I've got the same Mario Bros Game&Watch from when I was a kid! Also in mint condition. Beautiful game! It even smells nice, lol. That thing in Japan costs like 300 USD! 😱 Can't say the same about my Zelda Game&Watch. It has seen better days, that's for sure. Edit: thank you, Lesley!
300 degrees celsius or fahrenheit? Cuz i might be getting a game boy if i do end up going to a flea market, and it might have vertical lines; you never know
That flickering I'm pretty sure is either scan lines or refresh rate, it's one of the two though (something to do with how the camera works, it captures images differently from the human eye) Edit: what soldering iron is that?? Mine's some kind of generic brand (I think it's anbes) I've never seen a soldering iron with an LCD in it though
Hi, I just wanted to say that the most popular Spanish UA-camr (with over 38 million subscribers) reacted to your long GameBoy video on stream. I guess that's cool.
yes, ua-cam.com/video/_9bSVqVA4n0/v-deo.html It's in the minute 10:06. The video isn't from his channel, it's just a reuploaded segment from the live stream, his channel name Is ElRubiusOMG.
I was working on a Play it Loud black Gameboy (inspired by your work) and had the speaker fall apart on me as I pulled the Gameboy shell apart. The rear central portion of the speaker with the metal bit simply separated from the rest of the speaker. I put the pieces back together without glue or anything and the speaker works, but it is very quiet. Is this something that can be fixed by properly gluing the section that fell out into the rest of the speaker or am I better off just replacing the speaker outright? I'd like to keep all the original parts if possible but I haven't seen any examples online of other speakers falling apart like this, so I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
Every time you move something across or put something down on the table there is a lot of reverb in the audio. It is like you are playing a drum. I only notice it with headphones on but it was quite disconcerting. Everything else you do is great, but that thump every time you do anything is pretty distracting.
Thank you Lesley!
Great vid 👍
Your’re right, the game and watch Mario bros came out in March 1983 and the arcade game came out in July 1983
Huh,that's strange, i tout it was the other way around.
Honestly watching you work is amazing and inspiring, I can't wait to see more
Indeed.
Your videos are keeping me sane in these strange times. Thank you

Hey Elliot, will you be getting the new IPS kit for the Game Boy Pocket? Love your videos!!
2:16 screen will flicker on the camera/recording because of the differences between refresh rates of the gameboy screen and camera's sensor ;)
I’m watching this on 9 mins

What is the difference between your channels. Following both regardless. Love your content.
This one is just for extra content. I wouldn’t make a video like this on my main channel.
The Retro Future 2 Extra retro would be an awesome name for this channel.
did my first vertical line repair last weekend and i lucked out and it only took 10 mins

Horizontal lines are not repairable?
Next video: backlighting a Game & Watch for no reason
Wait is this a real gameboy or a fake one
👍
Where is the music Elliott?
Thats a lot of screen lines
Yes
Lanks you Tesley
Who else saw the thumbnail and thought it was BMO?
Not a big fan of the color of that DMG. The color of the buttons don't compliment it at all.
thank you lesley? leslie? uh... how do you spell it?
