i love how youre really paying attention and not just mindlessly listening to the music! :) the basic premise of the story is indeed "pirates who all search for the treasure of One Piece". its amazing bc after more than 25 years and 1000 chapters, we (our main characters) have not made it yet, however its 100% true to say this story is not about the destination, its about the journey. the world is incredibly detailed and fleshed out, as our main crew is literally sailing once around the equator of a whole planet. so yeah, that takes a while :D also, as you very well spotted, there are some craaazy characters and creatures and locations, and its only gonna get crazier. the creator (meaning, the one person writing the whole story since the 90s and drawing it) is the most creative person i think there is in the universe when it comes to storytelling and worldbuilding lmao, its insane. i dont know how he does it. the funny thing is, when you start reading the manga or watching the anime, you dont even really notice how huge the world is until youre already like, 100 episodes in at the least. but then suddenly you go "holy shit. this is absolutely insane" :D ive been watching and/or reading one piece for more than half my life, about 13 years now, and i will be devastated when its done honestly. but yeah sorry for the rant i could literally monologue about this series for hours :D great reaction

The one with the hat is luffy and the show trys to keep the stuff with the crew light hearted but that doesn't mean the show isn't serious or has no dark moments cuz the one-piece world is very messed up

One piece is one of the most emotional roller coasters you'll ever experience. Oda has never feared tackling subjects like slavery, racism, addiction etc. Its insane the things he can get away with in n a shonen.
Be careful not to miss the episode 1000 opening and opening 24 because depending of which video you are watching those 2 openings might not be included. People often miss those 2 openings because they are watching the version that only goes up to op 23.

2011 or 2012, my friend showed me One Piece. The very first thing he showed me was one of that left guys fights. He showed me some other fights, but it sticks with me. started watching it soon after and it was so good it was getting to be 15 episodes a day.
Usopp is his name. he's a comic relief character
One Piece is my favorite anime so I'm really glad to see people get excited and interested over it through the openings. You got a lot right about it just by watching through. The "Captain Hook" guy you see in some of the openings is Gold Roger, the former King of the Pirates who on at his execution told the world that he left a treasure, the One Piece, containing all that this world has to offer, on an island that only he and his crew had ever been to, and that whoever finds it can have it. So all the pirates of the world set out to search for it in the hopes of becoming the next Pirate King, not knowing if it even exists or not. (A lot of this is covered very early on) The openings really get across like you said the fun and exciting vibes, its like you're a member of this crew and you're all on a big adventure together. My favorite opening is probably opening 5 or 22. Anyways, great video and I hope you enjoy the rest of them !
It's currently 15 days until my 1 year anniversary of first starting One Piece...
I'm caught up to the show and I'm at chapter 401 of the manga and I can say that, there probably won't be another show that I will enjoy and miss as much as One Piece
If ur deticated enough to catch up to it, you will a 100% not regret watching it
Crazy. I started like a decade ago and still at like episode 500 and something. But I also stopped about a decade ago lol. I’ll start back up eventually.
Short synopsis on crew dynamic without too many spoilers.
Main guy with red vest and straw hat is captain of the ship and his crew is called straw hat pirates.
Everyone in the crew has a role they do on the ship for example suit guy is ships cook, reindeer is the doctor, long nose fellow a sniper and so forth.
Their crew gets bigger every now and then so when ever you notice new face with main cast they most likely joined the group.
The whole culture comment you made was spot on. Look for Oda's (the author) comments. Because every crewmate draws inspiration from certain cultures (Luffy is Brazil, Zoro is Japan, etc).
You said you have no chance of remembering all of the characters. I sincerely beg to differ my friend. 😂 The show is so good that you will FEEL all of those characters.
Over 1,000 episodes and still going. There's actually a One Piece movie airing in Theatres November 3rd that I'm going to see. Been watching this show for over 20 years of my life, and I'm 26 so it's been with me for basically my entire life. It's one of the best journeys you can experience, highly recommended. Also some of the most amazing characters and backstories, can't praise it enough.

This anime is like a journey with your friends with so much adventure and fun
I feel the openings does a good job encapsulating the core feeling of joy and excitement going on adventure and discovering the world. There's fighting and emotions going on too for sure, but at the core it's an adventure anime, searching for that treasure to become the pirate king and we get to go along on the ride with this fun crew.
And I think my fav from these is op 6 "BRAND NEW WORLD", just have that fun happy beat and animation to fit.
Looking forward to the 2nd part of these openings.
and if you do get to start reacting to this it'll be a loooong but oh so fun ride! (it's over 1000 episodes, still ongoing but said to be close to the end. worth every second you spend on it!)

I've always been a huge fan of Rainbow Star. The upbeat trumpets just really sell it. I have no idea what the community as a whole thinks about it.

People watching those openings usually doesn't realize when the ship changed and they see they realize that Ace exist in 12th opening
if you see from the opening you might think that this anime is always happy but cruelty, war crimes, cunning, slavery, racism, dark business, and others. you will find in this anime
Luffy is like a cartoon character, wherever he is... things always gets crazy and fun, with some exceptions.

The Breathtaking world of One piece is an 8 min long video just showing off how beautiful and varied the scenery is and does live up to its name. Highly recommend checking it out at some point.

You've really gotten at the heart of the series, it's all about their adventures together. It's cool cause it let's the show be action packed, comedic and even pretty dark at times and it all works cause each place they go to is always different

One piece is definitely an adventure to watch. Its not all happy and go lucky. Very dark and sad things happen in this anime. You always wanna know what happens next after each episode. So much history between the characters. After watching all episodes and then you watch the openings? It hits differently!
I can't wait for part 2! One Piece is the greatest selling manga of all time, very close to being the greatest selling comic of all time, and nothing deserves it more than One Piece! The story's length is its greatest strength and it can definitely get very dark despite sounding as happy as it does, it's a commitment but please watch One Piece!

I can’t wait to see part 2, and if you start the series I’m sure you’ll love it, as long as you go in knowing it’s 1000+ episodes already, and has at least a few hundred more yet to be animated from the manga before it ends.
One Piece is the greatest story ever told by man or god. It started in 1997 and is set to be finished in a few years. Start now and you can be there with us to bear witness to a truly historic event when it finally comes to a conclusion.
To summarize: Gol D. Rodger, the King of the Pirates, was executed. Before he died, he said that he left all his treasure in one place. If they want it, go out and find it. Thus, causing the Great Pirate era, where people seek to find what came to be called the One Piece, and those that find Rodger's treasure will become his successor as King of the Pirates.
Though it's clearly getting to the climax, after over 1,030 episodes, they still haven't found it, but they have found clues leading to it.

Give the Tot Musica by Ado video a watch. It's from One Piece Film Red where Ado provides the singing voice for the character Uta. Uta is the daughter of the guy with the red hair and 3 scats over his eye in the intros.
When watching someone first dive in -- it's heartening to come across fellow members of the One Piece community, expressing joy whilst tiptoeing around spoilers.
You gotta remember that this is a continuous story spanning 20+ years in real life. You'll see the style and animation change as you go forward. The story is a modern day epic. I truly believe this and think im not exaggerating
At several hundred episodes in and I believe still going, if ANYTHING is an epic it's One Piece. lol

The thing is, the guy with the straw hat is the crazy one and the one with the long nose is usually talking sense.
An example would be like this, there's a sleeping monster in the ocean in their way of the boat.
Long-nose: If we move quietly around it we should be fine.
Straw-hat: Looks tasty (punches it).
One Piece is the ultimate ''Don't judge a book by its cover''. I have had such a difficult time getting people to give it a chance despite its popularity and all of them love it now xD
One Piece is an anime of extremes. Exhilarting highs and crushing lows. If you have a few months time, I recommend.

It's one of the Big 3 of Shounen animé, as I explained in the Naruto openings reaction video.
Anyone's opinion is highly subjective, (so I don't want any other fans to be offended) but according to me, One Piece is the single piece of storyline that I imagine can surpass Attack on Titan. (Not at the present, but I have a feeling it's going to shatter every expectation and blow it up in the sky when it reaches the conclusion)
The world building, adventure, action, depth of characters, theme, humour, emotions. Everything is so well written. The only drawback(?) is that it doesn't seem as mind boggling all the time in comparison to AoT because of its length. It has around 1050 episodes I guess, more than 10 times. So, it takes time to get adjusted to the pace. Still, the cliffhangers on major arcs are as bad, if not worse.
To create, maintain and intertwine that storyline to hold upon itself is something I could never appreciate Eiichiro Oda enough for. One thing you'll notice is the light hearted presentation, which may give off the vibes of a kids show at first glance, but the themes are much darker and deeper once you pay attention to them.
If I had to summarise : Peak fiction. That's what it is.

(P.S. : Lol, I forgot to add anything about the openings. They're all good, although my personal favourite is Over The Top (Op. 22 I guess). I actually haven't watched the show after opening 23 though, so can't comment on the later ones.)

Just a quick thing, the ship doesn’t actually fly. It has an ability that uses a lot of fuel that allows it to launch into the air and then land a fair distance away. It’s for getting away from big attacks and stuff.

some things you need to know: Luffy (Loo-Fee) is the MC, he's the one with the Straw Hat. he seeks to be the King of the Pirates, but to attain his goal he will have to sail around the world (completely) to find the One Piece, which is Gold Roger's treasure, as he was the original King of the Pirates. meanwhile those who sail with Luffy do not share his goal, they have their own dreams and aspirations, no matter how big or small they might be.
I’m obsessed with this show. Like, O B S E S S E D. I hope you decide to watch/read it, even if there’s more than 1000+ eps/chaps. You Will Never Regret It. Oda-sensei I is the most creative storyteller that I’ve ever had the pleasure of following. Lemme tell ya, Law is the only Law I’d want to follow (besides Luffy) 😅😅 You’d get it in the 500+ eps 😅😅 You’ll enjoy it. Luffy is the kind of character that you just can’t help but want to cheer on. Luffy May come across as comedic and silly, and it’s completely true, but, what makes everyone want to follow him, is not only his charisma, but his “I’ll protect you no matter who’s ass I gotta beat” attitude. It didn’t matter if they were enemies 5 minutes ago, an hour ago, a year ago. Or even still enemies. If he sees you being mistreated, crying, hurt, whatever, he’ll save you. He’ll protect you. You may or may not get an offer to join his nakama though 😅😅😅 He’s just so lovable and very realistic, emotionally.
If I had to pick 3 from the first half it has to be We Are, Bon Voyage, Believe in Wonderland. It really is hard to pick except in the second half I have definite favorites.
The character you think of like "A Zorro kind of character" is actually named Zoro. The author had to buy the name because it was too similar to Zorro.

One Piece is a show that is feel good but will also break your heart. Yes, It is a show about pirates and how the main character, Straw Hat Luffy, wants to be king of the pirates. You become king of the pirates by obtaining the treasure known as the One Piece 9hence the name io the show). The crew members, in order: 1. Luffy, who wears the Straw Hat and is the captain (hence them being the Straw Hat Pirates), 2. Zoro, the dude with the green hair and the swords is first mate, 3. Nami, the redhead is the navigator, 4. Usopp, who has the long nose is the sniper, 5. Sanji, the blond in the suit is the cook, 6. Chopper, the reindeer is the doctor, 7. Robin, the black haired girl is the historian/archeologist, 8. Franky, with the blue hair is the shipwright, 9. Brook, the skeleton is the musician, and 10. Jinbei, the big blue fish dude is the helmsman. There are other characters that are important like the dude with red hair is Shanks, Luffy's mentor. Gol D. Roger aka Gold Roger is the dude at 23:47 with the mustache and the smile you were asking about. He is the first king of the pirates and is the dude who with his dying words set everyone on this race for the One Piece. And then you have various other allies and enemies most of which are spoilers.
i watch this since 1st episode its been idk half of my life XD. Love it. Its even better now i love my jurney with them. And this one intro that you say was kinda the same animation it was, but its also the same song sang by actors who voiced main characters. Offcourse Luffy is the best i have his figure always close to me with such a big smile face it makes me feel good, and Chopper the reniffer animal guy he is their doctor XD. Its long starting many adventures since whole team is completed. I also recomend movies, because there are also few movies based on the story and characters the newest is One Piece: RED. Its also fun show because you never know when you meet someone who you meet 200 episode before.

One thing that nobody has mentioned yet. Most of the scenes that are shown in the openings do not actually take place in the anime. They are taken from the chapter covers, and get really weird because Oda often takes reader requests for random scenes if he doesn't have a sidestory to tell at the time.
So things like the armored Llama and the animal orchestra were reader requested scenes.
The parts of the openings that take place in the story are usually the flash-cuts, where you have no idea what is actually going on unless you have already watched the scene in question.
It keeps the openings from becoming too spoilery.

Bro loving the reactions so far, I have to say if you're going to watch this anime and do reactions, I recommend you release them by arcs instead of episode 1 and 2 and such. There are over 1000 episodes and it might take you a couple of years otherwise hahaha.

The main character is Luffy, hat boy.
The kid of the group is Chopper, Reindeer boy. He is not a pet, the boy is a doctor but yet even the government sees him has a pet. The boy is smart and strong 😢
My favorite opening is number 3, Hikari E. It takes place during the arc that really captured my attention in One Piece and when I really started to feel invested in the show, so it holds a special place in my heart.

One Piece is so fucking good. It's an undertaking for sure, but absolutely worth it. Oda is a master of worldbuilding. Think of it kind of like a happy go lucky force of nature main character in a world that can be quite dark. Part of the fun is seeing the way Luffy affects the people he meets and the places he goes.
Yes the ship can fly (kind of) but the most crazy part is that they're able to do that using cola. Yes the drink cola. As in a soda drink. It's completely mental but it makes sense. Kind of.
