    POW MUSIC, you should make a theory lesson about the albert king box of using standard tuning comparing it to the albert king box using his special tuning F6 because its the same albert king box SHAPE but the SCALE NOTES have been shifted and rearranged because of the special tuning albert king would tune his guitars. If you look there is about 5 different tunings he used which are very unusual tuning but only used the same albert king box SHAPE

    Very very good box, when you have a box like this, your not supposed to play how you are playing, but I know you are doing for new players so it’s completely understandable, I’m only about a year in, and this just opened the door to so many sounds I’ve been wanting to play, I just heard them all while you where just playing the box, can’t wait to get home

      Search for the 3 Kings of blues. You will find Albert King, BB King and Freddie King. The BB King box is 2 frets up from the house of blues. It has the 6th an 9th, giving it a sweeter sound.

      This looks more for the advanced beginners. I'm a 60 year old beginner. I should have stayed with this years ago back when I had my first guitar... a Les Paul. I love blues style. I also love the Pink Floyd style.

    • @PowMusic
      @PowMusic  6 років тому

      Hey Tim! That's great that you are getting into guitar now! "Now" is always the best time :D. This is a lesson late into the course after many much easier lessons. It starts off with just one or two notes to work with before getting into the bigger shapes. If you have any other questions, please let me know. All the best, Gary

    Nice. But this is way easier to understand and explain if you start from Pentatonic shape 2 instead of shape 1 as you do. Because the "house" shape is already part of shape 2.

    Great video, but I’m afraid, it’s not about knots here the notes are, I know that. It’s what to do with them that is the problem
    I can improvise oovef maj and minor blues, but they all sound the same.
    THAT is where talent comes in, some of us have it, some don’t. I’m in the latter category
    That’s again, great insight
