Solid comparison, and great reviews. I’d agree with JC having a slight edge. The stand does concern me too - on some of my Gemini200 stands, I actually superglued the components and then applied the screw while it was still drying. Messy, but a little more piece of mind it would stay together. My only problem with the A220 models are the shapes of the cockpit windows.

No manufacturer seems to get the CSeries cockpit windows size right ...

Exactly what has stopped me from purchasing any of them. I’ve flown on the A220 on Delta several times, and looking at the strange cockpit, it looks like a different plane almost.

One observation no one ever makes in these competitive reviews: are you buying the model just for display, where you will never be handling it, or do you want to be able to pick it up from time to time to look at it more closely? Want to pick up a 1:200 scale metal diecast a380 to critique the font size of the lettering? It really doesn’t matter how detailed and accurate a model is if you are looking at it from afar. Personally, I like to be able to pick up my models, and for that reason I prefer a plastic model over ones that are metal diecast. Of the plastic models, I think the newer Herpa models, like this one, are preferable.

Very cool models, I am surprised by the quality of the Herpa one, I didn't think it could be so good. The JC is of a high quality as well but I did not expect imprecisions such as the lines on the cockpit radome.
I think that, counting pros, and cons JC is very slightly better than Herpa

Sometimes models manufacturers share moulds with each other there is a possibility that both models have the same mould

Hi, how do you differentiate the jc wing box from other boxes like Phoenix and other models?

Apart from the fact that they mostly add their brand name to the box there are also often distinct differences in design.

JC Wings models are always made of metal
