Though I like Crawford, when comparing his resume to Canelo's, it's pretty abysmal. The other issue I see for him in this fight, is being comfortable in moving around in 3 weight classes higher. It will affect his speed, and walking around weight is different from fighting weight. Canelo fought in the box with GGG 3 times and could take his shots, so what makes people think Crawford (at age 35) is going to do anything substantial to him at a higher weight he is not accustomed to?
Canelo should fight who ever will make him the most money.

Some fighters are just built for fighting in Heavier weight classes, Tyson for example was only 5’11” as a heavy weight and destroying guys 30lbs heavier and taller than him.
Roberto Duran Jumped up in Weight to Sugar Ray Leonard to beat him, but again you’re talking about a Legend, not everyone can do this. It’s to risky.
Plus you’re talking about a fight weight that Crawford never fought at before. It makes a huge difference and I don’t like it for Crawford. If he’s looking for a retirement payday, then have at it. My opinion, its to much of a weight jump for Crawford.

Crawford is in a much lighter weight division. So, gaining about 15 pounds just to qualify and fight Canelo is just being desperate for a paycheck. Canelo is strong and solid in his weight, and Crawford wouldn't have that amount of natural power by gaining weight. The last time we seen prime Canelo was against Plant. Those days are gone whether your a fan of Canelo, or just a fan of boxing period. Alot of Canelos hardcore fans think hes still top of his game and hes simply not. He is far less active in the ring and he doesnt move his head as much anymore. Hes there to get hit while he waits for openings while getting pressured. Canelo will not be able to to do that against another elite guy like Bud who is smarter and a better boxer, as well as his power carrying up the divisions. So far it hasnt shown to drop off. Its easily a 50/50 fight because of the unknowns of not knowing how Bud will look at 168.

Great fight at a catchweight only. Never fight Canelo at his comfortable weight. Both fighters must make sacrifices and meet at the middle. A fight at 154/160 lbs. This is a Mega, Mega fight! Everyone would buy that fight and should be a two fight deal.
As a Bud Fan, the ONLY thing he’s lacking is the experience at the Weight Class. But that’s a HUGE deal in Boxing. So idk.
