A neurosurgeon and professor of medicine (professionally) and an afficionado and reviewer of fine dining (avocationally): I think your list of top NYC restaurants is virtually flawless. Rare that such an exceptional selection is point perfect -- including the esthetically-targeted menu options highlighted at each. Kudos!
Video summary + my notes: 10. L'Artusi (Italian restaurant. If you're having trouble getting a dinner reservation try lunch - it's much easier) 9. Buvette (French restaurant) 8. Via Carota (Italian restaurant. If you're having trouble getting a reservation show up a bit before 5pm and join the wait-list) 7. Sushi Nakazawa (Sushi omakase restaurant) 6. Tim Ho Wan East Village (Chinese dim sum) 5. Los Tacos No 1 (Tacos. There's multiple locations in Manhattan) 4. Russ & Daughters (Bagels. Very iconic NYC spot - you gotta get the lox) 3. Douska (Japanese restaurant) 2. Le Bernadin (3 Michelin star seafood restaurant with French techniques. You must get the tasting menu imo) 1. San Sabino (Italian restaurant. Sarah recommends getting the garlic bread martini)
Was in Manhattan recently and took some friends to Los Tacos No 1 and they were so impressed. They said out of all the restaurants we ate at, Los Tacos was the absolute best and just happened to be the least expensive. I will always go there to eat when I visit… delicioso 😋
Thanks for the suggestion! An update on life sounds like a great idea. I’ll definitely consider sharing more about the differences between living upstate and in the city with the family soon!
Hi Sarah, as a lifelong resident of NYC and LI and possessing the knowledge of NY baseball that I do (Mets and Yankees), I would love to do a collaborative episode with you on the NYC ballparks in the Spring if you are interested. It might be a good thing for you since you discuss all things NYC tourism, and many tourists do visit our ballparks during baseball season. I do occasionally talk sports over on my channel if that sparks any interest. Thanks!!
Great video: informative, visually appealing and compact. One teeny tiny blemish though. The name of your number two restaurant is misspelled: It’s Le BernaRdin, not Bernadin like in the video. Surely not important in the great scheme of things. Your devoted stickler of a fan 😉
This is why you don’t let someone who doesn’t live in the city actually make a list of best restaurants in NYC 🤦🏻♂️….. Russ & Daughters/ Los Tacos No 1 aren’t restaurants, they are tourist traps!!!
@ key word “lived” there. She doesn’t anymore and this list it out of date. Sucks when people use NYC for material when they don’t live here. Maybe make a list of where you live everyday and not somewhere you visit maybe once every two months.

I'm sorry, but if you can't pronounce Manhattan correctly where are you from? (cue :15 seconds in...)

She’s from NYC. Lived there for many years. 🙂

@ preeeach. Non new yorkers dont speak on what’s good food
Keep your pizza shops and bagels. Theres more here than that !
Los Tacos No. 1 carne tacos are amazing. Also, they originated in LA so I'm not sure it really counts as a NY place.
As a New Yorker, your picks aren’t that great. Sorry!
