in 2013 i found out that u can do a double jump if u use a spring and thats how i completed night carnival act 2
I actually really enjoyed Dead Line as a kid! Just... not the purple emerald!
That Chaos Emerald was pure hell to get.

The funny thing is that this zone has the easiest grind spot out of all the chaos emeralds.
Ah, yes. My very first Sonic game from back in '08.
When I got to the Dead Line boss, I had been playing the whole game and seeing, for some reason, Sonic simply pumping his arms like he does when he's not boosting. My 7-year-old brain apparently saw that same animation no matter how fast Sonic was going.
Then I reached the climax of the fight with Blaze.
I still remember being blown away when the camera came up close and revealed Sonic was - and had always been - boosting not with his arms pumping pistons, but *with his arms behind his back.*
He looked so damn cool...

One nice touch of detail I never realized as a kid. Whenever the gravity shifts upsidedown, the instrumentation of this stage's music plays in "pseudo-reverse"

Damn I don't know which is better his playing or the music.
This is the best Death Egg theme level in the franchise, even more than the Ark stages from SA2/Shadow!
How can you get the flickies to pop out when doing tricks? Get all S Ranks?

It's a Finisher Trick. You execute it by having a three-chain combo or more and press the A button.
This was a cool zone in my childhood! But the only problem was getting hit by an enemy or spikes in a location that makes all your rings get sucked up in a magnet-like hole!

I would do anything for a Sonic Handheld Origins that gave us Advance, Rush, and Rivals all in one package 😩

How the fuck did you get passed that barricade in the beginning of act 2? I've been totally stuck on for HOURS now. It makes absolutely no sense, so how the hell did you do it?

@@theminebloxcraft5779 😂 Its been two years since I made that comment and I finally get my answer. Don't worry, I've figured it out and since then beat the game both in easy and hard mode.

The Nintendo DS has a display resolution of 256x192 for each screen.
The PSP has only one screen and it has a display resolution of 480x270.
I know at that time such low resolutions were standard for portable consoles, but for Nintendo DS they could have done at least 360x270 for each screen. At the time it was possible.
Finished this game recently with all Emeralds and honestly if you remove those dreadful Special Stages especially Stage 6 and 7 this game minus the sheer amount of cheap death bullshit is really good and still holds up even yet.
Btw I just want to compliment you here you were amazing the way you played this and you made it look so easy. I know I struggled with this zone and I believe I lost 8 out of 9 lives here.
I desperately need help on the very beginning of act 2. I can't get the rocket to go the correct way without crashing almost immediately.
