I was born in 1970 and grew up on Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow, Sugar Hill Gang, etc.......I did not hear any influence from Latin culture in the music.
He thinks that Puerto Ricans having proximity to black people/culture makes them co-creator, and it doesn't. Black people are in close proximity to sports (basketball, football, gymnastics, etc...) but we did not co-create those sports will simply are heavy participants in those sports
