P-47 Thunderbolt..the original big, bad boy

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was WW2's biggest and heaviest fighter aircraft. Designed for high altitude flight, it became the foremost ground attack platform, claiming 86,000 railway wagons at war's end.

Lucky to have a P-47 based here in Sacramento at former McClellan AFB 4 miles from my house so under the flight pattern. I see it occasionally along with a P-51. My dad used to dogfight them on the east coast in an SB2C but only if it's pilot would come down to low level. All in fun and practice of course but those were the days. Thank you for another well done video.
