*Fun fact:* In the Legends continuity, the Rodian named Greedo who Anakin fought in a deleted scene of Episode I is not the one from "A New Hope", but his father Greedo the Elder. This was established in order to fix the big inconsistency generated between said film and Greedo's story in Legends (created before the prequels) as, in said origin story, Greedo is the same age as Luke and he grew up in Rodia.
@@spencercarruth9706 Nope. That's actually the Greedo we all know, which creates another massive inconsistency in the Legends Lore. The Clone Wars show doesn't fit in Legends, so I recommend you to consider that show only as part of the New Canon or as a separate continuity
"Han shot first" is a very important element of Han's character arc. From a lying, cowardly, boasting smuggler he becomes a rebel hero, general and a devoted friend. I can't believe that Lucas and Disney can't see the point, what that scene communicates to the viewer.
@@goodmind4940 I really can't see the reasoning behind it. It's a dangerous galaxy and he was held at gunpoint by a bounty hunter on a Hutt controlled planet. It's kill or be killed. Sure it was ruthless and cowardly, and his relaxed attitude suggests he did that many times before. But it doesn't make him irredeamable. Leia killed many stormtroopers by shooting them before they shot her, I guess she can't marry Han now, that ruthless bitch
@@valravnsshadow9422 nice usage of the word "literally". Han literally shot literally first in the original footage, there are literally comparisons, literally. It's extremely obvious who shot first in the original footage.

In "From a Certain Point of View", Greedo was one of the most feared individuals in Mos Eisley, and most of the stories from the Mos Eisley Cantina's patrons hit the climax with Han's confrontation with Greedo (and the prior confrontation between Old Ben and Pondo Baba, who was actually supposed to be Greedo's backup when confronting Solo).
I always had a fondness for the rodians moral diversity. Theres a lot of star wars aliens that are too easily groups into good guy bad guy sections when every species should be a mix of both. Rodians though? rodians have been shown of being upstanding folks or vile fiends as you’d expect a human more promptly than most.
@Mackenzie Bauroth ah thats a shame, i know new canon is leaning to show more criminal rodians but a fair amount of the ones I’ve seen with actual characters seem to be upstanding citizens
its funny when i think about it, but yeah they are one of the more varied species, or its just that they stand out enough that you do remember whenever there is one in a scene. still one of my favourite alien designs from star wars
@Mackenzie Bauroth well names I can’t recall, but i’m bad with those anyway. Clone wars had a Jedi master rodian died resisting giving cad cane access the a holocron, and another rodian padawan. Then there some from the high republic that were Just a farming family getting abused by a pawn of the hutts. That one in the haradan guild in kotor seemed reasonable as well.
Another quality video. Thank you! Your ability to take these details from various sources and stich them together is a great talent. Looking forward to the next one.
Funnily enough, I've written a couple short fanfics about that. Always intended to weave a multi-generational "Space-Mitchener" together about the Tetsus Clan, but, well . . . Disney happened.
The Rodians remind me a lot of the dragons from Dragonriders of Pern - a science fiction series of novels by Anne McCaffrey and later her son Todd McCaffrey. I highly recommend checking them out if you love science fiction!

Well, hang on a tick, Dooku was the one who hid the creation of clones in the first place, the one who hired Jango and deleted records of kamino... The chances of Sidious executing order 66 is severely lessened here. The republic would most likely have a conscripted army.
