I haven’t done any breathing exercises but what I did was I always tried to read the long ayaat in one breath and now eventually my breath has gotten better and better so even within recitation of the Quran if you keep trying to read the long ayaat eventually you will improve. Also breathe out the nose this is something I didn’t know but has helped tremendously

However, for clarity's sake, it would be so helpful for many of us if you stayed focused on the actual topic (part 1 breath, part 2 where to stop, part 3?) and then made the extra references (i.e. additional excercises for breath work) after the clear full answer has been given.
