Hi Webster! I like the begonia idea, thank you! I kid you not, I killed a gnat that was flying around while I was filming a video, and someone commented that all life matter…so I hope this same person is not going to stop by here.
😆 🤣 😂. I love that you take such great pleasure in squishing your nemesis!! 😆 🤣 😂 I totally understand. I'd love to squish mine too! Squirrels!!! 😆 Thanks for the good information and the laugh!
I have been battling these horrible bugs for the last 4 years. I have a huge Tropical and Native eco garden and trees etc. So far this season "0" beetles. I stopped using traps after the first year because my area became infested. I was trapping about 10 gallons of these bugs a week back then. The solution was: #1. Bird Feeders, #2. Good bugs- Praying Mantis, Ladybugs, Green Lace Wings, #3 **"NEMATODES". My garden and fruit plants and trees, grape vines are 100% Beetle Free and I'm at the peak time of these ugly damaging pests. I think the final nail in this pest coffin was the Nematodes. No chemicals just using Nature to balance my eco system. I hope this helps anyone that is trying to get rid of them. The cool think is a built ladybug hotels to keep them in the garden as well as the praying mantis that have been leaving eggs sacks for the next years hatch. It was a great science project!. Remember in order to solve the problem you must observe what nature is doing around you.
Thanks for sharing your awesome info Tim. I didn’t mention traps because it attract the bugs to the garden in order to kill them. I didn’t want to invite them in. Nematodes are the next safest way. Thanks again for sharing!!
When they die they actually leave a horrible scent which is picked up from their antennae to deter other Japanese beetles from coming around. Manually picking them off and crushing them is the most effective way next to putting them in soapy water and/or Neem Oil. I'm also a fellow UA-camr and I've put a link to this video in my video description for Japanese beetles as you also mention Begonias, which I was not aware of when I did my video! Great video - love the enthusiasm!
I love the idea of planting begonias. But what about the beetle grubs ? They are everywhere, in the ground and in the grass. I had a really bad infestation and sprayed my roses and hibiscus with bifen it. I still have plenty of bees, and dragonflies. They are also in the crepe myrtles but I have so many of those, I don't even bother. I just want to protect my roses.
You are right, the grubs live underground. So it’s import to get rid of them as soon as you see them in the garden. I will get some nematodes next year for sure.
Webster, I added granules last fall into the ground around my roses to prevent these 🤬 beetles from coming back, but they still did this year, although not as bad so far. Spraying Neem oil doesn’t help either. Love your background music!
5:07 love the sneak attack and the crash of the symbols as you shake it off into the water and slowly back away. Keep crushing them. LOL. I am new to gardening and it's also become my therapy. I have seen these vile insects go at my beautiful Asiatic lily. I will make sure to use BOILING ass water for when I flick them in. They will get the memo real quick.
😂 let me know how well that work out! Japanese beetles are the worst in the garden in late Spring. Did you know that they are more attracted to white and light colored flowers than the dark ones?
@mytherapygarden3909 I didn't know that! New subscriber, thank you for sharing your beautiful garden and tips with us! I will keep you posted on the boiling water. No mercy. 😂
They are the worst brother. And they copulate leaps and bounds! The superman music is hilarious Webster. Have a great weekend!!😩🤣
Hey brother, good to hear from you! Yea, you never see just one beetle it’s always a pair or more getting busy!!
Webster, the music is perfect!! Conquer them all!!! Beetle Ninja!🙌🙌😁😂😂😂
Thanks my friend. I had to bring out the big guns, like Superman

😂 it’s not for the faint hearted
We have to get rid of these beetles by whatever means necessary.
😆 🤣 😂. I love that you take such great pleasure in squishing your nemesis!! 😆 🤣 😂

Thanks for the good information and the laugh!
You are welcomed, MrsEyes512. I wish I could just squish the squirrels too. They are becoming a pain!!
I like planting begonias but if that does not work I would break bad and squash em. Thank you Webster.
We have to get rid of these Japanese Beetles and it’s becoming a summer ritual… yikes!!

Thank you my friend. Thanks for spreading the word on getting rid of Japanese beetles.
Those critters are the worst. You have more guts than me - I'll take the soap option lol thanks for the tips!
By whatever means, The Suburban Gardenista. Warm soapy water does do a good job 😊
Nice video, I enjoyed it a lot
Thanks Vayolet 😊.
Interesting video, thank you Webster. Luckily here in England we dont have Japanese beetle our only nemesis are aphids & slugs.
You are very lucky. These beetles eat the flowers, fruits and leaves, leaving a total meltdown of the garden.
I live in SE England and my lily's are always attacked by Japanese beetles from March -June :(
Omg they ate all of my peaches, apples, pears and roses.
I can just imagine, Carter. Those bugs are the worst!!

@@mytherapygarden3909 If I see them while I'm plucking weeds, I'll put them in the bird feeder.

I use two flip flop sandals to crush mine!!
😂 Tara, I can just see you now 😆.
Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure! Please come back to visit us in the garden and bring a friend along with you 😃

Exactly what I was looking for. I just started geranium seeds.
Great. I wish you all the best for Spring and many more seasons to come.
I’ve read milky spore works a on grubs in the ground
But you would have to find them first.
I know it's 2 years later but too funny, I am with your daughter...ewwwww. My favorite way is the water with soap. Thank you. :D
You are so welcome! It’s never too late to
