Okay - A. this is a magic trick not mentalism and B. let's assume you wanted to fix this and make it a half-decent mentalism effect instead of trashing it and starting over. The goals are: 1. Turn this into a display of mentalism where you're influencing the audience instead of showing that you can have the correct slip of paper leap into your hand as you fish around for it. 2. Have a reasonable explanation for why the slip of paper goes into the envelope. 3. Have a reveal that actually feels impressive. First thing to realize is that, since you're forcing the "playing cards" answer, you can only reasonably do this if you have an audience of 20+ people and have all of them write down a guess. If you do it with less, then they can talk to each other and figure out that none of them wrote "playing cards". So, assuming you have enough guesses for this to make sense.... you gather all of the pieces of paper, and pull a few out. You say something like "there are a lot of different guesses in here but I was dropping some subtle hints that some of you will have picked up on. It doesn't work on everyone but I'm confident at least a few of you got the right answer". You look at some of the guesses, make a joke about someone drawing a dildo, and then, looking at one of the slips, say "ah, there it is -- I see a few of you picked up on the suggestion..... thank god, or this would have been shit". (influencing the audience) Shuffle that slip up with a handful of others -- let's say 9 -- and get a volunteer from the audience. Tell them that one of the slips of paper has the correct guess on it and the others are wrong. They have a 1/10 chance of selecting the correct slip of paper. You're going to try to influence what they select without them realizing you're doing it .....and they're going to pick the correct one. (influencing the audience again) Have them take a deep breath / look you in the eye for a couple of silent moments / touch them meaningfully on the shoulder and then tell them to look down and point at the first slip of paper that feels right to them. Have them put it in the envelope and set it aside. (the envelope now makes sense - yay) From here you can have them read some of the other slips of paper -- this shows that all of the others were different and you didn't just put a bunch of duplicate guesses out. You can either read out all 9 or stop at only 5 and ask if they want to change their mind and try for another one. If they say yes, take the original slip out of the envelope, shuffle, and repeat the selection. If they say they don't want to change their mind, quickly show that the other slips have different guesses on them and walk over to the box. Walking over to the box is where you build up the anticipation -- if you're a comedy act, plead with them to change their minds and try again. If you're serious, this is the climax of a special, intimate moment. Have them open the box and describe what they see. Hopefully you put something in it more entertaining than a pack of cards but.... whatever it is will probably get a laugh from the audience just because you've now spent 10 minutes having everyone in the room do their best to guess what's inside and.... whatever it is is going to be underwhelming. Have the volunteer pull out the "cards" and show it to everyone. Then point back to the envelope. Remind the volunteer that everyone wrote down a guess on a slip of paper -- of all of those guesses you found one that was right and put it with a bunch of wrong ones. Out of all of those wrong guesses, they freely selected one and put it in the envelope. Maybe they changed their mind or maybe they stuck to it but they made one choice out of all of those options and that is what's inside the envelope. If your rigged envelope is good, you can have them open it. If it's not, open it for them really wide and have them pull out the slip of paper - then throw the envelope away. Have them read what it says.
Then it would be, the spectator can read the magicians mind and obtain the paper that has the correct object. The magician writes another object and mixes the papers or makes the spectator to mix. So we say everybody has psychic abilities, but society does not let us to explore this. The magician lets the spectator to take out several papers and say: Think: "This is not the object." To practice. Lets say like 4 times other funny objects are read. The last paper which is the object...you show the prediction. We practiced with the no, now with the yes...the last paper you picked....reveal the object, for this, you need a big audience, and take several papers but do not say the number of papers inside. Instead of an envelope you can also use a magic bag to hide the correct answer.
Or another way is to give a hint. Depending on the ocassion, you can hint: object is related to school, or to kitchen, or a tool. So if someone guesses it, they would say it was me! You improve the probability of guessing, but have to choose a less common object, for example in kitchen people might write, spoon, fork, plate, teacup. You can choose cheese shredder, napkins, or matches to lighten a gas stove. See my other comment.
Alternatively, skip having people write down guesses and just start with having a selection of wrong slips of paper with one correct slip. Have an audience member select one of the slips, put it in the envelope, open the box, and then have them open the envelope to see they selected the correct one.
Wow epic mind reading besides as just a magic trick in general but for Halloween would be a great one to do that especially that old style box with the lid and jazzing it up in to like a witch magic trick or something overall I absolutely love this mentalism magic trick
Wait this is HORRIBLE, There will be no reaction from the spectator who supposedly wrote that, whiich would be natral, and as soon as the others see there's NO reaction they are going to ask ,Who wrote that and then crickets and a vanishing crowd
I’ve been performing mentalism for over 10 years, and This is too small of an effect to do with a small amount of spectators. Like others are saying, everyone will want to know who got it right. That’s similar to doing a 5 way Force for a crowd of 5 spectators.
Not a bad trick. But I agree with some of the comments here. Envelope needs to be shown empty...covering the trap door with your hand while you display it. Also, the audience will want to know who wrote it. The only option would be to go right into another trick so the audience's attention is off that trick and focused on the next one. The only other out would be to use a "confederate" have one of the spectator's claim to have written those words.
It's got potential, but how do you keep your audience from consulting with one another about who put that paper in the box and discovering that (probably) none of them did?
If you have 10-15 people write down an object - nobody is going to go around and ask what each of them wrote, plus they will not remember everyone who wrote something down
You can't ask this guy things like that, he doesn't have a clue, he is a rank amateur, a fraud. It's plain to see that he has never performed a trick (other than maybe to a few school pals) in his life.
Please explain WHAT para-normal ability you are presenting here, i see nothing other than a demonstration of blind luck and/or coincidence. You used the word PREDICTION which is absurd, and whose mind have you read? This is for 10 year olds.
NOT a mentalism trick. You're not really "reading minds" here. More of a prediction trick (you predicted that the chosen paper among the others has "playing card" written on them) or a production trick (you magically produced the chosen item on the paper, to materialize inside the box). Get your genre right, mate.
Cool ! Like it! Also you could use a billets switch box,you can predict, world , animals, and dollar bill series number.and is easy to make.

you should use a more generic item then
I think its important to show the envelope empty. Lots of ways you can play on this effect 🎉

I love your videos ❤️❤️
The espectators think why is necesary to put the papers in a envelope...
Nicely done!

If you have 10-15 people write down an object - nobody is going to go around and ask what each of them wrote, plus they will not remember everyone who wrote something down
plus if you picked them at random spots far apart from each other they'll have no choice than to just enjoy the awesomeness of the show
are cards really good for this? idk if this is very impressive
As said in the video, choose any object you want that fits inside the box you have. All I had was a deck of cards.
ah, im sorry, didn't hear it.
nice
Can you reveal the secret behind 'THIS IS HEAVY' by jay mattioli

Ya. Not the best handling performance of this effect
new sub boii tnx!

it doesn't matter it doesn't matter it doesn't matter - if it doesn't matter, then who gives a shit who gives a shit who gives a shit
