Guns N' Roses performing "Slither" live at Xcel Energy Center on 9-21-21 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Axl Rose embracing other music than isn't his own on stage. I'm just glad they settled their differences.
I like the comment that said Scott is no Axl and Axl is no Scott. Both unique but mad respect to them both honoring each other.
Did Scott really honour Axl though? Or did he sing a few GnR songs to respect his band member’s back catalogue?

if he would just give up on trying to hit high notes he would be so much better. like he still sounds great on all the lower stuff, but when he brings out the mickey mouse it distracts from the great parts. idk

The one song Axl must be hating is not a GNR production, he clearly loves it.
He still sings pretty damn good.
It's mostly in his lower register.. which is still great, his highs are really hit and miss now
I vote that they either take this off their line up, or have Duff sing it. The problem is, Axl is singing harmony, and he’s louder than Duff who’s singing the melody, during the chorus. I’ve loved GnR since the 80’s, and are my #1 rock band of all time. I love VR, but with Scott, though. Can’t wait to see these guys again, this summer!!!
Or just turn up Duff's mic and turn down Axl's over the chorus. I quite like the effect, but it's not Slither with the chorus as itbus, J grant you
Axl sounds a bit strange singing it, but Slash and Duff sound great playing it.

I agree. I feel that the members of GnR these days are great sports. They seem to have buried their big egos. I only wish Axl and Scott became friends before Scott died because I reckon modern Axl is all about burying hatchets.

It would song better if they changed the key the chorus is ok but the verses are too low for Axl, also don't quite know what's going on with the guitars volumes too soft

Sometimes I like to sit and wonder what it would have been like if 90s Guns N’ Roses continued on and recorded songs like Slither. I get that this is a Velvet Revolver song, a band which has their own history. But there’s nothing wrong about pondering an alternate reality.
They would have 20 albums n wed never hear most appetite destruction live. My 2bd fv band korn has too many albums
@@joelincolnlincoln6315 I'm not a fan of Korn (I don't dislike them, I'm just not into music that heavy). But as a fan, a big catalogue of music would mean more surprises at concerts right? I love Guns N' Roses, but I'm now tired of the same songs played at every concert.
@@OldAussieAds i have only seen axles solo guns and roses group love maybe 3 times. I just feel all the songs get diminished when the band has too many. For instance some songs korn can't even play live. So who the hell made the song then a computer programmer? Lol. I still listen to guns and roses 20 minutes a day not bored
@@joelincolnlincoln6315 I think I over did it back in the day. In the 90s, I would listen to all their albums on pretty regular rotation. And I've seen the band live many times over the years, including their hey day. Paradise City is a great song. But I don't feel I want to hear it anymore. Same with Sweet Child and a bunch of others. What I'd love would be to hear some of their rarities live - such as Dead Horses, Bad Apples, The Garden - basically the whole B side of UYI1.

Listening to the most recent Eddie Trunk podcast featuring Slash, Slash said it was Axl that brought up the idea of playing Slither.
That’s what I like about modern day Axl. He seems like such a more mellow dude. I don’t know if it’s older age, better meds or whatever. But whatever it is, it’s worked a treat. Axl has had a lot of shit put on him over the years (some fair, some not), but I think it’s time we all celebrated what an absolute legend he is.
To someone who accepts GnR 2022 musical wear and tear conditions, Slither brings back that excitement and nostalgia of songs that were only in appetite for destruction and a good number of use your illusion albums. Rock on guys!!!!
No way this would have fit Appetite for Destruction. It’s not catchy enough. Maybe it would have fit Use Your Illusions. And I say that with the upmost respect as I love the less catchy UYI stuff. Heck, one of my favourite UYI songs (Estranged) doesn’t even really have a chorus.

Axl should NOT sing this. Sorry but his vocals are awful on this song. However Love the fact that Slash and Duff are keeping such an incredible song alive. Perhaps someone else in the band sing it. Would love to see Duff take a stab at it.

Love Scott but you really can say he was at the top of his game towards the end. Dave Kushner said that even Scott had performances which were also off do to the difficulty of the song.

as a diehard VR / Scott fan i'm %100 positive on Axl singing in his own style. ofc original one was a masterpiece, Axl's touch is also veryyyyy satisfying to hear
