    Well done, guys! There’s actually an episode of the tv-series “The Universe” about gravity, where Alex Filippenko makes a gravity experiment on superman: escape from krypton @ Six Flags Magic Mountain. He drops a tennis ball while on the ride, simultaneously while the coaster drops backwards from the top. There is also the problem with the wind - and it looks like there are even trim brakes on the upper part of the ride, which would ruin this gravity experiment completely, I guess. Anyways, your video goes much more into the details of the ride and why these objects don’t reach the ground at the same time, even though they should no matter what the weight is. Including with the animation, I like it actually more than that The Universe feature. Nevertheless: What imo makes a free fall tower much better/thrilling is: when the magnetic brakes aren’t installed too high over the ground. That’s why, I guess, for me the drop of High Fall in Movie Park feels more intense than the much taller Highlander in Hansa Park. At Highlander the brakes kick in really early - not so at High Fall.

    We measured the accelerations of the Freefall Tower in the Holiday Park in comparison. The empty gondola decelerated with 4.2 g, the full gondola with 3.5 g. That's a difference you can feel.
    Thank you for uploading this video in english! ❤️

    Is this with a rollercoaster of not any influence as well?

    • @JurnanSchilder
      @JurnanSchilder 3 роки тому

      Yes it is. In general, a fully loaded roller coaster train will travel faster than an empty train. This is also the reason why many test runs are done with water dummies inside the train: to increase the weight and reduce the influence of air resistance.

    Maar die magneten werken niet harder als de gondela zwaarder is? Dat moet toch wel te regelen zijn?

    • @jeroenstalman3668
      @jeroenstalman3668 3 роки тому +2

      Ik denk dat dit niet te regelen is. Ik kan me namelijk niet voorstellen dat ze electro magneten gebruiken om de gondel af te remmen maar permanente magneten. Dit denk ik omdat je bij elektro magneten stroom nodig hebt om ze magnetisch te maken. Mocht tijdens de val de stroom uitvallen heb je geen rem meer. En ik hoef niemand uit te leggen dat dat niet zo handig is.
      Mocht ik het fout hebben of als iemand een betere uitleg heeft hoor ik het graag. Kan ik ook van leren

    Greatt video but, isn't Galileo Galilei the founder of the principle of relativity as Proven by commander David Scott on the Apollo 15 mission?
