Its a good thing he's only slightly crazy (Hollywood is completely at fault for this) and is most likely usually on drugs or super high on life

Second season definitely didn’t draw me in like the first on my first watch. I didn’t think the third was so bad and the nod to Rust and Marty’s work was interesting. Wish they’d leaned on that more though. Maybe get into the other church programs that were operating all along the coast they mentioned. Either way..he gets a pass from me..total lunatic or not. McConaughey is just an Austin-variety weirdo with funding. He's the kind of guy who starts talking to you outside of a Circle K here at 1am as though it was a continuation of a previous conversation, or that strikes up a conversation with you about weird dog breeds without preamble at a coffee shop. Invariably, psychedelics come up. He's not homeless, but he takes naps in bookstores. This one's just also an actor. He's alright. Sometimes those guys know oddly useful things. Met Mathew McConaughey, super cool dude. He introduced himself to me. He was touring a high school I was coaching at. Not only introduced himself, he was asking about the sport of wrestling, real curious the wrestling culture.
Travolta and Garth for sure have been warped by the fame. I think McConaughey is just McConaughey kind of like how Walken is Walken.

Bit of both, he's not as crazy as Travolta, but there's something underlying that you can tell he's been warped a bit. The laugh is a pretty good example. He laughs when he wants to, not when something is funny. And it's not in equal parts to how funny the joke is.
That's what happens when you get no real feedback over a long enough period of time. Your connection to reality is all out of whack. It's like when you go deaf, and you lose the ability to speak because you have no consistent feedback on how you sound. Famous people are kinda just deaf people.
McConaughey honestly not that bad, as if you didn't like him in Wolf of Wall Street. Hes obviously at least fairly self aware about how narcissistic the industry and people in general can be.

I agree. It came off a little cringe, but wasn't that bad. He said he was a little nervous about it, then came off a little awkward... y'know, like he was nervous... They gave him shit for saying he was nervous, like a veteran actor nervous in front of a camera, yeah right. He must be acting nervous. The problem is big celebs have teams creating their image. These people, as we know them are usually creations of a machine. When they do things like social media, especially if its their personal accounts, they show themselves and come off different than we are used to seeing. Even worse, they may try to present themselves like the image the machine created, without the machine, and it becomes what you see in this video with Garth Brooks and Matt McConaughey.
Honestly if they are doing social media because they want to, then who gives a shit let them be. If they are doing it to build a following, as a source of money or fame, then they really need to just let their PR teams handle it, because its still building off their established image. In McConaugheys case, his built image was a laid back, cool guy. If he wants to keep that image, he apparently cant be himself lmao, because apparently he is the awkward guy at heart.
Matthew sounds like a man who embarked on a journey and, most certainly dissolved the ego along the way. Now, he wants to let you in on it.

McConaughey is by far the most normal one of the bunch. By miles. Like you can actually decipher what the dude is trying to say, and it's coming from a fairly genuine and relatable place, he's just choosing really weird ways of wording it. That's an entirely different animal than these other psychopaths.

McConaughey's wasn't bad at all. He's saying that he's learning that social media works through interaction (dialog) not just a stream of content (monologue). He wants to share what's on his mind sincerely not just act something out for the views; he wants to post things that will spark your philosophical interest. I didn't really get the high eye vs. low eye part: perhaps its a reference that he wants to build a relationship with his audience in which they discuss real life (high eye) vs. mere commenting about pop culture and internet memes (low eye): in the sense that when you're responsive to life your gaze "stands tall," if I call it that, instead of looking down at your phone. But that's just my interpretation. Open up your minds a little, guys. Try to listen to people without your pre-conceived conclusions about them.
