People want him to make a diffrent genre music but what he has made is still a gold. The type of genres you like is subjective and this right here sounds imo better than AH. Just personal oppinion, BTW you know that both Starboy and AH were hated on the first few days, after couple of weeks is when they started becoming globally liked. Sacrifice already has 15mil views in just three days on spotify, that is similar to the views despacito had within 3 days.

30:00 Yeah, Abel is a huge fan of Prince. They were going to work together before he died, would have really liked to see the results from that. Also, Prince was known to say "May U Live 2 See The Dawn" and he was also working on an album called "The Dawn" back in the 90's that never came out.

I loved so much that Swedish House Mafia helped Abel to produce 2 songs, sacrifice and how do i make you Love me, out of time its precious, the sample is great, it's an amazing album
Kool, thought it was daft punk at first.
Lmaoo they didn't "help", they were the f'ing producers with Max Martin & Oscar Holton (they made the damn song) smh. Weeknd just makes his lyrics and if needed, he adds spices to the instrumental if he wants stuff changed or arranged tailored to his lyrics/singing production. That's the only reason he's included in the Production's Credits but he's not an actual Music Producer.
As for which is better After Hours or Dawn FM I'd say that Dawn FM probably holds up better overall. He was still testing the waters with After Hours. But I do think that in terms of stand alone songs that After Hours has the heavier hitters. For example I don't think any song on Dawn FM is going to top the overall popularity and impact of Blinding Lights.
A song like blinding lights is very rare
When it comes to hits nothing will top after hours, but he definitely improved his story telling and cohesion with Dawn FM. One of my few problems with after hours is that the way it flowed was kind of awkward, but everything in Dawn Fm is in the right place.

watching Phantom Regret by Jim during the amazon live is a much different experience that just listening to the music. To see Abel in a silenced stance, after all the dancing and orchestrating of the rest of the previous tracks was just surreal.

Less Than Zero threw me off and my best friend actually hates it. He doesn't enjoy it at all. For some reason when I listen to that song I feel like I'm in some 90's early 00's coming of age teenage highschool movie. Also I think that Lana Del Ray might have been a good feature on that song.
Well yeah it’s basically ‘I Melt With You’ which is a hard sound to make it feel really fresh bc it’s too nostalgic
i loved the album but for some reason i don’t like less then zero too, i was suprised when i heard everyone likes it so much. hope the track is gonna grow in the future for me

I dont know why, but every time I listen to Less Than Zero, I start feeling very sad
The way he says I’ll always be less than zero is gut wrenching
This song has a similar vibe to Save Your Tears, but this song did what that song tried hard to do and made me feel sad from the start

This album is missing the hip-hop/dark R&B aspect of his musical ability and production. Dawn FM might be my least favorite album of his. Either Dawn FM or BBTM.

The new era is finally here! I love the whole "radio station" concept (Jim Carrey did a great job, by the way), the synth-heavy production & honestly, every song on here has potential to be a hit. A great, cohesive album with a unique story to tell! 🎶

I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this album after its release, BUT I can describe how much this album is a portrayal of my life RIGHT NOW. It's a tough listen some days and other days it's a joy to listen to. If someone wanted to get to know who I am and how I feel about life, I tell them to listen to this album because I can't describe it any other way.
Phantom Regret by Jim is honestly, not only my favorite track of the album, but also one of the best songs by Abel. The lyrics are just so beautiful . It brings life-changing concepts and thoughts in such a poetic way. Simply amazing
This is a beautiful album. I really enjoy it. I love how The Weeknd recreates himself with every album, but is still The Weeknd. His growth and development is a joy to watch and listen to. Looking forward to the "After Life" 😁

Idk if anyone has else picked up on it but Out of time is The Weeknd’s version of Can’t go for that by Hall & Oates. Even the beginning of Out of time is the exact sound used in Can’t go for that. Plus if I am hearing correctly the subject matters are the same. Who else agrees’s?
