Well, I was looking for something closest to the earliest version of The Unfortunate Rake to compare it to Appalachian songs that gave rise to cowboy songs that ultimately led to The Streets of Laredo and also compare it to St James Infirmary Blues, which popped up in US Gulf Coast ports around 1900 and then became a Jazz Standard. Not a lot of help here, but I liked watching y'all jam out.
I started searching for this song after the "Ballad of Buster Scruggs". Absolutely fantastic.
