bringing out what is already inside).
Awesome. Your opinion breakdown, I thought was exactly what V.O.B girls went through in their music journey from the beginning... Suggestions next V.O.B Original song breakdown is THE OTHER SIDE OF MATELISM. The lyrics includes as what you said just now. Related.
Good day Sir. Well done talk after. Saw the France concert video couple years ago and quite frankly was shocked. But in a good way. Bottom line here is these girls kick ass! 👍
There are a lot of bad videos of Mighty Island on youtube. The best one I've found for sound and video quality is @zonaulin's (search youtube for: @zonaulin voice of baceprot mighty island). If anybody knows of a better version, please reply here. (I've been listening to Mighty Island again and again and again. I love it so much)
VOB's lyrics are deep, philosophical, mystical, sociopolitical, and complex... I remember back in the day when Eddie Van Halen grew frustrated with some of the sophomoric, Jeff Spicoli-esque lyrics of David Lee Roth, which were not up to par with the musicianship of VH... With VOB, their lyrical sophistication match their musical talent... Btw, your closing advice "Don't be a d***", couldn't be more relevant. Especially with likes of John Kirby, Mike Ezell, Brian Mast, Andrew Ogle, Tim Walberg, Tom Cotton, and Lindsey Graham around...
